Deep Purple / Budokan 2023 / 2CDR / Shades
Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 13th March 2023
The latest Japan tour of the newly born DEEP PURPLE that finally started! As the first report, a ridiculously powerful original recording arrived. Emergency release decision!
The performance of “March 13, 2023: Nippon Budokan” is imbued in this work. It is the transcendental audience recording. Anyway, their performance in Japan has just started. It is expected that the release will continue in the future, so let’s check the tour schedule immediately.
・ March 13: Nippon Budokan ← This work
>>here now<<
・ March 17: Hiroshima Ueno Gakuen Hall
・ March 19: Fukuoka Sun Palace Hall
・ March 21: Maruzen Intec Arena Osaka
Above, all 4 performances. Nippon Budokan of this work is the first day of Lee. It was the show the day before this article was published. Recently, the record of the fastest release has been updated considerably, but this time it is exactly the ultimate. It’s a Guinness-class fastest report that can’t be released any sooner.
Moreover, I was surprised because the sound was Guinness class! It is an original recording of only this work given by the recording artist himself, but this is the best with “super”. It also makes me want to repeat endlessly, “super-super-super”. Anyway, the core is very thick and there is no sense of distance, and the density and response are plentiful and there is no feeling of being empty. Furthermore, the fineness of detail and the feeling of separation are completely sound board grade, and there is no shaking or chattering in a crisp sense of stability. I gave up on permanent preservation because I gave priority to updating the world record (?) for the fastest release, but the content is a perfect press grade.
I wondered how this kind of sound was possible at the Nippon Budokan, and I found the secret. The recording position of this work is “in front of the speaker of the A9 block”. Far from echoing, there is no hustle and bustle in the surroundings, and the sound is picked up directly from the front. Of course, if you are a recording amateur, you will break into pieces even at the same position, but that is a veteran recording artist. By calculating back the positional relationship between the seat and the PA and the sound output characteristics of DEEP PURPLE, it was possible to perfectly capture it with a delicate setting. It is a miraculous sound created by accidental seating and skilled experience.
The latest LIVE IN JAPAN that you can listen to with such a completely official-class sound is overwhelming. The set was the same as the overseas performance, but at this timing there are many people who do not usually check the audience recording. Let’s reorganize here.
● Classics (8 songs)
・Machine Head: Highway Star/Pictures Of Home/Lazy/Space Truckin’/Smoke On The Water
・Other: Hush/Black Night/When A Blind Man Cries
●After reunion (5 songs)
・ Blackmore era: Perfect Strangers / Anya
At first, I was aiming only for “Breaking news of the latest arrival in Japan!”, but it turned out to be ridiculous. Masterpiece recordings that have been delivered from all over the world have faded in one shot. If the release is also the fastest, the sound is also the best in the world. This is the best masterpiece live album of the new DEEP PURPLE joined by Simon McBride and “MADE IN JAPAN for the new generation”. It is a shocking emergency release decision!
★ “March 13, 2023: Nippon Budokan” performance recording of a transcendental audience. The original recording captured from “the front of the speaker of the A9 block”, the sound that directly picks up the output sound is superb. Anyway, the core is very thick and there is no sense of distance, and the density and response are plentiful and there is no feeling of being empty. Furthermore, the fineness of the details and the separate feeling are also complete soundboard grade. Exactly the masterpiece live album of the new DEEP PURPLE with Simon McBride. “New generation MADE IN JAPAN” is born.
