In 1993, the final stage of “Sylvian & Flip”, about a month after the second Japan tour, the Sittard performance in the Netherlands on November 20th from the Europe tour was 68 minutes with super high sound quality comparable to sound board recording. Originally, Flip invited David as a vocalist of the new Crimson in the early 90’s, so it is speculated that if the Crimson revival was realized at this time, it would have been a live like this. In the Bloom Crimson that appeared the following year, it was a dual structure band with two guitars, two sticks, and two drums, and it had a profound and metallic direction, but it was a completely different “Sylvian & Flip”. The original sound direction that makes you feel pure spiritual nobility is really fresh even now. 1993年、「シルヴィアン＆フリップ」の最後期、２回目の日本ツアーの約一ヵ月後、ヨーロッパツアーから11月20日のオランダ、Sittard公演がサウンドボード録音に匹敵する超高音質で68分に渡って収録したファン必聴のテイクが登場。「本当にオーディエンス録音なのか？」と考え込んでしまうほどに異様なまでにクリアーかつダイレクトなサウンドで収録された決定版。パット・マステロッテとトレイ・ガンの新生クリムゾンのリズム隊に絡むフリップのギターとデヴィッド・シルヴィアンの存在感あるボーカルが見事に絡み合った圧巻のパフォーマンスは全編を通して聴き応え満点です。もともとフリップは９０年代初頭に新生クリムゾンのボーカルとしてデヴィッドを誘っていたので、この時期にクリムゾン復活が実現していたらこんな感じのライブになっていたのではないかと推測されるライブでもあります。翌年登場するヴルーム・クリムゾンでは、ギター、スティック、ドラムスがそれぞれ２人づつというデュアル構造のバンドで重厚且つメタリックな方向性をもったものでしたが、それとは全く違った「シルヴィアン＆フリップ」のピュアな精神的な気高さを感じさせるオリジナルなサウンドダイレクションは今聴いても実に新鮮です。非常に洗練された高密度なアンサンブルにデヴィッドのヨーロピアン・ヴォイスが被さり、このユニットでしか味わえない重厚なサウンドワールドをたっぷりと堪能できます。全てのファン必聴の超高品質音源です。
