何しろ前日の汚名を挽回すべく敢行してくれた録音ですので、その音の近さは正にミラード・クオリティ。中でもライブ前半の締めくくりとしてニール・ヤングが披露した「Mother Earth (Natural Anthem)」における爆裂エレキ弾き語りではかき鳴らされるレスポールの音が生々しいほど。
これくらいのクオリティであればプレスでリリースされてもおかしくないレベルですし、マニアでなくとも安心して楽しんでいただけることでしょう。
とはいえ前日のライブ終盤で実現したダラス・テイラーとの再会コーナーという感動フィナーレはイベントが違うのでこの日はなし。よって『SANTA MONICA 1990: MIKE MILLARD MASTER TAPES』の価値も落ちていません。

またイベント出演にもかかわらず二日連続ならばとセットリストを替えてくるのが彼ららしいところで、CSN三人のセットにおいてはグレアム・ナッシュが前日には歌われなかった自身のソロアルバムからの佳曲「Magical Child」を演奏するという攻めの姿勢。
それ以上にCSNクラシックである「Guinnevere」がこの日は歌われているのが何と言っても魅力的。
おまけに前日同様CSNセットでも「For What It’s Worth」だけはニールが加わったCSNY状態で演奏されるのですが、そこで彼とスティーブン・スティルスのギターがしっかり聞き分けられる音の近さもミラード録音の面目躍如。

そして前日の「Southern Cross」が省かれた代わりにCSNYセットでは永遠の名曲「Ohio」が登場というのがこの日の大きな目玉。当時、中国の天安門事件の記憶も生々しい時期であり、ここではニールが彼らに捧げる…としながら演奏を始める場面が極上ミラード・クオリティで捉えられたのはポイントが高すぎる。
