Dylan’s ’93 live sound source, which will be released at the same time this time, is an ultra-quality audience recording that captures the pattern of “Fleadh Festival”, which appeared on the first day of the second European tour of the same year, two months after New Orleans.
This is also a recording state that is really close to the sound image, and if it was released in real time, it would definitely have been released on a press CD along with New Orleans.

The performance on this day, recorded with such exceptional quality, was also intense. After all, Dylan is fully open from the opening acoustic “Hard Times”. The band also firmly supports Dylan from the timing of having already completed two tours.
In fact, the performance has evolved since the time of New Orleans, with the band facing the four of them in “All Along The Watchtower” with Dylan at full throttle. A more thrilling performance can be heard with the best sound quality.
And this time, author Van Morrison appears in “One Irish Rover”. I laughed at the timing and excitement of a mimicry program, but what was it that the author sang along with Van’s song that Dylan had sung many times on stage since 1989? Only this time.
He captures that super-precious scene with perfect sound quality, but it’s a masterpiece that conveys the imposing presence of Van Mori here. There is also an audience shot video that captures this scene on YouTube, but the venue was showing tremendous excitement as they sang with separate microphones at first, and then two people sang with one microphone.
Dylan, whose tension seems to have risen even more with this surprise guest, became sharp when he became “Mr. Tambourine Man”. It seems that the fact that only the sound source that captured the stage in the early 1993 was released in the rear tie caused the impression of the live of the same year to fade among enthusiasts, but a high-tension stage like this day was released I can’t help but think…

今回同時にリリースされるディランの93年ライブ音源はニューオリンズから二か月後、今度は同年二度目のヨーロッパツアーの初日に出演した『Fleadh Festival』の模様を捉えたウルトラ・クオリティのオーディエンス録音。
これがまた実に音像の近い録音状態でして、もしリアタイでリリースされたとしたらニューオリンズと共に間違いなくプレスCDでリリースされたであろうクオリティ。
ですが、1993年当時にこれほどまで秀でた音源がトレーダー間に広まっていなかったというのも事実。皮肉なことに30年もの歳月が経過したからこそ、こうして降臨してくれたのでした。
そんな別格のクオリティで記録されたこの日の演奏がまた強烈。何しろオープニングのアコースティックな「Hard Times」からしてディランがエンジン全開。既に二回のツアーをこなした後というタイミングからバンドもしっかりとディランを支えている。
実際エンジン全開なディランを「All Along The Watchtower」でバンドががっぷり四つに向き合ってニューオリンズの時から演奏が進化。よりスリリングな演奏がこれまた最高な音質で聞かれるのです。
そして今度は「One Irish Rover」において作者ヴァン・モリソンが登場。まるで物真似番組の「ご本人登場」的なタイミングと盛り上がりには笑ってしまいますが、89年からディランがステージで何度も歌っていたヴァンの曲を作者が一緒に歌ってみせたのは何とこの時だけ。
その超貴重な場面も完璧な音質で捉えてくれているのですが、ここでの堂々たるヴァンモリの存在感まで伝えてくれるのが圧巻。YouTube上にはこの場面を捉えたオーディエンスショット映像も存在しますが、最初は別々のマイクで歌い、次に一本のマイクで二人が歌う様に会場は凄まじい盛り上がりを見せていたのでした。
このサプライズ・ゲストでさらにテンションが上がったと思われるディランは「Mr. Tambourine Man」になるとキレッキレ。リアタイでは93年序盤のステージを捉えた音源ばかりがリリースされたことが同年のライブの印象をマニア間で薄くさせる原因になったと思われますが、この日のようなハイテンションなステージがリリースされていたら…と思わずにはいられません。
その点においては見過ごされがちな93年ディラン・ショウの真価を捉えた極上音源ともいえ、フェス出演らしいショートステージ故に一枚のディスクでサクッと聞けるのも大きな魅力。奇しくも今回は93年のディランがフェスのステージに上がってゲストが登場する極上音源が同時にリリースされることになりました。
この絶好調な一日を締めくくるに相応しく、フィナーレが「It Ain’t Me, Babe」まさかのスロー・バージョンというのが面白い。このようにショートステージながらハイテンションな演奏は聞きどころ満載、おまけにヴァン・モリソンまで登場という93年の魅力を凝縮したようなマニア感涙の極上オーディエンス・アルバム！
