The popular title that was once released by “Seymour Records” has been reorganized from Wisteria Records.
This is a compilation album with a concept that is unusual for a collector’s item, with Bob Dylan and Mike Bloomfield walking, mainly focusing on the brilliantly shining masterpiece “Like a Rolling Stone” in rock history. It’s a music documentary that reminds you of the journey.
First of all, in the session until the song is completed, you can follow the process of finishing from the alternate version which was the first triple time to the final form of rough mix. The live track will be followed by the first and final live performances by Dylan and Bloomfield. At the Newport Folk Festival, which debuted this song, Dylan, who reigned as the god of folk at that time, played a fierce electric rock with the Batafield blues band in the background, causing a whirlpool of pros and cons. Recorded historical moments with more powerful sound quality than the official DVD. And the reunion and final performance of this song’s original tag called Dylan + Bloomfield is recorded with the sound quality of the sound board level. In addition to “Like a Rolling Stone”, Dylan’s back is studded with tracks where Bloomfield’s guitar explodes, which should satisfy Bloomfield fans. Because the item released on “Seymour Records” was not Dylan but Mike Bloomfield’s name.
The difference from the Seymour version in this reorganization is that one alternate version of “Like a Rolling Stone” has been added and the track arrangement has been revised. And since the rough mix of the monumental album “Highway 61 Revisited” recorded in “Like A Rolling Stone”, which was the first limited bonus CDR in the Seymour version, was pressed as Disc 2, it was recorded on Disc 1. The rough mix of Tombstone Blues has been removed. Of course, all tracks are remastered and the sound quality is upgraded. If you listen to Disc 2 after listening to Disc 1, you should hear “Highway 61 Revisited” differently.
All sound sources are different from the official ones, and there are some rough cuts and noise, but this is the true value of the collector’s item. It is a real documentary that approaches the life of a musician.

かつて“シーモア・レコーズ”からリリースされていた人気タイトルが、ウィステリア・レコーズより装いも新たに再編され登場です。
これはコレクターズ・アイテムとしては珍しいコンセプトを持ったコンピレーション・アルバムで、ロック史上に燦然と輝く名曲『ライク・ア・ローリングストーン』に主に焦点を当てながら、ボブ・ディランとマイク・ブルームフィールドが歩んだ道のりを追想できる音楽ドキュメンタリーです。
まずは曲が出来上がるまでのセッションで、最初三拍子だったオルタネイト・ヴァージョンから最終形態のラフ・ミックスに仕上がっていく過程が辿れます。続いてライヴ・トラックではディランとブルームフィールドによる初のライヴ演奏、そして最後のライヴ演奏が収録されています。当曲初披露となったニューポート・フォーク・フェスティヴァルでは当時フォークの神様として君臨していたディランが、バタフィールド・ブルース・バンドをバックに、激しいエレクトリック・ロックを演奏した事で賛否の渦を巻き起こした歴史的瞬間が、オフィシャルDVDよりも迫力のある音質で収録。そしてディラン＋ブルームフィールドという当曲オリジナル・タッグの再会かつ最後となる演奏がサウンドボード・レヴェルの音質で収録されています。『ライク・ア・ローリングストーン』以外にもディランのバックでブルームフィールドのギターが炸裂するトラックがちりばめられており、ブルームフィールド・ファンにも満足していただけるはず。なぜなら“シーモア・レコーズ”でリリースされていたアイテムは、ディランではなくマイク・ブルームフィールド名義のアイテムだったのです。
今回再編にあたりシーモア版と変わった点は、『ライク・ア・ローリングストーン』のオルタネイト・ヴァージョンが1曲追加され、トラックの並びが見直された点。そしてシーモア版では初回限定のボーナスCDRだった、『ライク・ア・ローリングストーン』収録の金字塔アルバム“追憶のハイウェイ６１”のラフ・ミックスがディスク2としてプレスされたため、ディスク1に収録されていた『トゥームストーン・ブルース』のラフ・ミックスが削除された点です。もちろん全トラックごとにリマスターされ音質もアップ・グレード。ディスク1を聴いた後にディスク2を聴くと、“追憶のハイウェイ６１”もまた違って聴こえるはず。
全てオフィシャルとは別の音源が使われており、粗削りであったりノイズの混じる箇所もありますが、これこそコレクターズ・アイテムの真骨頂。ミュージシャンの生身に迫るリアル・ドキュメンタリーです。
