BLONDIE in 1978, who folded “PLASTIC LETTERS” and “PARALLEL LINES” and ran up the stairs of success. Introducing a TV broadcast pro shot that symbolizes such an era.
This work contains the famous West German program “Musikladen” that appeared over two meetings. Speaking of “Musikladen in 1978,” it’s a classic video that fans are familiar with, but it’s actually one of the two. This work is a compilation of two episodes, including the extremely rare episodes known to those in the know, with the highest peak master.
The two times are “January 21, 1978 Bremen” and “September 19, Bremen”. The January appearance was a famous classic video, and the September appearance was a rare. First, let’s check both positions on the schedule at that time.

This is BLONDIE in 1978. “PLASTIC LETTERS” was released in Japan at the end of 1977, but overseas it wasn’t until 1978. The January appearance of “Musikladen” was the first day of “Europe # 1” just before the release of such an album. And another September appearance is just before the next “PARALLEL LINES” release. It was the 21st performance of “Europe # 2”. This work is a piece that supplements the big classic “January appearance” as a bonus while focusing on the precious first appearance master of “September appearance”. ● Main (September appearances)
The main part of the first half of this work is “September appearances”. The order is reversed, but it is a pro shot whose existence itself has hardly been known so far. What is contained in this work is the highest peak master released by overseas enthusiasts very recently even with such precious images.
Actually, it is the highest image quality ever, but it is not the only one. As a matter of fact, there are two types of broadcasts in this “September appearance”, one is the original broadcast in 1978 (total length 42 minutes version), and the other is the rebroadcast by VH-1 (excerpt 28 minutes version). ). Of course, the quality is better for “VH-1 version”. This work makes the best use of this “VH-1 version” and supplements the missing 4 songs with the “1978 original version”. In total, the total length of the broadcast is 42 minutes.
Therefore, the image quality changes depending on the song, and there are some unstable parts in the “1978 original version” part of the four songs. However, it would be a big mistake if you imagined the image quality like the old VHS boot here. The color is vivid, there are almost no dubbing marks or crushing, and it is very easy to see (even Deborah’s no bra nipples that can be seen through the white costume can be clearly seen). It’s a wonderful thing that you can’t think of as a recording from the 70’s, and it’s just a “comparison” because it’s an official class that even surpasses the “VH-1 version”.

In the set, the previous 11 songs are bitten by the concentration reduction of the initial 2 pieces, but among them, only 3 songs are covered with the above “September appearance times”. そんな本作に収められているのは、２会に渡って出演した西ドイツの名物番組“Musikladen”。「1978年のMusikladen」と言えば、ファンにはお馴染みの定番映像ですが、実はそれは２回のうちの１回分。本作は、知る人ぞ知る激レア回も含めた２回分を丸ごと最高峰マスターでコンパイルした１枚なのです。
その２回とは「1978年１月21日ブレーメン」と「９月19日ブレーメン」。１月出演回が有名な定番映像であり、９月出演回がレア回でした。まずは、双方のポジションを当時のスケジュールで確認してみましょう。

これが1978年のBLONDIE。『PLASTIC LETTERS』の日本発売は1977年末でしたが、海外では1978年になってから。“Musikladen”の１月出演は、そんなアルバム発売の直前となる「欧州#1」の初日でした。そして、もう１つの９月出演は次の『PARALLEL LINES』発売直前。「欧州#2」の21公演目にあたるステージでした。本作は「９月出演回」の貴重な初登場マスターをメインにしつつ、大定番「１月出演回」をボーナス補填した１枚なのです。それでは、それぞれの映像を個別にご紹介していきましょう。

●メイン（９月出演回）
本作前半のメインになっているのが「９月出演回」。順序は逆ですが、これまで存在自体がほとんど知られてこなかったプロショットです。本作に収められているのは、そんな貴重映像でもごく最近になって海外マニアが公開した最高峰マスターです。
実際に過去最高の画質でもあるのですが、それだけではありません。実のところ、この「９月出演回」は２種の放送が存在し、１つは1978年のオリジナル放送（全長42分版）、もう１つはVH-1による再放送（抜粋28分版）があるのです。もちろん、クオリティは「VH-1版」の方が良い。本作は、この「VH-1版」を最大限活用しつつ、足りない４曲分を「78年オリジナル版」で補完。トータルで放送の全長42分を構成し直しているのです。
そのため曲によって画質が変わっており、４曲の「78年オリジナル版」パートではやや不安定な箇所もあります。しかし、ここで昔のVHSブートのような画質をイメージされたら大間違い。発色はビビッドですし、ダビング痕も潰れもほとんどなく、非常に見やすい（白衣装に透けるデボラのノーブラ乳首までハッキリ見えてしまいます）。70年代の録画とは思えない素晴らしさであり、単に「VH-1版」がさらに上回るオフィシャル級なために「比べちゃうとね」となるだけなのです。

その画質と併せてポイントなのが、内容そのもの。セットは初期２枚の濃縮還元で前11曲がブチかまされるのですが、その中で上記「９月出演回」と被っているのは３曲だけ。同じ番組に二度出演しているのでわざと選曲をズラしているのでしょうが、そのお陰で本作もバラエティ豊かな名曲群がたっぷりと楽しめるのです。ここでもセットを整理し、その多彩さを実感していただきましょう。
