Repeatedly visiting Japan with masterpieces, the reunited ASIA gave us fulfilling days beyond the golden age. An original recording that allows you to experience the best performances in Japan is now available.
The performance of “May 17, 2010: Osaka International Conference Center” is imbued in this work. It is the transcendental audience recording. Original ASIA, who reunited in 2006, came to Japan for performances almost every year. Those glorious days were already more than 10 years ago. In order to evoke that memory, let’s first review the outline of the visit to Japan during the reunion era.

This is the history of ASIA’s visit to Japan since the reunion. I came to Japan four times with the original formation and once with Sam Coulson on guitar. This work was recorded. At the original third “OMEGA Tour”. We have reported on the masterpiece live album in our shop, so let’s organize the collection by schedule here.

All five performances above. The Osaka performance of this work was the second to last concert. This position is actually very important. To tell the truth, the condition of the first day of the visit to Japan in 2010 was not good. Perhaps due to jet lag, he made a series of mistakes, and even Wetton’s vocals were not clear. After that, the second day of going to Europe, which showed recovery in just one day, became a hot topic, but it improved further. The second half of the tour was the real show.
And, although the content of such a show is wonderful, the sound of this work that conveys it is even more amazing! After all, this work was created by our familiar virtuoso “West Japan’s Strongest Taper”. 2010 is the beginning of the “strongest” collection, but this work sounds like the latest in 2022! It is always acclaimed as “just like a sound board”, but for this work, I would like to call it “like an official grade”. In fact, in 2010, there are genuine official live works “THE OMEGA TOUR LIVE” and “RESONANCE”, but even if you play them side by side, they are not inferior at all. The work is superior.
The full show of the “OMEGA Tour”, which will be the “second heyday”, is drawn with such an official sound. Finally, let’s organize the set while comparing it with the official live work.

“Anyway, the quality of the sound is mind-blowing.” After experiencing this work, the official sound board is too flimsy to listen to. It is truly a new masterpiece from Japan that boasts to the world.
Looking back now, the reunion ASIA was a wonderful and blissful era. Reunions of famous bands are usually enjoyed as remnants of the golden age, but ASIA was different. Classic songs from the past were played with great taste, and new songs were born one after another. And above all, he came to Japan again and again. Please remember that wonderful season with this work of super-superb sound.

名作と来日を繰り返し、黄金時代を超える充実した日々をくれた再結成ASIA。その日本公演を極上体験できるオリジナル録音が登場です。
そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「2010年５月17日：大阪国際会議場」公演。その超絶級オーディエンス録音です。2006年に再結成を果たしたオリジナルASIAは、毎年のように来日公演を行ってくれました。あの輝かしい日々もすでに10年以上前。その記憶を呼び起こす為にも、まずは再結成時代の来日概要をおさらいしておきましょう。

これが再結成以降のASIA来日史。オリジナル編成で四度、ギターをサム・クールソンに代えて一度来日しました。本作が記録されたのは。オリジナル三度目の“OMEGA Tour”でのこと。当店では傑作ライヴアルバムでレポートしてきましたので、ここで日程でコレクションを整理してみましょう。

以上の全５公演。本作の大阪公演は、最後から二番目のコンサートでした。実は、このポジションが意外と重要。実のところ2010年の来日は初日の調子が良くなかった。時差ボケでもあったのかミスを連発し、ウェットンのヴォーカルにしても冴えが見えなかったのです。その後、たった１日で復調してみせた渡欧強２日目が話題となったのですが、それからさらに改善。ツアー後半こそが本領発揮となったのです。
そして、そんなショウ内容も素晴らしいのですが、それを伝える本作のサウンドはもっとスゴい！　何しろ、本作を手掛けたのは当店お馴染みの名手“西日本最強テーパー”氏。2010年というと“最強”氏コレクションでも初期にあたるのですが、本作はまるで2022年の最新作のように超絶サウンド！　常に「まるでサウンドボード」と絶賛されるわけですが、本作に限っては「まるでオフィシャル級」と呼びたい。実際、2010年には正真正銘の公式ライヴ作『THE OMEGA TOUR LIVE』『RESONANCE』もあるわけですが、並べて再生してもまったく劣らない………どころか鮮やかさも、伸びやかさも、厚みも、クリアさも本作の方が上回っているのです。
そんなオフィシャル超えサウンドで描かれるのは、「二度目の全盛期」ともなる“OMEGA Tour”のフルショウ。最後に、公式ライヴ作と比較しながらセットも整理しておきましょう。

とにかく、ド肝を抜く音の良さ。本作を体験した後では、公式サウンドボードが薄っぺらくて聴いていられなくなります。まさに世界に誇る日本発の新名盤なのです。
今から振り返ると、再結成ASIAは何とも素晴らしい至福の時代でした。名バンドの再結成は黄金時代の名残を見つけるように味わうのが常なのに、ASIAは違った。往年の名曲も味わい深く演奏され、新たな名曲も次々と生まれていった。そして何より、何度何度も日本に来てくれた。あの素晴らしき季節、超極上サウンドの本作で存分に思いだしてください。
