The biggest shocking work in the history of music, “Bitches Brew”, which has removed the barriers of all genres as well as jazz. Miles Davis, known as the “Emperor” who has rewritten the history of jazz since the late 1940s, released this album in 1969, when he was 43 years old, the most greasy. History proves that it is said that the music scene has changed at once before and after the release of this work. This work was recorded for three days from August 19 to 21, 1969, and from here it was edited by producer Teo Macero, who is said to be Miles’s sword, in “Bitches Brew”.
Later, in commemoration of the decades of this “Bitches Brew”, a gorgeous box set titled “Complete Bitches Brew Sessions” was released, but when you open the lid, it’s just a name, everywhere ” The session of “Bitches Brew” was not recorded, and it was just a matter of storing the album and packing the other recorded sound sources. In other words, the session tape of “Bitches Brew” was not touched at all, and the result was that it left a stain as a fan angry mind item that the sound source unrelated to the album itself was decorated with a luxurious box. However, in order to reduce the drinking of fans after that, “Unreleased Bitches Brew Sessions” was fully released from the prestigious “So What!” Label, the monumental figure of Miles Collectors who is still supported by new Miles fans. Was released, and the recording session from August 19 to 21, 1969 was completely recorded for three historic days that did not see the light of day in the box set mentioned above, and from several other labels. The appearance with the highest quality sound using the true master tape that sets it apart from the items of was just shocking. At the end of 2020, decades after its release, under the supervision of the “So What!” Label, as the first of the new “Voodoo Down Records”, it was newly restored from the original master tape and improved. The final version of “Unreleased Bitches Brew Sessions Plus”, which has been graded and pressed with additional bonus tracks, is now available.
The three-day session of “Bitches Brew”, which is the axis, uses the original master of the “So What!” Label, and in consideration of the preciousness of the original, it is equalized because it has the best sound quality. not. In the “So What!” Label version, the session of each song was one track, but in this restore version, the chapters are subdivided and easy to listen to. In the first place, this item contains the entire studio session, which is valuable, but it is a little difficult in terms of “appreciating” because there are scenes such as chat and tuning by members, practice of individual parts, etc. Therefore, a new chapter was struck at the beginning of each “performance” at the time of this restoration. As a result, you can immediately enjoy a performance that is different from the original “Bitches Brew”. And the bonus track of interest uses the original master of the “So What!” Label. Includes the 1970 session “So What” that was auditioned by Steve Grossman from “Another Jack Johnson”. John McLaughlin also took a guitar solo with Grossman’s powerful solo, and it is a frenzied dance “So Watt” completely different from the version recorded in the album “Kind of Blue”. And another session “Go Ahead” held in 1970 is recorded. With Billy Cobham as a drummer, John McLaughlin is a combination of Mahavishnu Orchestra. Michael Henderson, who became the main pillar of Miles in the 70’s, also participated, and Cobham’s drum play shows a later funk tendency. The sound quality of the two bonus songs has been significantly upgraded by remastering, and the contours of the reed instruments and drums that were a little buried are clearly revived. Both sessions are rare tracks that are difficult to obtain, and the members are close to the main story, so it is a very nifty recording.
It will be the release of the long-awaited permanent preservation press board, obi, and final definitive edition. You can’t talk about Miles without buying this! It is no exaggeration to say that. A must-have collection item on the shelves of all music lovers!

ジャズのみならずすべてのジャンルの垣根を取っ払ってしまった音楽史上最大の衝撃作、大名盤『ビッチェズ・ブリュー』。1940年代後半からジャズの歴史を塗り替えてきた”帝王”と呼ばれるマイルス・デイヴィスが、最も脂の乗った43歳の1969年に発表したのがこのアルバム。現在ではこの作品の発表前と後では音楽シーンが一気に転換してしまったといわれている事を歴史が証明しています。この作品がレコーディングされたのは1969年8月19から21日の三日間で、ここからマイルスの懐刀といわれるプロデューサーのテオ・マセロによって編集されたのが『ビッチェズ・ブリュー』なのです。
後にこの『ビッチェズ・ブリュー』何十周年記念とやらで、『コンプリート・ビッチェズ・ブリュー・セッションズ』というタイトルの豪華なボックス・セットがリリースされたものの、蓋を開けてみればそれは名ばかり、どこにも『ビッチェズ・ブリュー』のセッションは収録されておらず、アルバムをまんま収めて他はその後にレコーディングされた音源を詰め込んだだけという有様。つまり『ビッチェズ・ブリュー』のセッション・テープには一切手を付けず、アルバムそのままと無関係音源を豪華な箱で飾り付けたというファン怒り心頭アイテムとして汚点を残す結果となってしまったのでした。しかし、その後ファンの溜飲を下げるべく、未だに新たなマイルス・ファンに支持され続けるマイルス・コレクターズの金字塔、名門“So What!”レーベルから満を持して『アンリリースド・ビッチェズ・ブリュー・セッションズ』がリリースされ、前述のボックス・セットでは日の目を見ることのなかった歴史的な3日間、1969年8月19から21日のレコーディング・セッションが完全収録という内容で、さらに他の幾つかのレーベルからのアイテムとは一線を画す真のマスター・テープが使用された極上高音質での登場はとにかく衝撃的でした。そのリリースからも数十年が経った2020年末、“So What!”レーベル責任監修のもと新鋭“ヴードゥーダウン・レコーズ”第一弾として、オリジナル・マスター・テープから新たにリストアしてよりアップ・グレードされ、さらにボーナス・トラックが追加されプレスされた最終決定版『アンリリースド・ビッチェズ・ブリュー・セッションズ・プラス』がここにリリースとなったのです。
軸となる『ビッチェズ・ブリュー』の三日間のセッションは“So What!”レーベルのオリジナル・マスターが使用されており、オリジナルの貴重性を鑑み、さらにもとより極上音質であることからイコライジングは施しておりません。“So What!”レーベル版では各曲のセッションが一つのトラックになっていたのに対しこのレストア版ではチャプターが細分化され聴きやすくなっています。そもそもこのアイテムはスタジオ・セッションがまるまる収められておりそれこそが貴重な訳ですが、メンバーによるチャットやチューニング、個人パートの練習などのシーンもあるため“鑑賞する”という点でやや難ありであったため、今回のレストアにあたりそれぞれ“演奏”の始まりに新たなチャプターが打たれました。これによりオリジナル『ビッチェズ・ブリュー』とは違う演奏が即座に楽しめるようになったのです。そして注目のボーナス・トラックは、やはり“So What!”レーベルのオリジナル・マスターを使用。『アナザー・ジャック・ジョンソン』に収録されていたスティーヴ・グロスマンのオーディション的に行われた1970年のセッション『ソー・ホワット』を収録。グロスマンの強力なソロにつられジョン・マクラフリンもギター・ソロをとった、アルバム『カインド・オブ・ブルー』収録バージョンとは全く別の狂喜乱舞な『ソー・ワット』です。そしてもうひとつ70年に行われたセッション『ゴー・アヘッド』を収録。ドラマーにビリー・コブハムを迎えてジョン・マクラフリンとはマハヴィシュヌ・オーケストラのコンビ。70年代マイルスの大黒柱となるマイケル・ヘンダーソンも参加しており、コブハムのドラム・プレイは後のファンク傾向を匂わせます。ボーナス収録された二曲はリマスタリングにより音質がかなりアップ・グレードされており、埋もれ気味だったリード楽器やドラムスの輪郭が鮮明に蘇っています。どちらのセッションも入手困難なレア・トラックで、かつメンバーが本編と近いため非常に気の利いた収録です。
もうこれ以上は何も望めない強力な内容、待望の永久保存となるプレス盤、帯付、最終決定版のリリースとなります。これを買わずしてマイルスは語れない！と言って決して過言ではありません。すべての音楽愛好家の棚に並ぶべき必須のコレクション・アイテムです！
