During the “ODYSSEY” era, collaboration with Joe Lynn Turner created a miraculous compatibility. A new excavated live album that connects that missing link is now available.
What is inscribed in this work is “July 25, 1988 Toronto Performance”. This is an exquisite audience recording. I think most people would say “???” even if they were suddenly told that there was a “missing link.” In order to explain the meaning of this, let’s look back at the overall picture of the “Joe Lynn Turner era” along with his representative works to date.

《“TRIAL BY FIRE” released on October 12th》

This is a panoramic view of Joe’s activities. The Toronto performance of this work was the 46th concert of “North America #2”, which was the main leg. This “North America #2” is the “missing link”. To be honest, the most common recordings from the Joe era are from Japan, followed by the “European” leg. Despite having the largest number of performances, “North America #2” has few sound sources, and until now there was only the audience video “DETROIT ODYSSEY”. This work is also a live album that explains such “unknown main battlefield”.
This work, which conveys such a show, is a clear recording with a clear atmosphere that touches your heart. It is a new excavation master brought through our store’s own route, but that route is the route of those involved who have repeatedly released KISS’s shocking soundboard/pro shots and are shaking collectors all over the world. It seems that he is not related to Yngwie, but perhaps the records of the secret treasures are gathered where they are gathered…? In any case, what flows from such a treasure master is a beautiful sound full of freshness and reality. I would never mistake it for a sound board, but it’s crystal clear anyway. Yngwie’s rapid fire and Joe’s every word reach every detail without clouding or blurring.
With such a vivid and clear sound, the full show of “North America #2” will be performed with explosive tension. First of all, let’s set it up. Let’s organize it by comparing it with the official video “TRIAL BY FIRE”, which is a symbol of the Joe era, and the performance in Japan.

●Odyssey (7 songs)
・Rising Force/Deja Vu/Crystal Ball/Heaven Tonight/Now Is The Time(★)/Dreaming (Tell Me)/Faster Than The Speed Of Light(★)
●Others (8 songs + α)
・Trilogy: Liar/Queen In Love/You Don’t Remember, I’ll Never Forget (incl. Street Of Dreams)
・Others: Icarus’ Dream Suite Opus 4 (★★) / Far Beyond The Sun / I’ll See The Light Tonight (★)
・Cover: Black Star/Purple Haze (★)
*Note: Songs marked with “★” were not heard on the official “TRIAL BY FIRE (video version)”. In particular, the songs marked with “★★” were not performed at the Japan performance.

…and it looks like this. There are no songs that can be said to be extremely rare as I have already reported many works on the “ODYSSEY Tour”, but what is shocking is the performance itself. The explosive tension that I have never heard before explodes. This is clear from the opening song, “Rising Force,” where the song suddenly explodes at an incredible speed. The speed was so typical of thrash metal that I thought the pitch was off (even when adjusted correctly, the tempo was frightening). To put it bluntly, they were unable to control their explosive speed, and managed to finish the song with a feeling that both the solo and the texture were on the verge of collapse.
At that point, I took a breather…and was surprised at how fast “Liar” followed. The tempo wasn’t just a result of a mistake, but the tension itself was broken. And in this “Liar”, the ensemble finally collapses. It seems like he finally regained his senses after a humorous break in the middle. After that, the show started to progress smoothly, but the tension itself remained high. The audience is also hitting a different level of enthusiasm from Japan and Europe, and even though they must have heard the “ODYSSEY Tour” many times, it is very fresh.
Maybe it was because Joe, an American, was at the front, or because “ODYSSEY” was a hit… Either way, “North America #2” was filled with a different kind of excitement than in other countries. This work is a sonic evidence that conveys such a scene. A new masterpiece that can’t be heard anywhere else, brought to you through a unique route. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content!

★Excellent audience recording of “July 25, 1988 Toronto Performance”. This is a new master discovered through our own unique route, and is a clear masterpiece recording in which the clear atmosphere is penetrated by the vivid performance sound like a laser beam. Yngwie’s rapid fire and Joe’s every word reach every detail without clouding or blurring. This is a new masterpiece that allows you to experience the US tour, which was full of excitement, such as the explosively fast “Rising Force” and the collapsing “Liar”.
