The so-called “classical white snake” that played the essence of British blues rock with Bernie Marsden and Ian Paice. Recently, the best recordings of that era have been recorded in Japan, but this work is the latest and greatest masterpiece. It is a transcendental audience recording of the performance of “April 15, 1980: Nakano Sunplaza”.

Actually, even if I listened to “TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT” again, I couldn’t help but say “It’s superb …”, but this work is even clearer. Even if the direct feeling of the on-core is five minutes, the sound emitted from it shines in the transparency of the crystal. If the outline of each note is vivid, the edge is sharp, and on top of that, the “clearance” that exists between the notes is deep. For those who love “sounding dynamism”, even if you have this work, “after all” TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT “may be the pinnacle”, but the general “soundboard-like / clearer” On the scale, this work will be better off.
There is also a reason for that transcendental sound. As some of you may have expected, this work is by the same recorder as “TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT”. The collection is the same as “OSAKA 1981 1ST NIGHT (Zodiac 447)” and “2ND NIGHT (Zodiac 448)” of “COME AND GET IT Tour”, but apparently the goddess of recording smiled when she first came to Japan. 【姉妹作が刻んだ最高記録をあっさり更新した衝撃発掘】
以上が全８公演だった初来日。２本の流出サウンドボードが有名ですが、他にも傑作オーディエンス録音が量産。本作の舞台となった中野サンプラザ公演も『SNEAKING UP ON YOU』なるプレス名盤が大定番として君臨していました。本作は、その『SNEAKING UP ON YOU』を凌駕……と、ヤメヤメ。そういう話じゃない。本作の立つ基準とは「○○公演のベスト」とか「○○年のトップ」とかではありません。伝説の初来日ぜーんぶのNo.1録音。それどころか、クラシック白蛇すべてのオーディエンス録音でも１位となるであろう、「王の中の王」なのです。もちろん、今の今まで初来日の最高峰だったのは、数週間前にリリースされた『TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT（Zodiac 446）』で、上記した傑作群をすべて凌駕。サウンドボードはおろかオフィシャル作品にさえ匹敵するサウンドで王座に就きました。しかし、本作はその頂点を早くも（飛び）超えてしまったのです。
実のところ、『TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT』を今聴き直しても「やっぱり超絶級だ……」とタメ息が漏れるのですが、本作はさらにヌケが良くクリア。オンな芯のダイレクト感は五分だとしても、そこから発せられる鳴りがクリスタルの透明感に輝いているのです。１音１音の輪郭も鮮やかならエッジも鋭く、その上でノートの間に存在する”スキマ”まで深い。「鳴りのダイナミズム」を愛する方には本作を持ってしても「やっぱり『TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT』こそ頂点」となるかも知れませんが、一般的な「よりサウンドボード的／より鮮明」の尺度では本作に軍配が上がるのです。
それだけの超絶サウンドにも理由がある。もう予想の付いている方もいらっしゃると思いますが、本作は『TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT』と同じ録音家による作品。“COME AND GET IT Tour”の『OSAKA 1981 1ST NIGHT（Zodiac 447）』『同2ND NIGHT（Zodiac 448）』とも同じコレクションなのですが、どうやら録音の女神が微笑んだのは初来日の方。1981年物も大きく上回る超傑作です。
【真骨頂を見せつける絶好調の大名演】
そんな新帝王サウンドで描かれるのは、初来日ならではの熱い熱いフルショウ。『TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT』解説ではセット分析をしませんでしたので、ここで整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。実のところ、日本初日だった『TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT』にはトラブル連続のスリルとリカバリーの面白味がありましたが、それは言ってしまえば邪道。本作はまったく逆でミスらしいミスもなく、本領発揮。本来の魅力と凄味を「これでもか！」と叩きつけてくる絶好調の大名演なのです。
しかも、ラストにもちゃんと「We Wish You Well」付き。別に『TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT』が録音漏れだったわけではなく初日には流れなかった（これもトラブル？）のですが、中野からは使用。爽やかなメロディの中でカヴァデールが「ドモアリガト、東京」とつぶやく感動のフィナーレまで完璧に味わう事ができるのです。
