The collection of “Stephane” is a hot topic among HR/HM collectors with a series of masterpiece recordings from the early 90’s. The latest edition of the best recordings from the Steve Vai era will be released at the same time!
This work is the second of two simultaneous releases. This is the best audience recording of “September 3, 1990 Paris Performance”. This “Stephane” work is not two sister works, but three sister works, including the recently released “DORTMUND 1990: DEFINITIVE MASTER (Shades 1821)”. Let’s check the schedule to see which is the older sister work and which is the younger sister work.
We will leave the entire view of the world tour to the explanation of “MANNHEIM 1990 (Shades 1848)” released at the same time, but here we will focus on the “European” leg, which was a rich production of famous recordings.

●“Europe” leg details
・August 8th-12th (4 performances)
*August 18: Donnington performance ← *Official
*August 21st “SLIP OF THE GLOBE (Stockholm)”
・August 23rd: Berlin performance
*August 25th “DORTMUND 1990: DEFINITIVE MASTER”
・August 26th-30th (3 performances)
*September 1st “MANNHEIM 1990”
*September 3rd: Paris performance ←★This work★
・September 4th-8th (3 performances)

This is the European leg of the “SLIP OF THE TONGUE Tour”. “DORTMUND 1990: DEFINITIVE MASTER”, “MANNHEIM 1990”, and this work are the “Stephane recording trilogy”, and this work is the youngest work of the latter stage.
The sound of this work is unique among the three sisters’ works. The individuality of Stephane, who is known for his exceptionally direct feel, is alive in this work, but in this work, the vocals are outstanding and amazing. The extremely tight singing voice is so sharp that it’s hard to believe that it was recorded with a microphone, and the nuances contained in not only each word of the lyrics but even each syllable are clear. To use a modern analogy, it’s like synchronizing a vocal earphone sound source with an audience recording of a band performance. Of course, the band sound is of the highest quality, but at the same time it is a vocal album that allows you to enjoy Coverdale’s singing voice to the fullest.
What is depicted with such a unique and exquisite sound is a full show from the super unique Vai era. The set is the same as the official “LIVE AT DONINGTON 1990” and sister work “DORTMUND 1990″, but let’s organize it here just in case.

●Slip of the Tongue
・Slip Of The Tongue (★) / Judgment Day / Kittens Got Claws (★) / Cheap An’ Nasty (★) / Fool For Your Loving
●Classics (8 songs + α)
・Serpens Albus: Is This Love/Crying In The Rain/Here I Go Again/Bad Boys (incl. Children Of The Night)/Still Of The Night
・Others: Slide It In/Slow An’ Easy/Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City
*Note: Songs marked with “★” are limited to this tour only.

…and it looks like this. “Slip Of The Tongue,” “Kittens Got Claws,” and “Cheap An’ Nasty,” which you can’t hear on other tours, are delicious, and the classics are also vividly seasoned with Vai’s top quality. Also, if you look at it from the perspective of Vai’s fans. It is extremely valuable to be able to hear his guitar in a normal style HR song that is easy to listen to. There’s no doubt that this is a unique combination that won’t last long, but that’s why you can fully enjoy the “Gorgeous HR that is unique to you” that is different from WHITESNAKE from any other era… no, from any other band.
I had no idea that the popular “Stephane” had recorded WHITESNAKE from the same tour three times. And even beyond borders. “DORTMUND 1990” has sparkling clarity, “MANNHEIM 1990” has dynamism, and this is a tight vocal album. A masterpiece made by three beautiful sisters who loved the unusual Steve Vai era. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

★Excellent audience recording of “September 3, 1990 Paris Performance”. The latest installment of the much-talked-about “Stephane” collection, a sister work that forms a trilogy with “DORTMUND 1990 (Shades 1821)” and “MANNHEIM 1990 (Shades 1848).” It has a unique sound among the three sisters’ works, and the tightness of the vocals is especially great. It’s like synchronizing the vocal earphone sound source with an audience recording of a band performance. This is a new masterpiece that allows you to fully experience the unique Steve Vai era with a super unique sound.

これが“SLIP OF THE TONGUE Tour”の欧州レッグ。

他のツアーでは聴けない「Slip Of The Tongue」「Kittens Got Claws」「Cheap An’ Nasty」は美味しいですし、クラシックスもヴァイ一流の味付けが鮮烈。
