Rare Video Collection Of The Early Years. PRO-SHOT

This work is a summary of images gathered by overseas maniacers with full power. Among overseas collectors, it is distributed separately from “THE EARLY DAYS” of one piece and “THE EARLY DAYS VOL. 2” of two sets, but in this work all of them are made into one set of 3DVDR did.
Disk 1 is “THE EARLY DAYS”. It was written in PV and a representative audience shot at the extreme early period from debut 1978 to 1980. Recording is time series, and between PV 8 songs of “WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST” from “VAN HALEN”, the representative audience · live of 3 tour “Fresno performance on September 22, 1978” “Fresno performance on 25th March 1979 “” St. Paul performance on 13th April 1980 “is interposed. Every video has the highest quality ever, and the familiar PV also seems to have thought that “such a beautiful picture has remained”. In addition to the 1978 Fresno performance just after debut, the same venue image of the next 1979 was the first day of “WORLD VACATION TOUR 1979”. Both of them are ultra valuable images that are dazzling.
The following discs 2 and 3 are “THE EARLY DAYS VOL. 2”. This is a sequel to Disk 1, and I’m gossip all about the images from the TV appearance of my first visit to Japan “1984” era. You can watch plenty of detailed television appearance, PV, audience live in chronological order.
Anyway, from the beginning of the first television appearance that jumps out from the beginning, the era feeling is terrible. Suddenly it is surprisingly surprised from handwritten Japanese telop “4th place”, but as it is, you will be a student with a uniform appearance and “You Really Got Me” mime performance. I’m not sure if they are really fans or just a group of school excursions gathered in front of the television station, but “Edie” like ripe silk as idle flies over. Besides, the facilitator woman is dedicated to advancing the program and the program while asking the prepared question. It is a masterpiece picture that makes the staff, audiences, and bands doing it safely but “something is different” feeling frank.
Even after that, super-precious live video and TV appearances come out in chronological order one after another. On the other hand, live is a genuine valuable picture. Although there are many audience images, in “PINK POP FESTIVAL” in 1980, you can see a realistic appearance of bands encountering fans’ sign attacks, as well as “Auckland on June 10, 1981” and “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1984” It is packed with impeccable pro shots as well.

While listening to the convenience of collecting rare images as a whole, it is a collection of images with a strong aroma of era by chasing the initial VAN HALEN in chronological order. It is 3 hours and 40 minutes that fascinates the era feeling that was in the background of this era with eyes and enhances the image altogether.

本作は、海外マニアが全力で集めた映像をまとめたもの。海外のコレクター間では、１枚モノの「THE EARLY DAYS」、２枚組の「THE EARLY DAYS VOL.2」と分かれて流通していますが、本作ではそれら総てを３DVDRの１セットにしました。
ディスク１は、「THE EARLY DAYS」。デビュー時の1978年から1980年までの極初期をPVと代表的オーディエンスショットで綴ったもの。収録は時系列で、「VAN HALEN」から「WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST」のPV８曲の合間に、３ツアーの代表オーディエンス・ライヴ「1978年９月22日フレズノ公演」「1979年３月25日フレズノ公演」「1980年４月13日セントポール公演」が挟まる構成。どの映像も過去最高クオリティで、お馴染みのPVも「こんなに綺麗な映像が残ってたのか」と思うほどです。さらにデビュー直後の1978年フレズノ公演はもとより、翌1979年の同会場映像も“WORLD VACATION TOUR 1979”の初日。どちらも目も眩むような超貴重映像です。
続くディスク２・３は、「THE EARLY DAYS VOL.2」。こちらはディスク１の続編で、初来日のテレビ出演から「1984」時代までの映像をゴッソリ総ざらい。細かなテレビ出演、PV、オーディエンスライヴを時系列にたっぷりと観ることができます。
なにしろ、冒頭から飛び出す初来日のテレビ出演からして、むせ返るような時代感が凄い。いきなり「第４位」という手書きの日本語テロップから驚きますが、そのまま制服姿の学生を観客にして「You Really Got Me」マイム演奏。本当にファンなのか、ただ修学旅行の一行がテレビ局前で集められたのか分かりませんが、アイドルさながらに絹を裂くような「エデー」が飛び交います。その上、進行役の女性は用意した質問をしながらテキパキと番組を進めることに専心。スタッフ、観客、バンドとも無難にこなしていますが「何かが違う」感がこそばゆくなる傑作映像です。
その後も超貴重ライヴ映像やテレビ出演が時系列に次々と出てくる。テレビ出演はほとんどがマイムですが、年を追うごとにカメラ映えしていくデイヴ・リー・ロスを観るだけでも楽しいですし、何もない空中に向かってコーラスするエディ＆マイケルや「それ、届かないだろ」と突っ込みたくなるほど離れたアレックスのスネアなど、マイムなのをいいことにトンチンカンな準備をしているテレビ局も可笑しい。
その一方で、ライヴは正真正銘の貴重映像。オーディエンス映像が多いですが、1980年の“PINK POP FESTIVAL”では、ファンのサイン攻めに遭うバンドのリアルな姿も見れますし、「1981年６月10日オークランド」や「MONSTERS OF ROCK 1984」のように申し分ないプロショットも満載です。

レア映像を総まとめした便利さもさることながら、初期VAN HALENを時系列に追うことで時代感覚が強烈に匂い立つ映像集です。この時代の背景にあった時代感覚を目で魅せ、イメージを存分に高めてくれる3時間40分。
