impact. What a shock!!! The professional shot footage of the “1984 Tour”, which was at its peak, was unexpectedly newly discovered! An emergency release has been decided on a press DVD that will permanently preserve the masters of the people involved who will shake the whole world!!
What is engraved on this work is “Donington Performance August 18, 1984”. This is a one-camera professional shot taken when he was a semi-finalist for the UK’s biggest rock festival “MONSTERS OF ROCK” (the big festival was AC/DC…what an amazing festival!). Until now, the TV broadcast pro shot of “Hot For Teacher” has been known, but this work is completely different from that. It is a master of related parties brought through our store’s own route, and it is a long professional shot that appears for the first time, lasting approximately 67 minutes.

●Shocking professional shots discovered through unique stakeholder routes
The mere presence of the video makes me dizzy, but the content is also extremely unique and intense. This video is a little different from what you would normally think of when you hear the word “pro shot”, and was taken for material purposes by the staff who were on stage with the members. It was captured with one camera from the left sleeve of the stage (Michael Anthony side), and the audio was recorded from a microphone rather than a line. There are some cuts in the song, probably because of the material.
This may make you think I’m being rude when I write it like this, but it’s outrageous. First of all, the image quality is excellent. The screen appears to have been shot on film, but there is no dubbing deterioration like with video, and there is no flickering or distortion as there is no broadcasting involved. Although it has the feel of a documentary film, it has a completely official level of visual beauty.
The route of those involved that brought about such mastery is actually familiar to our store. In our store, we have introduced a large number of KISS’s new excavation masters that only those involved can have, and this work was also excavated from that route.

●Experience the climax of the “1984 Tour” right before your eyes
In fact, this work is a series of scenes that could only happen to the people involved. When the shooting begins with the staff’s clapperboard, we are suddenly backstage. The members are chatting with the staff and family, and David Lee Roth is also warming up while wearing flashy stage costumes (by the way, the backstage part is not overlaid with audio). It’s silent).
Then, when they ran out onto the stage, they found themselves at a historical stage site where a large crowd, typical of “MONSTERS OF ROCK”, was waiting for them. Here too, the staff are using clapperboards and are in full insider mode, but what’s even more amazing is the closeness of the members. I almost collided with Dave, who was wearing a glittering costume, and when I reached out my hand, Michael was running wild just as I was touching him. The camera catches up on the highlights of each member, but the main character is still Dave. The show-offs, roundhouse kicks, and pranks on the edge of the stage unfold right before your eyes.
Of course, Dave isn’t the only one. You can enjoy Michael and Eddie’s historic guitar solos jumping off the drum eraser and stepping on the bass, and even Alex supporting Dave’s sword fight with the beat, with a close-up feel that is typical of professional shots. A little surprising are “I’ll Wait” and “Jump.” Here, not only Eddie but also Michael stands in front of the keyboard and plays with double synth. In the previous indoor audience shots, the stage details that were only slightly visible at the edge of the screen can be seen in the close-up. The flashy and diverse viewpoints make you forget that it was shot with a single camera.

●Documentary feel of a historical grand stage
Such a climax performance alone is enough to move us to tears, but this work is even more amazing in its documentary feel. A number of fans came up to the stage trying to hug Dave, who looked like a star, but the staff tackled them and grabbed them out. During “On Fire,” the MC warned the audience who stopped playing and threw a bottle, saying, “If you do that again, we’ll stop the show.” He then goes on to say, “I’m going to fuck your girlfriend after the show!” In modern times, he would be an MC who would be under fire for his controversial comments, but in 1984 he was probably the ideal image of a wild rock guy. This work was also met with great applause. In this way, a number of scenes that could only be imagined from audience recordings will occur right in front of your eyes.

The excitement continues even after the live show is over. Filming continues backstage, just like the opening part, and even John Entwistle and Neal Schon are there. THE WHO and JOURNEY weren’t performing, they probably just came to have fun. The excitement of the staff, who can’t help but roll their cameras at the sight of these stars, is realistically shown.

“1984 Tour” is the greatest unexplored area in VAN HALEN history… no, in rock history. Although it was the ultimate era when the original VH reached its peak, there were desperately few live records, and even the roaring audience recordings were treated as treasures. Although it was a one-camera shot of the scene, I never thought I would be able to witness it in a long professional shot. そんな本作に刻まれているのは「1984年８月18日ドニントン公演」。英国最大のロック・フェス“MONSTERS OF ROCK”の準トリ（大トリはAC/DC・・・なんて凄いフェス！)を務めた際のワンカメ・プロショットです。これまでも「Hot For Teacher」のTV放送プロショットが知られてきましたが、本作はそれとはまったくの別物。当店の独自ルートでもたらされた関係者マスターで、約67分に及ぶ初登場の長尺プロショットなのです。

●独自の関係者ルートで発掘された衝撃プロショット
もう、映像の存在だけで目眩がするのですが、内容的にも超個性的かつ強烈。この映像は通常「プロショット」の言葉で思い浮かべるものとは少し異なりまして、メンバーと共にステージ上にいるスタッフが資料用に撮影したもの。ステージの左袖（マイケル・アンソニー側）からワンカメで捉えており、音声はラインではなくマイク録音。資料のせいか曲中のカットもあります。
と、こう書くとショボく思われてしまうかも知れませんが、とんでもない。まず画質が強烈。フィルム撮影と思しき画面にはビデオのようなダビング劣化が見当たらず、放送などを一切介していないだけにちらつき、歪みもない。記録映画的な風合いながら完全オフィシャル級の映像美なのです。
それだけのマスターをもたらした関係者ルートは、実は当店お馴染み。当店では関係者だけが持ちうるKISSの新発掘マスターを大量にご紹介してきましたが、本作もそのルートから発掘されたものなのです。

●絶頂の“1984 Tour”を目の前感覚で体験
実際、本作は関係者でしかあり得ないシーンの連続。スタッフのカチンコで撮影が始まるといきなりのバックステージ。メンバーがスタッフや家族と談笑しており、デイヴッド・リー・ロスもド派手なステージ衣装に身を包みつつ、準備運動をしているのです（ちなみに、バックステージ・パートは音声が被せられておらず、サイレントです）。
そして、ステージへと駆け出すとそこは“MONSTERS OF ROCK”らしい大群衆が待ち構える歴史的なステージ現場。ここでもスタッフがカチンコを使っていて関係者モード全開なのですが、それ以上にスゴいのがメンバーの間近感。ギラギラ衣装のデイヴとぶつかりそうになり、手を伸ばすと触れる位置でマイケルが大暴れしている。カメラは各メンバーの見どころを追いつつ、やはり主役はデイヴ。ビッシビシと決めまくる見栄も回し蹴りもステージ端でのイタズラもすぐ目の前で繰り広げられる。
もちろん、デイヴだけではない。ドラムイライザーから飛び降りてベースを踏んづけるマイケルやエディの歴史的なギターソロ、さらにはデイヴの殺陣をビートで支えるアレックスもプロショットらしい間近感で楽しめる。ちょっと意外なのが「I’ll Wait」や「Jump」。ここではエディだけでなくマイケルもキーボードの前に立ち、ダブル・シンセで弾いている。これまでの屋内オーディエンス・ショットでは画面の端っこにチョコッと映っている程度だったステージのディテールもドアップで分かる。そのド派手で多彩な視点は、ワンカメ撮影なのを忘れます。

●歴史的な大舞台のドキュメント感
そんな絶頂パフォーマンスだけでも感涙モノなのですが、本作はさらにドキュメント感までスゴい。スター然としたデイヴに抱きつこうとするファンが何人もステージに上がってきたりもするのですが、それをスタッフがタックルで抑え込み、つまみ出していく。「On Fire」では演奏を止めてボトルを投げ込む観客に「今度　やったらショウを止めるぞ」とMCで警告。さらには「ショウが終わったら、お前のガールフレンドをファックしてやるからな！」と畳みかけるのです。現代だったら問題発言で炎上しそうなMCですが、1984年ではワイルドなロック野郎の理想像だったのでしょう。本作でも盛大な大歓声が沸いている。このように、これまでオーディエンス録音から想像するしかなかった光景の数々がすぐ目の前で起きていくのです。

そんな見応えは、ライヴが終わっても続く。開演パートと同じようにバックステージでも撮影が続いており、そこにはジョン・エントウィッスルやニール・ショーンまでいる。THE WHOやJOURNEYが出演していたわけではなく、恐らく彼らは遊びに来ただけ。そんなスター達の姿に思わずカメラを回してしまうスタッフの興奮度までリアルに映し出されているのです。
