　これが1985年のトム・ペティ。『PACK UP THE PLANTATION: LIVE!』のメイン公演だったのは「８月７日ウィルターン・シアター公演」でした。そう、本作は公式ライヴアルバムと同会場２連続公演の前日にあたるわけです（また『PACK UP THE PLANTATION: LIVE!』は映像篇もありましたが、そちらは“８月６日＋７日”の２公演の合成でした）。
　そんなショウはラジオ放送されたことでも知られており、本作は最近になって公開されたベスト・マスター。そのサウンドは、まさに「完全オフィシャル級」。前述のように公式作品の一部にも使用されているので当たり前と言えば当たり前なのですが、音質もミックスもカンペキ。それこそ『PACK UP THE PLANTATION: LIVE!』と混ぜて再生しても何ら劣るところがないのです。
　そんな公式クオリティで画かれるのは「もう１つのPACK UP THE PLANTATION: LIVE!」とも呼べるショウ。セットは映像版『PACK UP THE PLANTATION: LIVE!』と同一でして、ライヴアルバム版とは異なる。ここではアルバム版と比較しながら整理しておきましょう。
