THIN LIZZY, an Irish hero who was born in 1969 and ran through a short history of 14 years. A new excavation live album that conveys the final performance is now available.
Speaking of THIN LIZZY’s last show, “September 4, 1983 Nuremberg performance”. This is an audience recording when I participated in the MONSTERS OF ROCK tour in West Germany. This show has been known for recording for a long time and is familiar in our shop with “FAREWELL TOUR 1983 (Shades 295)”. However, this work is a new master different from that. It’s not a difference in gene, but a completely different recording.
Before the content of concern, first of all, the position of the show itself. Speaking of the Sykes era, there are many official live albums and videos, and the recently released “MONSTERS OF ROCK: KAISERSLAUTERN 1983 (Shades 1314)” is also very popular. Let’s check them together according to the schedule at that time.

・ January 26-March 3: UK # 1 (21 performances) ← * Official Hitchin video
<< March 4th “THUNDER AND LIGHTNING” released >>
・ March 6-April 10: UK # 2 (24 performances) ← * Official LIFE / Dublin video
・ April 27-May 4: Europe (6 performances)
・ May 17-23: Japan (5 performances)
《Tour ends once》
・ August 28: Reading Festival appearance ← * Official BBC RADIO ONE
・ September / February: Dortmund performance (MOR)
・ September March “KAISERSLAUTERN 1983”
・ September / April: Nuremberg performance (MOR) ← ★ This work ★

This is THIN LIZZY in 1983. In addition to this, there was also a solo performance by Phil Lynott, but I summarized it only with THIN LIZZY. “THUNDER AND LIGHTNING Tour” ended in May in Japan, but three months later, Reading Festival and MONSTERS OF ROCK Tour will be added. As a result, it was officially disbanded with the Nuremberg performance of this work.
This work recorded on such a memorial night is a new excavation recording that is also a sister work of the popular “KAISERSLAUTERN 1983 (Shades 1314)”. This time as well, it was discovered as the “G.Mann” collection, which is also a hot topic, and it is also a brand that originated from the 1st Gene Master.
The sound is clear and powerful. The core also vividly jumps into your ears, and the details are very clear. I felt a little distance from the conventional recording, but this work has a powerful core in front of me. Sykes’ machine gun picking is also vividly driven into the outline of each shot, and Phil’s vocals can be clearly understood word by word. As a matter of fact, the stability is not good in the first half because there is a poor contact on the left channel, but that also gradually improved. In the middle stage “Emerald”, it stabilizes quickly, and in the latter half after that, you can fully enjoy the finest sound with a great direct feeling.
The final performance of the set, which is different from “KAISERSLAUTERN 1983”, is drawn with such a straight ball sound. Speaking of the symbol board of this period, it is the official “BBC RADIO ONE”, so let’s organize it while comparing.

・ Nightlife: Still in Love With You
・ Fighting !!: Rosalie
・ Jailbreak: Jailbreak / Emerald / Cowboy Song / The Boys Are Back in Town
・ Live & Dangerous: Are You Ready / Baby Drives Me Crazy (★)
・ Black Rose: Waiting for an Alibi
・ Thunder and Lightning: Thunder and Lightning / Baby Please Don’t Go
* Note: “★” marks are songs that cannot be heard on the official version “BBC RADIO ONE LIVE IN CONCERT”.

… And it looks like this. I couldn’t hear “Waiting for an Alibi”, “Baby Please Don’t Go”, “Cowboy Song”, and “Rosalie” in “KAISERSLAUTERN 1983”, but more than that, the fact that “this is the last” is engraved Rarely, every word of MC has the weight of history. In the middle of “Cowboy Song”, Phil’s fanfare was very exciting, and “Baby Drives Me Crazy” was accompanied by a magnificent singalong conducted by the bass. Phil insists, “The Best audience in German, fuckin world, universe !!”, but in the middle of the audience seats. The pleasure of standing “being present on a historic night” is the real thrill of only the finest audience.
Although it was returned, poor contact in the first half was missed. Without it, it’s a shocking live album that will be immediately pressed. THIN LIZZY facing the final enthusiastic performance, and a direct new excavation where you can feel Phil Lynott right in front of you. Please take a closer look at the historic night.

★ Newly excavated audience recording of the final performance “September 4, 1983 Nuremberg”. It is a completely different recording from the past, and is a brand name created from the newly excavated 1st Gene Master. In the first half, the left channel is unstable, but in the second half after “Emerald”, it is stable and the direct feeling is transformed into a superb sound. Each song has the weight of history that “this is the last”, and the pleasure of standing in the middle of the grandly exciting audience is the real thrill of the best audience. It is a new masterpiece that you can feel THIN LIZZY facing the historic night in front of you.

《3月4日『THUNDER AND LIGHTNING』発売》
BBC RADIO ONE

Still in Love With You
Rosalie
Jailbreak/Emerald/Cowboy Song/The Boys Are Back in Town
Are You Ready/Baby Drives Me Crazy(★)
Waiting for an Alibi
Thunder and Lightning/Baby Please Don’t Go

「Waiting for an Alibi」「Baby Please Don’t Go」「Cowboy Song」「Rosalie」あたりは『KAISERSLAUTERN 1983』でも聴けなかったわけですが、それ以上に1曲1曲で「これが最後」という事実が刻まれ、MCの一言一言にも歴史の重みが宿る。 フィルが「The Best audience in German, fuckin world, universe!!(くそったれなこの世界、この宇宙で一番のオーディエンスはドイツのお前らだ!)」
