大好評の新作『THE FINAL BATTLE』を引っさげ、鋭意ツアー中のSTRYPER。その最新ステージを完全独り占めできる超・特等席映像が到着です。
そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2023年８月12日ビロクシ公演」。その最前列（？）オーディエンス・ショットです。マイケル・スィートと言えば、一昨年はトレイシー・ガンズとのSUNBOMB、今年はSWEET & LYNCHでの新作も発表。旺盛な制作意欲を見せつけていますが、ライヴは本業STRYPERに集中しています。当店で前回レポートしたのは『THE FINAL BATTLE』発売前の『CALLING ON YOU TOUR 2022（Shades 1615）』でしたので、まずは日程で“その後”をおさらいしつつ、本作のポジションも確かめてみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されている2022年／2023年のスケジュール。つい先日「北米#7」を終えたところでして、今後の日程はまだ発表になっていません。本作のビロクシ公演は、その１ヶ月前となる「北米#6」の最終公演でした。
そんなショウを真空パックした本作は、超極上のオーディエンス・ショット……ですよね？　これ。いきなり疑問形になってしまって申し訳ないのですが、思わず虚空に訊ねたくなる異常映像なのです。何が異常って、撮影ポジション。もしかして、これステージ上で撮影していませんか？
とにかく客席が皆無。じっくり観てみると目線の高さがメンバーのヒザくらいなのでステージ上ではなく最前列（あるいはカメラピット）から撮影しているのかもしれませんが、それにしても観客の姿がなさ過ぎる。普通は最前列ショットでもカメラを左右に振れば画面の端っこくらいに他の客が映るものなのですが……。曲間には盛大な喝采が（背中方向から）沸くので本番ライヴとは分かるものの、映像自体はまるで無観客リハーサルのようでさえある。「ワンカメ通し撮影＋マイク収録の音声」なのでカテゴライズ的にはオーディエンスと書くしかありませんが、「実はプロショットの１アングルを流出させちゃいました」と言われたら、全力で納得しながら「だよね」と返してしまいそうです。
そんな「独り占めショット」で楽しめるのは、『THE FINAL BATTLE』の新曲も飛び出す最新のフルショウ。ここでは当店の前回作『CALLING ON YOU TOUR 2022』と比較しながらセットを整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。注目の新曲は「No Rest For The Wicked」だけに抑えつつ、『TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL』中心のクラシックスを軸としたグレイテスト・ヒッツ。新曲１曲ではありますが、トータルで見れば再結成後のナンバーが1/3を占める幅広いセットです。
それにしても凄い、スゴすぎる映像です。現代は誰もが撮影できますし、その気になればオーディエンス映像をかき集めてマルチカメラ作品だって作れる時代。そうした手軽化／高度化が進めば進むほど、偶然の奇跡に頼ったオーディエンス本来の魅力がクローズアップされてもいます。その魅力とは「通しの現場体験がしたい」「奇跡のような特等席で観てみたい」という観客の夢。本作は。その「本来の魅力」をこれ以上考えられない次元で実現してくれるのです。まさに「オーディエンス・ショットの究極形」。どうぞ、刮目してご体験ください！

This is the schedule for 2022/2023 that has been announced so far. They just finished “North America #7” the other day, and future dates have not been announced yet. The Biloxi performance of this work was the final performance of “North America #6” one month before.
This work, which is a vacuum-packed version of such a show, is an extremely exquisite audience shot…right? this. I’m sorry for suddenly sounding like a question, but this is an abnormal video that makes you want to ask the question to the sky. What’s abnormal is the shooting position. By any chance, wasn’t this filmed on stage?
Anyway, there were no seats for the audience. If you look closely, your eye level is about the knees of the members, so it may be that they were filming from the front row (or the camera pit) rather than the stage, but even so, there were too few people in the audience. Normally, even in front row shots, if you swing the camera left and right, you can see other customers at the edge of the screen… Although you can tell that it’s a real live performance because you can hear the loud applause (from the back) between songs, the video itself looks like a rehearsal without an audience. Since it’s “one-camera shooting + audio recorded with a microphone,” the only way to categorize it is to say it’s an audience, but when someone says, “Actually, I leaked one angle of a pro shot,” I do my best to convince myself and say, “That’s right.” I feel like I might reply.
