SCORPIONS in 1979 welcomed Matthias Japs and opened the door to the golden age. A superb sound board album that conveys the highlight performance is now available.
The highlight show is the performance of “August 25, 1979 Reading Festival”. It is the stereo sound board recording. Speaking of “LOVEDRIVE Tour”, it is also the era when the golden front line with Michael Schenker’s departure and Matthias joining was completed, and the meaning is completely different depending on the time. Reading this year was the lineup of THE POLIS on the first day (August 24th), THIN LIZZY on the second day (August 25th), and Peter Gabriel on the final day (August 26th). However, THIN LIZZY on the second day was canceled due to Gary Moore leaving during the tour. As a substitute, SCORPIONS, which was gaining popularity in Europe, was singled out.
In any case, the event was broadcast on the radio as it was a big stage called Tori, a famous festival. The FM sound board has become a big standard. This work is one that updates the highest peak. The point is the broadcast time. Most of the existing groups were air-checked broadcasts at the time, but this work was rebroadcast in the 90s.
