This is an album that compiles the previously unreleased songs from the total of about 40 years of Studio Work of Stones into Dawn, 60 songs, and 4 CDs with high sound quality.
In recent years, around the release of the deluxe version of Sam Girls and Exile on Main Street, outtakes from the brewery have been actively released, but this sound source is a rough audition of those unreleased sound sources. It is said that it was produced from the source, and depending on the song, the sound quality has improved dramatically even on the already released track, or although only the title was revealed, the sound source itself has not leaked at all and it is the first appearance. It is a big feature that it contains a lot of tracks.
The details of the recording data have not been clarified, and there are many tracks whose actual overdubbing time etc. are unknown, but Mick’s vocals are clearly a lot of newly recorded tracks in recent years. Occupy. The overdubbing of these vocals is done for songs that have not progressed to the song insertion when the original rhythm track was recorded, or the track was abandoned in the middle of the work, but the vocals recorded in this work It is estimated that the majority of tracks are taken using such re-recording sources.
As for the recorded songs, detailed consideration can be viewed on the Internet among researchers, so I will omit it here, but as mentioned above, the songs that I could not hear at all and the leaked takes are in charge of vocals. In some cases (Keith’s singing has been replaced by Mick’s vocals, and vice versa), these are also parts that cannot be overlooked. It is said that the original of the original is leaked in MP3 format, and some have pointed out the frequency band that has been cut compared to the lossless source, but in this work, fan volunteers are polite. ストーンズの通算約４０年分のスタジオ・ワークの中からこれまで未発表になっていた楽曲群を高音質でドーンと６０曲、ＣＤ４枚にコンパイルしたアルバムです。
近年のサム・ガールズやメインストリートのならず者のデラックス版のリリースの辺りから蔵出しのアウトテイクのリリースが盛んに行なわれるようになりましたが、本音源はそれらの未発表音源の試聴用のラフ・ソースから制作されたものと言われており、曲によっては既発のトラックでも格段に音質が向上していたり、またはタイトルだけは明らかになっていたものの音源自体は全く流出しておらず初出となるトラックが多数含まれているのが大きな特徴となっています。
レコーディング・データの詳細が明らかになっておらず、実際のオーバーダブの時期等は不詳のトラックが多いのですが、ミックのヴォーカルは明らかに近年になってから新たに収録されたトラックが多数を占めています。これらのヴォーカルのオーバーダブは元々のリズム・トラック収録時に歌入れまで作業が進んでいなかったり、作業途中でトラックの完成が放棄された楽曲に対して行なわれていますが本作収録のヴォーカル・トラックの大部分はこのような再録音源を使用したテイクが過半数以上を占めているものと推測されます。
収録曲については研究家の間で詳しい考察がインターネット上で閲覧できますのでここでは省きますが、上記の通り今まで全く聞くことの出来なかった楽曲や、流出しているテイクとはヴォーカルの担当が入れ替わっている(キースが歌っていたものがミックのヴォーカルに差し変わっていたりまたはその逆も然り）例もあり、これらも聞き逃せない部分となっています。大元の原本はMP3フォーマットで流出しているとのことで、ロスレスのソースと比較して削られてしまっている周波数帯域について一部で指摘されていますが、本作ではファン有志が丁寧に補正と修正を施した新素材からの明るめの音像のソースからの収録ですので、巷で言われているような大元の音質の劣化はモニター越しには全く感じられないと思われます。
独自に補正を施した先発盤も多数リリースされており、既にそれらをお持ちの方には強くお薦めするものではありませんが、それらでは収録曲が複数のリリースにまたがっていたり、またほぼ時系列に綺麗に並び替えられたトラックリストは既発のものよりもグッと聴きやすくなった印象です。本作は元々リリースの予定外ではありましたが、DACレーベルでのリリースは？とのお問い合わせも大変多かった音源でリクエストに押された形で今回リリースの運びとなりました。
海外サイトで指摘されていたDISC 3、Tk-4の冒頭の元音源からのカットはMEAN-LEAN-HITS(DAC-112)で使用した音源より補填修正済みとなっております。トータルで
６０トラック３００分越えの長尺の作品ですが、高音質で１曲ごとにじっくりと聴き込むも良し、ＢＧＭとして聴き流すも良しのオールマイティな好タイトルと言えます。本作から将来的にどの曲が正規リリースされるのかを想像しながら聴き進めて行くのもまさにマニア冥利に尽きる瞬間でしょう。
