Rolling Stones 1982 Europe Tour with the feeling that items are available on CD. Even recently, masterpiece audience albums such as “PARIS 1982 1ST NIGHT” have been released on “FRANK FURT 1982”, but this time it is the first sound source from Rotterdam, the starting point of the tour. At the end of May, they held an arena show that doubled as a warm-up in their home country of England, and it was Rotterdam that kicked off during the tour from June. Three shows have been held there, and all CD items have been released except on the first day.
However, on the first day of June 2nd, even LPs, let alone CDs, recorded only a few songs as a bonus of “MOJO’S FINEST ’82” which recorded the third day of Rotterdam. Certainly, the audience recording used as a bonus for the LP has B-class sound quality, and the release by itself is of strict quality. However, apart from that, audience recordings with easy-to-hear sound quality were distributed among traders.
Although this recording is monaural, the sound image is large (although it is not in the range that can be described as a sound board), the texture of the audience recording like an outdoor stadium is not bad, and it is said that it has never been released on a press CD until now. Mysteriously.

However, for the above reason, it is undeniable that there is a squeaky feeling that is common in outdoor cassette recording, and at the time of this limited press CD release, we will equalize to alleviate that point. As a result, the monaural audience recording with excellent features is easier to hear, and the outline of the performance is pushed forward. It was a level that enthusiasts can enjoy as it is, but with this restoration, the quality has been improved to a level that even beginners can fully enjoy.
Because it was an outdoor stadium and a venue in Europe, the surroundings were very lively, and there was one audience who “hit the next song” near the taper, and most of the songs were guessing that. However, this is something that makes me smile. Rather, in the latter half of the concert, the excitement suddenly became hot from around “Miss You” and there were many parts that were jarring, but it was okay, but as the performance progressed, the area around the taper became tired and the noise faded out (laughs).

The performance of Stones itself has already been raised because the latter half of last year was spent on the US tour and the warm-up was done in Scotland in May. As expected, the sense of speed peculiar to 1982, which becomes noticeable after a few weeks, has not been born, but it is clear that some songs have a different momentum of performance from the previous year. The area around “Neighbours” may be called the first example.
And speaking of 1982, the rare repertoire is the cover of The Big Bopper “Chantilly Lace”. Although he had already made his stage debut in Scotland, it seems that Mick’s song is still suppressed at the beginning of the tour. The atmosphere is clearly different from “PARIS 1982 1ST NIGHT” two weeks later and “FRANK FURT 1982” one month later, so it will be interesting to hear and compare. What’s wrong is that the laughing scene that the audience who wants to predict the next song does not know about this song and does not shout the song title unlike other times is a new repertoire that has just introduced the tour. It reminds me of.
The performance of Stones after that seems to be in good condition, but the double saxophone of “Hang Fire”, which was also a specialty of 1982, does not sound due to a mistake on the PA side at the beginning of the performance, which is also a happening that seems to be the beginning of the tour. It’s also interesting that I was hit. The first day of the 1982 European Tour, which includes the scene that seems to be the beginning of the tour, but still has a high degree of perfection, will be released on a limited press CD!
