The 1969 MSG performance with new member Mick Taylor was multi-tracked by engineer Glyn Johns and was released in 1970 as “Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out”, the last original album of the Decca era. Will be released. The source of this CD is the one released on a certain video site at the end of 2019 as a copyright countermeasure with a 50-year deadline. Curiously, these sound sources were deleted within 24 hours after their release, and now they have become phantom sound sources. The original released was a sound quality with a strong sense of compression peculiar to the video site sound source, and the condition was a little unbalanced, especially in the high range.

In this CD, in order to improve the defect of the original sound quality, the band with a strong feeling of compression is carefully filtered, and the high range of the sound source is not cut off, and the equalization that disturbs the balance of the original bass is also performed at all. Is not … The entire sound image is completed with only the minimum parametric EQ operation. The performers are also wonderful, full of powerful grooves that can be said to be the culmination of a tour that took place over almost a month. The original sound source is a mono-mix sound source for audition created to determine the recording take of the album, and the cut parts that exist in several places are beautifully selected from the three sources of “BROADWAY” (DAC-092). It has been compensated.

DISC-1 is a recording from the one performance on the night of November 27th. From this performance, the first song “JUMPIN’JACK FLASH” has been adopted for the regular release, but Mick’s vocals have been completely retaken in the studio, and the chorus Keith’s harmony that was not sung in the actual live You can see that it has been added. Since this work is a sound board sound source, it will be fun for enthusiasts to compare it with the source recorded in DISC-1 of “BROADWAY” which was known as a high-quality audience sound source of the performance so far. Surprisingly, the balance difference between this conventional audience source and this sound board source is minimal, and you will be reminded of how the conventional sound source was recorded in a wonderful environment.

DISC-2 was recorded from the second show on the following 28th, and from this performance it has been confirmed that two songs, “MIDNIGHT RAMBLER” and “LIVE WITH ME”, will be adopted as regular editions. “MIDNIGHT RAMBLER” uses the original live vocals, but “LIVE WITH ME” has also officially released a retake version in the studio. In 2009’s “Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out! (40th Anniversary Edition)” to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the album’s release, two songs from the 27th performance and two songs from the 28th second show performance will be released as additional tracks. However, basically, in both performances, the tracks other than those released have not been announced so far, and the complete version of the show that has not undergone overdubbing etc. can only be heard with this sound source.

In the regular release, the intro that overlapped the opening of the three MSG performances of tour promoter SAM CUTLER was also a very unique idea, but here you can hear the original intro of each performance that does not overlap. Is also a big advantage. Especially on the 27th of the first day, Glyn Johns started the tape early, so the intro part, which is longer than the other performances, is recorded as long as 2 minutes and 28 seconds. Please add this work, which can be said to be a stripped version of the famous live “Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out” without any overdubbing such as replacement of Mick’s vocals, to the collection.

新メンバーのミック・テイラーを従えた1969年のMSG公演は、エンジニアのグリン・ジョンズによってマルチ・トラック収録され、英デッカ時代最後のオリジナル・アルバムとなる「Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out」として翌1970年にリリースされます。今回のCDは2019年の年末に、50年期限のコピーライト対策として某動画サイトで公開されたものがソースとなっています。不思議なことにこれらの音源は公開後24時間も待たずに削除されてしまい、現在では言わば幻の音源と化してしまいました。公開されたオリジナルは動画サイト音源特有の圧縮感の強い音質で、特に高域の潰れたややバランスの悪いコンデイションでした。

本CDではオリジナルの音質の欠点を改善するために圧縮感の強い帯域に念入りなフィルター処理を施し、音源の高域を削ぎ落とすことなく、またオリジナルの低音のバランスを崩すようなイコライジングも一切行っていません。最低限のパラメトリックＥＱ操作のみで全体の音像を仕上げています。演奏の方もほぼ1ヶ月に渡って行われたツアーの集大成とも言える力強いグルーブに溢れた素晴らしいものです。大元の音源はアルバムの収録テイクを決定するために作成された試聴用のモノ・ミックス音源で、数箇所に存在するカット部分は「BROADWAY」(DAC-092)の3枚のソースから綺麗に補填されています。

DISC-1は11月27日の夜の1回公演からの収録です。この公演からは1曲目の「JUMPIN’ JACK FLASH」が正規盤リリースに採用されていますが、ミックのヴォーカルはスタジオで全面的にリテイクされ、実際のライブでは歌われなかったサビのキースのハモリも追加されているのが確認できます。本作はサウンドボード音源ゆえにこれまで同公演の高音質オーディエンス音源として知られていた「BROADWAY」のDISC-1に収録されていたソースと比較するのもマニアには一興でしょう。意外にもこの従来のオーデイエンス・ソースと今回のサウンドボード・ソースのバランス的な差異は極小であり、如何に従来音源が素晴らしい環境で収録されていたかを思い知らされます。

DISC-2は翌28日のセカンド・ショーからの収録となっており、この公演からは「MIDNIGHT RAMBLER」、「LIVE WITH ME」の2曲の正規盤採用が確認されています。「MIDNIGHT RAMBLER」はオリジナルのライヴ・ヴォーカルを使用していますが「LIVE WITH ME」では、やはりスタジオでのリテイク・バージョンが正規リリースされました。アルバム発売の40周年を記念した2009年の「’Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out! (40th Anniversary Edition)」では27日演奏分より2曲、28日セカンド・ショー演奏分より2曲が追加トラックとして公開されましたが、基本的に両公演ともこれらの発売分以外のトラックはこれまで未発表でしかもオーバーダブ等の加工を経ていないショーのコンプリート版は本音源でしか聞くことが出来ません。

正規リリースではツアー・プロモーターのSAM CUTLERの3回分のMSG公演のオープニングをオーバーラップさせたイントロも大変ユニークなアイディアでしたが、ここではオーバーラップしないそれぞれの公演のオリジナルのイントロを聞くことが出来るのも大きなメリットと言えます。特に初日の27日分ではグリン・ジョンズが早めにテープをスタートさせたため、他の公演よりも長めのイントロ・パートが何と2分28秒も収録されています。ミックのヴォーカルの差し替え等のオーバーダブの一切ない名ライヴ「Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out」のストリップド・バージョンとも言える本作をぜひコレクションに加えて下さい。
