先日、無事に最終日まで走りきった2021年版“NO FILTER Tour”。その最新レポートとなる傑作ライヴアルバムがギフト・リリース決定です。
そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「2021年11月20日オースティン公演」。その現場をリアル・サウンドで伝える絶品オーディエンス録音です。ツアー本番が終了した事により、世界中のコレクターの意識は速報段階から総括段階へと移行中。今はちょうど転換期で、既知のショウのハイクオリティ記録が追究され始めつつ、同時に後期ショウの最新レポートもまだまだ盛んです。本作は、そんな時期に相応しく、速報でありながらサウンド面でも話題となっている名録音なのです。
実際、本作のサウンドは通常リリースでもおかしくない見事なもので、ツアー初期であればプレス化も検討されたであろう業物。何よりも素晴らしいのはオンで力強い芯。ギターもリズム隊もヴォーカルも叩きつけるようなパワーで目の目に付き\付けられ、距離感などまるでナシ。ややワイルドな感触はありつつ、それでもビビる寸前でこらえる迫力も素晴らしい。しかも、本作はそんな原音をさらにブラッシュアップした最高峰盤。ネット原音ではダイレクト感は素晴らしいものの、セパレート感は今イチでやや塊気味でもありました。そこで本作では高音から重低音まで各音域を整理。１音１音の輪郭も際立ち、楽器１つひとつの存在感がくっきりと感じられるように仕上げたのです。
そんなビビッド・サウンドで描かれるのは、ツアー完遂を目の前にして意気上がる13公演目。ここでいつものようにセットも整理しておきましょう。

ただし！　残念ながら本作は上記の全曲がノーカット完全形で聴けるわけではありません。「Tumbling Dice」の３分台でわずかに録音漏れがあり、終盤の「Sympathy for the Devil」「Gimme Shelter」でも冒頭に欠けがあるのです。１つひとつはそれほど大きな問題ではないものの、デジタル録音が当たり前の現代基準ではノーカットで当たり前。わずかであっても欠けのある記録では通常リリースには相応しくなかったのです。と言いつつ、無視できないほど音も良いのも確か。そこで、最速レポートを担うギフト約に抜擢されたのです。
わずかな欠点は残念ではあるものの、聴いて楽しく、浸って燃えるライヴアルバムの傑作には違いない。ツアーと併走するリアルタイム感を味わう最終週に相応しい１本。どうぞ、じっくりとご堪能ください。
