Robert Plant in 1983 started his first solo tour with his 2nd solo album “THE PRINCIPLE OF MOMENTS”. Introducing a leaked soundboard album where you can thoroughly enjoy the live performance.
What is recorded in this work is “November 28, 1983 Newcastle upon Tyne performance”. That stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of “PRINCIPLE OF MOMENTS Tour”, it is a memorable place that a large-scale Japan tour was realized. First of all, let’s look back on that time on a schedule and check the position of the show.

This is the 1983/1984 Robert Plant. The end of the yearly tour is only in the Pacific Rim including Japan. My home country, England, was about three months before the performance in Japan, and the Newcastle performance of this work was the fifth concert of the “UK” leg.
This work recorded at such a show is a superb and unique stereo sound board. As a related person outflow master brought by our own route, clear performances and singing voices are poured into the brain even in the finest parts, and the master freshness without dubbing marks is really fresh. However, it is a little different from the sound that is usually associated with the word “related party leaked sound board”. A slight effect is applied to the outline of the performance, and a fresh cheer is also sucked in. If you listen to it with headphones, you can tell that it is a sound board, and in many songs, a large voice count that can not be an audience is recorded, and before “Moonlight In Samosa”, the voice of Soundman may enter the left channel for a moment. (It’s strangely on and you’ll be surprised). However, it is a sound that is not strange even if you think “that? Audience?” For a moment when you listen to it.
Of course, there is a reason for this. Apparently, this sound was created by the people involved in the leak. “DESK + AMBINIENT” is handwritten on the master cassette, and the cheers of the directional microphone are mixed with the mixing desk recording. It’s a complete guess, but maybe the people involved tried to make it look like an official live album as a hobby. However, Mike’s cheers are not officially recorded, and there is an echo feeling in the processing (maybe it was the fashion of the 80’s). It seems that these elements are involved, and the result is a sound that feels like an audience.
Anyway, the origin must be a stereo sound board. What is drawn with such a sound is the stage of the plant that achieved a triumphant return as a solo. Of course, at that time, the ZEP number was still sealed, and all the songs were filled with solo numbers. Let’s organize the contents here.

…… And it looks like this. Unfortunately, it was recorded from the middle of the opening “In The Mood”, and the encore was not recorded. It’s not the perfect form of the show, but you can still enjoy it with the size of a 2-disc set of about 86 minutes.
Moreover, the content is fresh because it is now. Other than “In The Mood”, there is a repertoire that is not what you want at the moment, especially “Worse Than Detroit”, “Moonlight In Samosa”, “Horizontal Departure” and “Wreckless Love” are limited songs only for this tour. The real thrill of enjoying it on a stereo sound board is irreplaceable.
It is a live album that will bring back a memorable performance in Japan, and the playfulness of the people involved will be fun. It’s great to soak in the sink, and it’s fun enough to step on. A unique outflow sound board that can be enjoyed in any way. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

2ndソロアルバム『THE PRINCIPLE OF MOMENTS』を機に、初のソロ・ツアーを開始した1983年のロバート・プラント。その生演奏をじっくり味わえる流出サウンドボード・アルバムが登場です。
そんな本作に記録されているのは「1983年11月28日ニューカッスル・アポン・タイン公演」。そのステレオ・サウンドボード録音です。“PRINCIPLE OF MOMENTS Tour”と言えば、大規模なジャパン・ツアーが実現した事でも思い出深いところ。まずは、そんな当時をスケジュールで振り返り、ショウのポジションを確かめてみましょう。

これが1983年／1984年のロバート・プラント。年の改まったツアー終盤は日本を含む環太平洋のみ。母国イギリスは日本公演の約３ヶ月前であり、本作のニューカッスル公演は「英国」レッグ５公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、極上にして個性的なステレオ・サウンドボード。当店の独自ルートでもたらされた関係者流出マスターでして、微細部まで克明な演奏や歌声が脳みそに流し込まれ、ダビング痕のないマスター鮮度も実に瑞々しい。ただし、普段「関係者流出サウンドボード」という言葉で連想するサウンドともちょっと違う。演奏の輪郭にほんのりとエフェクトがかけられ、生々しい喝采も吸い込んでいる。ヘッドフォンで聴き込めばサウンドボードと分かりますし、多くの曲でオーディエンスではあり得ない肉声カウントが大きめに記録され、「Moonlight In Samosa」の前には一瞬サウンドマンの声が左チャンネルに入ったりもする（異様にオンでドキッとしますよ）。しかし、パッと流し聴きすると一瞬「あれ？オーディエンス？」と思っても不思議ではないサウンドでもあるのです。
もちろん、これには理由がある。どうやら、このサウンドは流出元の関係者が作り上げたもの。マスターカセットには「DESK + AMBINIENT」と手書きされており、ミキシング・デスク録音に指向性マイクの歓声をミックスしている。完全に推測なのですが、恐らく関係者が趣味で公式ライヴアルバム風に加工してみたのでしょう。ただ、マイクの歓声は正規に録音された物ではないのでしょうし、（80年代の流行か）処理にもエコー感がある。そうした要素が絡んで、結果的に「オーディエンスっぽい？」と感じるサウンドに仕上がっているようです。
ともあれ、大元がステレオ・サウンドボードには違いない。そんなサウンドで描かれるのは、ソロとして凱旋を果たしたプラントのステージ。もちろん当時はまだZEPナンバーは封印されており、全曲がソロ・ナンバーで埋め尽くされている。ここでその内容も整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。残念ながらオープニングの「In The Mood」途中からの録音であり、アンコールも未収録。ショウの完全形とは行かないのですが、それでも約86分の２枚組サイズでしっかりと楽しむ事ができます。
しかも、その内容は今だからこそ新鮮。「In The Mood」以外は現在望むべくもないレパートリーばかりで、特に「Worse Than Detroit」「Moonlight In Samosa」「Horizontal Departure」「Wreckless Love」辺りはこのツアーだけの限定曲。それをステレオ・サウンドボードで楽しめる醍醐味は何物にも代え難いのです。
思い出深い来日公演も甦るライヴアルバムであり、作り上げた関係者の遊び心も楽しい個性盤。流しで浸っても素晴らしく、踏み込むほども面白い。どんな楽しみ方もできる唯一無二の流出サウンドボード。どうぞ、存分に味わい尽くしてください。
