すっかり前置きが長くなりました。本作は、そんな『SMOKING BLUES』の元マスター。正確に言いますと「ヴィクター制作カセットをコピーしたDAT」からトランスファーされた若ジェネ盤です。
下記曲目をご覧のように、収録内容は『SMOKING BLUES』と同じでして「DISC 1＝２日目（４曲）」＋「DISC 2＝初日（３曲）」。注目は「モントルー２日目（本作DISC 1）」でして、最高峰を更新するサウンドが永久保存されている。実際、そのサウンドは史上最高。初日ヴィクター録音が発掘された際も「SMOKING BLUESは若干、世代を経たコピー」と言われましたが、本作は望みうる最高の若ジェネ・マスターを無加工でデジタル化している。明らかにフレッシュになっているだけでなく、圧倒的にナチュラル。『SMOKING BLUES』は低音が豪快にブーストされていましたが、本作はバンド一丸で全力演奏しても隅々まで美しいのです
