Finally realized after 7 years !!!
The legendary unofficial LP board “M-502” is now available as a press board CD that can contain all of the partially existing stereo sources! This seemingly seemingly nonexistent “M-502” sound source The perfect coupling is finally here for the first time this weekend !!!

Almost at the same time as the release, the unreleased part appeared in the stereo source part, resulting in omission of force majeure. As a result, the previous work “M-502 (Sigma 97)” which lacked the finish of the picture dragon point despite the latest work. However, the title of this misfortune released in May 2013, however, is also a big thing that the world’s first recorded sound transferred from the first edition of a super rare with the matrix “1, 2, 3, 4” written on the LP recording part It became a topic.

At this time, the sound source released almost at the same time as the release (* The final section of the same song that was replayed after the performance of “Atom Heart Mother” and the sound check before the replay started. Both were stereo sources) A special edition containing only the stereo source was immediately released as a gift (* Free CDR) as “ ATOM HEART MOTHER IN HAMBURG: STEREO VERSION COMPLETE ”, but after all, those who purchased me at the time were also me I think the label couldn’t deny that the wish was that it would have been best if everything could be recorded on the press. However, at the end of this weekend, “Homework” was completed seven years ago, and the title is revived with a perfect appearance including the reprise performance of “Atom Heart Mother” which was not recorded!!

And it doesn’t just come back. It is also a big topic that it is a comeback as the best sound quality board that has been carefully remastered and carefully remastered for the sound quality and quality of all scenes, including the parts that were not recorded. … Because, in the seven years that have passed, the Sigma 97 and the subsequent titles of the above-mentioned gift titles have been calmly reconsidered, and they were released too quickly at the time. I noticed that there were some things left behind. For example, in the LP recording part of the Sigma 97 board, there are still areas where scratches have not been sufficiently removed, and the lack of volume during mastering has weakened the dynamics during playback, so the basics around that There is still room for improvement in listening and listening. Also, there are some parts where the phase is slightly inclined with respect to the stereo source part, and for the important replay part (= part that was not recorded in Sigma 97), the public source whose pitch is shifted by almost a semitone is converted to a sound without changing it (* This was because the aim was unprocessed), so we had to release it with the correct sound from an early stage. As a result, although the time of seven years has certainly passed, by deliberately putting effort and effort on these parts where sweetness remained, a decision board that has both perfection that stands out in sound quality and quality It is realized!!

The vivid sound texture is just the highest quality. First of all, as for the LP board recording part, “Green Is The Color” is Roger’s song introduction MC at the beginning, and the noise that was noticeable in the silent scene has almost completely disappeared, and Gilmore’s highly transparent feeling You will be surprised to see the singing voice run through the highest smoothness ever. In “Careful With That Axe, Eugene”, the periodic trace noise that occurred for about 20 seconds from around 0:24 to around 42 on the Sigma 97 board disappeared almost completely, and the sound quality was raised to a great extent. You will notice that In “Cymbaline”, the part of “♪ Apprehension creeping …” at the beginning of the cut-in is also clearer by about +0.5, and the sound image of Sigma 97, which was slightly deeper after 2:27 when the guitar solo entered, improved punch and resolution. Retrieving. Also at 8:42 in the footstep scene, the flashy sound of the last door closing at 8:42 also increases its clarity and impact, and you can see that the sound of the original master is more faithful to the sound of the site and direct . “A Saucerful Of Secrets” is an abnormal noise that comes in at 2: 36-37 (* a sound that something has fallen or a heavy object has dropped), and an electrical noise that is occurring at 8: 27-40 ( * Probably due to the recording machine), the remastering also increased the vividness, and the documentary of the recording increased. In addition, since the sharpness and sharpness of the high frequency range are also improved by proper remastering, the sense of burst of strange sounds that develops one after another just before the rhythm enters (* mainly from 3:23 to 4:50) Is also a great listening point. It is also important that this time, “ A Saucerful Of Secrets ” is included in Disc 1 (* Included in Disc 2- (1) in Sigma 97), and by including this in Disc 1, Disc 2 of this work is The entire Atom Heart Mother in mono and stereo without breaking the order of performance as historical
It is a structure that can be heard.

For that reason, the first appearance on Disc 2 is “Atom Heart Mother” on the LP M-502, which is a continuation of Disc 1. Roger’s MC before entering the song shows that his voice’s direct hit and closeness have increased by about +0.5 to +1, but the performance sound is also close to the perceived sound felt in the mid-high range. The crispness is mastered by the best monaural sound ever.

And from the track (2), “Atom Heart Mother” with super-high quality stereo source appeared. The original sound is the 3rd Gen transferred to the TDK SA90 cassette (* It is super high sound quality that you can not imagine as the 3rd Gen even if you listen to it many times), but the source itself is exactly the same as that used in LP “M-502” is. Roger’s introduction of the Jeffrey Mitchell Choir MC (* “brass section and choir conducted by Jeffrey Mitchell”) and the inside of the venue, and the performance of the track (3) is also ultra-class dynamic sound As you can see, what is being corrected upward from the Sigma 97 board is the phase of the sound image. In fact, the Sigma 97 had a specific tone of the whole sound that was only slightly to the left, and the right channel component was slightly light. However, correct this appropriately. If you pay attention to the whole sound that can be heard after 2:08 of this work, the sound output balance of the left and right channels You can clearly see that is optimal. This makes the mixed chorus and ensemble more integrated, and you can see that the soprano and the tenor’s growth is deeper on the left and right = the sound image is well balanced in the center. In addition, the guitar will be closer and sharper, and the sound of the solo and floating feeling from 11:52 will surely realize the power of the properly tuned sound.

And from track (4), a replay scene of the last section of the same song, which was finally recorded on the press for the first time in the world, will appear. First of all, in the sound check of this track (4), you can see that the luster and depth are higher than the sound of the recorded gift / title, but the most different thing is the track (5) of the replay scene. Correcting the low pitch (* 50% of a semitone up) makes the pitch of mixed chorus rock solid, and the sense of density in the midrange decorated with wind instruments has also increased considerably. This scene, which was not recorded in Sigma 97, would not have been such a high-precision sound even if it could be recorded seven years ago. The appearance and power of the sound finally corrected this time are so great, and the vibration of the sound suitable for fixing on the press board dwells.

“The M-502 and all its related stereo sources are recorded together on the press CD … as a perfect version with the best sound quality and quality, with the best masters and sources selected and sharpened.” After seven years, the label’s philosophy, when the Sigma 97 was created, has come to fruition with unparalleled perfection. Indeed, the historical fact is that “Astronomy Domine”, which probably played as an opening on this day, still remains to be noticed for some reason not being included in the M-502. Mr. Nitz, who was both a record writer and master creator, recorded this opening song but was forced to forgo the recording due to the LP recording time, or for some reason started recording from the second song, sorry However, since he is already deceased and the whereabouts of the original master tape are unknown, the art of knowing the truth has now been lost. However, as a sound source material reminiscent of the master tape of LP “M-502”, this is all existing sources, and this latest work that polished it with the best sound and sealed it in the press board is zero deterioration and this name recording And it will be the definitive title that tells the legend to the next generation. This is the ultimate M-502, the latest Sigma work that fills the gaps that had been open for 7 years in the CD storage shelf with enhanced quality and sound quality !!!

*** Postscript: Secret of M-502 ***

Lastly, let’s make a note of the history of the M-502, whose characteristic titles and jackets are known, but whose specific details are not well known. I hope you’ll find some guidance in listening to this latest work.

An overview of the unofficial LP “M-502″ and its recording sources

Pink Floyd is a two-piece gatefold LP with a performance in Hamburg on February 25, 1971 in Germany. It is widely known as a precious recording that records the performance with the orchestra / mixed choir (* Jeffrey Mitchell choir) of “ Atom Heart Mother ” which had only a few live demonstrations with amazing sound quality . The first edition was produced in 1971 with 300 copies, after which it was re-pressed repeatedly, and finally there was a 7th press edition. The album was untitled and untitled at the time of release, but it was recognized as “M-502” because the matrix marked “M-502”. By the way, there is actually a matrix of “M-502” from the 5th press, and the first to 4th presses up to that time had only “1,2,3,4” notation, so the initial release was “Spread Legs Cover” Was called.

The person who recorded this was Robert Nitz, who ran a record store in Germany at the time, and a portable open reel deck “UHER Report 4200 Stereo” made in West Germany, which was his favorite machine. Recorded using a Sennheiser microphone. It seems almost certain that the LP was made directly from the actual master tape because he produced the master. By the way, the characteristic jacket “Spread Legs” was designed by graphic designer Carl-Thomas Wiese.

As mentioned above, the recording equipment is a stereo recorder and also uses two recording microphones, and the scenes remaining in stereo exist to support it, so the master recorded by Mr. Nitz is probably all stereo. Probably it was recorded. However, the only sound that can be confirmed as stereo is the “ Atom Heart Mother ” that was excavated as a 3rd Gen tape source later in another route and its replay part, and the LP “ M-502 ” itself was somehow monaural recording Has become. The reason why it was converted to mono was not guessed because he was already deceased, but it is considered that the record cutting machine used was probably only monaural (* There is some merit

「Careful With That Axe, Eugene」ではSigma 97盤の0:24付近~42付近の約20秒間で発生していた周期的なトレースノイズがほぼ完全に姿を消し、音の品質がグッと底上げされている事にお気付きになるでしょう。

MC(※ ” brass section and choir conducted by Jeffrey Mitchell “と紹介している)とその場内の様子、そしてトラック(3)の演奏本体もウルトラ級のダイナミック・サウンドで出てきますが、Sigma 97盤から上方修正しているのは音像の位相です。
