This is the 1977 PINK FLOYD. At the beginning, I visited six continental European countries, but the main one was West Germany. 9 performances in 4 cities have been realized across “Central Europe # 1-2”. Here, let’s narrow down to West Germany and organize it together with our collection.

Above, 6 performances + 3 performances. Two consecutive performances are being held in Dortmund, and this work is the second day. And this work is the ultimate version of “Dortmund Day 2”, and it is one of the best live albums in “IN THE FLESH TOUR” as a whole. The reason why we can affirm the “ultimate” is that there is only one recording of the day. It first appeared in the 90’s, but even after that, no separate recording was found, and it has been upgraded only by the Gene competition. This work is a direct CD from the original cassette of such a legendary recording. In other words, we have reached the final point where we cannot go back to Gene any more.
[Sound of Omoto cassette newly excavated by original route] Actually, the sound is super beautiful, super real, super natural. The highest peak so far was the Siren label “DORTMUNDS (Disc 3-4)”, but it is still the 2nd Gene. Even in that masterpiece, the clearness and direct feeling were perfect, and although it was more than advanced, this work has even more density and luster. For example, guitars and keyboards have high-pitched peaks. Traditionally, masters have been paying attention only to their beauty and growth, and clearness has been measured from there. However, the Omoto Master had a thick midrange under such a conspicuous peak, and also supported the rich deep bass.To visually compare this feeling … Well, think of a picture of a pyramid. A vivid pyramid that scrapes off the clear sky. The height of the peak and the sharpness of the peak are conspicuous, but it is the details of the unconscious parts that give the beauty a “reality”. It is not a model but a “genuine” because it is clear from one step to the middle and it conveys the weight from each block with a wide base. The sound of this work is also in such a range. Because the details are vivid even under the unconscious, the whole picture has a sense of reality, and if you listen with headphones, you will discover as many things as you want.
Only one recording that has inherited “January 24, 1977”. It is the ultimate sound board. A sound that can only be drawn by the Omoto cassette that directly sucks in the atmosphere of the site. The true sound was preserved as it was, unprocessed (only pitch correction was performed, and conversely, it was a sound that set a new record high). ★ The best audience recording of “January 24, 1977 Dortmund performance”. A miracle excavation of the original cassette of the legendary recording left only one. 以上、６公演＋３公演。ドルトムントでは連続２公演が行われており、本作はその２日目なのです。そして、本作こそが「ドルトムント２日目」の究極盤であり、“IN THE FLESH TOUR”全体で見ても屈指の極上ライヴアルバムなのです。なぜ「究極」を断言できるのかと言えば、この日の録音はたった１本しか存在しないからです。初登場は90年代のことでしたが、その後も別録音は発掘されず、ジェネ競争だけでアップグレードしてきた。本作は、そんな伝説録音の大元カセットからダイレクトにCD化されたもの。つまり、これ以上ジェネを遡れない最終点に到達したというわけです。

実際、そのサウンドは超美麗・超リアル・超ナチュラル。これまでの最高峰はSireneレーベルの『DORTMUNDS（Disc 3-4）』だったのですが、それでも2ndジェネ。あの名作でもクリアさとダイレクト感は満点で十二分に極上級だったものの、本作はさらに密度と艶が感じられる。例えば、ギターやキーボードが高音ピーク。従来マスターはその美しさや伸びばかりが注目され、そこからクリアさが計られてきた。しかし、大元マスターにはそんな目立つピークの下にぶ厚い中音域が広がり、ふくよかな重低音も下支えしていたのです。
この感覚を視覚的に喩えるには……そうですね、ピラミッドの写真を思い浮かべてみてください。晴天を削り取るように鮮やかなピラミッド。そのピークの高さや頂点の鋭さが目立つところですが、その美しさに「現実感」を与えているのは意識しないパーツのディテールなのです。中腹の一段一段まで克明で、広い裾野のブロック１つひとつから重量感まで伝わるからこそ模型じゃなく「本物だ」と感じる。本作のサウンドも、そんな域にある。無意識下のディテールまで鮮やかだからこそ全体像に現実感が宿り、ヘッドフォンで耳を澄ますといくらでも発見があるのです。
