This is Phil Collins in 1990. “… BUT SERIOUSLY” was released in November of the previous year, but the tour started from the performance in Japan in the spring of the following year. After that, he toured the world with more than 10 performances. The Berlin performance of this work was the 12th performance of “Europe # 2”, which is the latter half of the concert.
This show was also the most famous night of “SERIOUSLY, LIVE! Tour”. The reason is the image after all. This work is a two-disc set with DISC 1 reprinting such a discontinued official video with the highest quality, and DISC 2 with the Japanese broadcast version of the same professional shot.

これが1990年のフィル・コリンズ。『…BUT SERIOUSLY』は前年11月に発売されていましたが、ツアーが始まったのは翌年春の日本公演からでした。その後、10公演以上をかけて世界中をたっぷりと巡業。本作のベルリン公演は、その後半にあたる「欧州#2」の12公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
このショウは、“SERIOUSLY, LIVE! Tour”で最も有名な一夜でもありました。その要因は、何と言っても映像。プロショットで撮影され、映像作品『SERIOUSLY LIVE IN BERLIN』として公式リリースされたのです。もちろん、当時の映像作の宿命ですぐに廃盤となったわけですが、2003年にはライヴアルバムと同タイトル『SERIOUS HITS… LIVE!』としてDVD化。しかし、現在ではその公式DVDも廃盤となっており、中古でもプレミアが付き、新品ともなれば数万円という高値が付くアイテムとなっています。本作は、そんな廃盤オフィシャル映像を最高峰クオリティで復刻したDISC 1と、同じプロショットの日本放送版をDISC 2に配した２枚組なのです。

……と、このようになっています。『SERIOUSLY LIVE IN BERLIN』を復刻したDISC 1は堂々の全24曲・２時間41分に及ぶフルスケールで、大ヒット作『NO JACKET REQUIRED』『…BUT SERIOUSLY』を軸としながら、各種サントラのシングル曲もたっぷり盛り込んでいます。
