15: My Old Friend-A song written by Carl Perkins to thank Paul for inviting him to Montserrat. Recorded on February 25, 1981, 15 years later it was recorded on Karl’s album “Go Cat Go” (released October 15, 1996) and released with some sweetness. On this album, Karl shows off a collaboration with all of Fab Four.
16 –Ebony and Ivory –solo version –Released on March 29, 1982, included in the 12-inch version of “Ebony and Ivory”.
17-24: Demo sound recorded by Paul and Denny Laine in August 1980 at Parkgate Studios at 38 Mount Street in Catsfield, East Sussex. The purpose of this demo was to present it to George Martin as the start of the collaboration. The demo has been speeded up and released on October 2, 2015 as the Tug Of War –Paul McCartney Archive Collection.

◉ Album commentary
Tug of War is Paul McCartney’s third original album released in 1982. Produced with Beatles producer George Martin, the jacket is designed by British design group Hipgnosis. After Paul’s arrest in January 1980, Wings started solo activities and the activity was stagnant, but in October 1980 Paul became all members (Linda McCartney, Denny Laine, Laurence Juber). Juber, Steve Holley) was convened and a rehearsal session was held. In this session, demos such as “Take It Away”, “Ballroom Dancing” and “Ebony and Ivory” are recorded. Also, on October 31st and November 3rd, when Paul recorded the single “We All Stand Together” under the name of Wings, he listened to the demo tape he had recorded when he produced it. I consulted about the album production. After a demo session by Linda and Rain at Paul’s home, recording in London began. However, in December of the same year, an incident occurred in which John Lennon, an ally of The Beatles era, was shot dead in New York. Paul, who was told John’s death by his manager at his home, stayed in the studio to stay calm and started recording “Rainclouds” with Rain. However, Paul’s shock was so great that he stopped recording for a month after his home session on January 2, 1981. Then, from February to March, he moved to Martin’s studio on Montserrat, Caribbean, and resumed recording. Rain accompanied the recording at this place, and Martin’s opinion was also given, and a lot of brilliant faces such as Steve Gadd and Stanley Clarke were appointed. In addition to the participation of former Beatles member Ringo Starr, duet songs with Paul’s idols Carl Perkins and Stevie Wonder were also recorded. After that, he returned to his studio in London and continued recording. Meanwhile, Rain announced his withdrawal on April 27, and Wings was officially dissolved on April 28. It was decided to spend more time recording there, and in June of the same year a session with Michael Jackson was held at his home. As a result, many songs were recorded, and I thought about releasing it as a double album once, but because the record company showed disappointment, I repeatedly examined the recorded songs and at the same time remixed it, so it was produced. The period has been long. “Tug of War” is Paul McCartney’s first digitally mixed album. When the duet song “Ebony and Ivory” with Wonder was released as a lead single in March 1982, it became a big hit in each country. ◉アルバム解説
