The latest in the popular Ultimate Archive series! The second work of Paul McCartney’s another project, The Fireman, released in 1998. It is avant-garde trance music that makes full use of sampled voices and SE, and incorporates Indian music, but it is characterized by Paul’s beautiful melody. To be honest, I don’t think even Paul’s big fans are listening to it. Better than its predecessor, Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest, Rushes stands out for not relying on McCartney’s previous releases. Rushes was released in the UK on 21 September 1998 by Hydra and in the US on 20 October 1998. A double LP album and two 12-inch singles have been released, both of which are mixes of Fluid. 3 remixes of “Fluid” (“Fluid (Out of Body and Mind Mix)”, “Fluid (Out of Body Mix)”, “Fluid (Out of Body with Sitar Mix)”) included! Like their first album, Rushes did not chart and was out of print altogether. Youth later referred to the album as the Fireman album he is most proud of: “We recorded this album when Linda was in the final stages of cancer, he looked back in 2018. “She was also very involved in this project. She was very sad when she died. Listening to the album now, it sounds like a requiem for her and it’s so beautiful.” Check out this beautiful track. It will be delivered as a press CD.
