This is Ozzy Osbourne in 1982. The Brad era was about 8 months, but in the meantime, we realized the legendary first visit to Japan and produced the official video work / live album “SPEAK OF THE DEVIL”. The end of the year mini tour in my home country England was held at the end of the day. Only here, Pete Way, who left UFO, was listed as a member. At our shop, such rare tours are also archived with various live albums. Now let’s further focus on the dates and organize the collection.

The above 10 days, all 7 performances. This work is the third work, and it is also the premiere live album of the super rare lineup. This work, which vacuum-packed such a scene, is a vintage but wonderful audience recording. Until now, the highest peak of the Pete era was “GLASGOW 1982 (Shades 1651)”, but this work is as good as that masterpiece. The best thing is the vocals and guitars that stand out clearly. Although it can not be said that the sense of distance is zero, the feeling of air is clear and the core reaches straight, and the lyrics are vivid. The guitar is just as crisp, and you can taste the strangeness of arming. There are some unstable parts that seem not to be the original master (for example, in “Mr. Crowley” there is also a cut that seems to be paused on the way), but the performance sound itself is excellent.
“Of course, Pete’s bass is also clear.” Well, he’s not an amazing technical player to begin with, and the original Bob Daisley left a melodic line. In that sense, although it is not so much a strong unique color, the real pleasure of being able to listen to the groovy and singing bass run clearly is irreplaceable (the moving “Steal Away (The Night)” ” line is cool).
The set is standard for the Brad era, but “Sweet Leaf” shines in it. The above “UK” leg is also the beginning of the “SPEAK OF THE DEVIL Tour”, and the Sabbath song that was not done in the “DIARY OF A MADMAN Tour” has been added.
The “Pete Way era” is as rare as the Bernie Torme era. It is a valuable live album where you can experience the ensemble that you could only imagine from the biography with real sound. Please fully enjoy the phantom scene where British rock heroes intersect.

これが1982年のオジー・オズボーン。ブラッド時代は８ヶ月ほどだったわけですが、その合間に伝説の初来日を実現させ、公式映像作／ライヴアルバムの『SPEAK OF THE DEVIL』も製作しました。その最後の最後に行われたのが母国イギリスでの年末ミニツアー。ここでのみ、UFOを脱退したピート・ウェイがメンバーに名を連ねたのです。当店では、そんな激レアなツアーも様々なライヴアルバムでアーカイヴ。ここで、さらに日程をフォーカスしてコレクションを整理しておきましょう。

以上の10日間・全７公演。本作は３作目であり、激レア・ラインナップの初演ライヴアルバムでもあります。そんな現場を真空パックした本作は、ヴィンテージながらも素晴らしいオーディエンス録音。これまでピート時代の最高峰と言ったら『GLASGOW 1982（Shades 1651）』だったわけですが、本作はあの名作にも負けない。何よりも素晴らしいのはくっきりと際立つヴォーカルとギター。距離感ゼロは言えませんが、その空気感がクリアで芯が真っ直ぐに届き、歌詞の一語一語まで鮮やか。ギターも同じくらい鮮明でして、アーミングの妙もしっかりと味わえる。大元マスターではないらしく不安定な箇所もあります（例えば「Mr. Crowley」では途中で一時停止と思しきカットも）が、演奏音自体は絶品なのです。
もちろん、ピートのベースもはっきり。まあ、元々びっくりするようなテクニカル・プレイヤーではありませんし、オリジナルのボブ・デイズリーもメロディックなラインを残していた。その意味では強烈な独自色というほどではないものの、それでも１音１音がグルーヴィで歌心満載なベースランがくっきり聴ける醍醐味は何物にも替えられません（動きまくる「Steal Away (The Night)」のラインがカッコイイ）。
セットはブラッド時代の標準的なものではありますが、その中で光るのが「Sweet Leaf」。上記「英国」レッグは“SPEAK OF THE DEVIL Tour”の冒頭でもあり、“DIARY OF A MADMAN Tour”ではやっていなかったサバス曲が追加されているのです。
バーニー・トーメ時代と並んで激レアな「ピート・ウェイ時代」。バイオグラフィから想像するしかなかったアンサンブルをリアル・サウンドで体験できる貴重なライヴアルバムです。英国ロックの英雄同士が交錯した幻の現場、どうぞ存分にご堪能ください。
