Shock, quake, earth-shattering … I don’t know what to say anymore. I just can’t believe it. A ridiculous professional shot that perfectly captures the legendary first visit to Japan is the world’s first public release. Two permanent press DVD titles that will shock collectors around the world will be released at the same time!
[“Afternoon part” which was also the main of the legendary broadcast] Engraved in such a two-part series is the “April 2, 1977: Nippon Budokan” performance. This work is a multi-camera pro shot of the first “afternoon section”. Speaking of professional shots at that time, the TV broadcast of “Young Music Show” is also famous, but in the first place there are 4 performances of “First Visit to Japan Budokan” itself, and various versions are mixed up due to differences in broadcasting / editing. . A total of 9 performances. The second half was the finish with four consecutive performances at Nippon Budokan, but on the second day, “April 2nd”, two performances were held on the first day. The famous TV broadcast pro shot was shot and edited in both the “afternoon part / night part”, but the main one was the “afternoon part”. This work is a complete recording of only such “afternoon part”.
What’s more, “Afternoon Part: Complete Video” will be unveiled to the world for the first time. Recently, our shop has discovered and introduced sound boards that have leaked out from various stakeholders through our own route, but this work was also brought from the same route. The start was unintentionally long, but of course the main part of the show was also complete. In order to experience the overwhelming expansion, let’s compare it with the most famous “A” here and the closest “D” in terms of content.

If you are an avid collector, you may remember the “Afternoon Section” limited gift board “BUDOKAN 1977 2ND NIGHT: AFTERNOON SHOW (that is, D)”, but it is not complete and the recording time is about 60 minutes. This new master is 22 minutes longer than that. Moreover, not only is it long, but the performance is the same as the broadcast version, but there are songs with different angles. Was it another angle editing, was the video of the “night part” mixed in, or both? From now on, KISS researchers around the world will be verifying it.
“It’s truly a shocking, earth-shattering complete version.” 45 years from the scene of this work. I never expected to introduce such a miraculous video on the day of the encore visit to Japan. This week, the entire two performances have leaked out, but this work, which is the “afternoon section”, is closer to the conventional version and can be enjoyed as the “original source of the legendary broadcast”. 【伝説放送のメインでもあった「午後の部」】
そんな驚愕２連作に刻まれているのは「1977年４月２日：日本武道館」公演。本作は、その第一弾である「午後の部」のマルチカメラ・プロショットです。当時のプロショットと言えば“ヤング・ミュージック・ショー”のTV放送も有名ですが、そもそも「初来日の武道館」自体が４公演もあり、放送違い／編集違いで様々なバージョンも入り乱れています。その辺の状況を整理する意味でも、まずは洋楽史の一大事件だった来日スケジュールから紐解いてみましょう。

以上、全９公演。後半は日本武道館の４連続公演でフィニッシュだったわけですが、その２日目「４月２日」は１日に２公演を実施。有名なTV放送プロショットは「午後の部／夜の部」の両方で撮影・編集されていたわけですが、メインだったのは「午後の部」の方。本作は、そんな「午後の部」だけを完全収録しているのです。
しかも「午後の部：完全映像」は今回が全世界初公開。このところ、当店では独自ルートでさまざまな関係者流出サウンドボードを発掘・ご紹介してきたわけですが、本作も同じルートからもたらされたもの。これまでは４種「Ａ：日本放送版」「Ｂ：アメリカ放送版」「Ｃ：公式KISSOLOGY版」「Ｄ：長尺ギフト版（午後の部）」があったわけですが、本作はそのどれよりも長いのです。
【まるで生中継のような完全版のド迫力】
その異様な迫力は冒頭から全開。TV放送版は有名なミラーボールのシーンから始まりましたが、本作はそのずっと前からスタート。恐らく暗転と同時に撮影が始まったと思われ、天井から吊された日の丸が暗闇にぼんやり浮かんでいる。それがサッと消えてミラーボールに切り替わるのですが、そこで開演を察知した悲鳴が大噴火！ そして、その悲鳴がやや落ち着いてきたところで、やっと例の「Alright, Tokio! You wanted the best…」が場内に鳴り響く。このシーンにたどり着くまで放送ではホンの数秒でしたが、本作は実に約３分半（！！！）。まるで生中継で開始を待っているかのような、超リアルタイム感覚なのです。
思わずスタートだけで長くなってしまいましたが、もちろん肝心なショウ本編も完全形。その圧倒的な拡張ぶりを実感していただくためにも、ここで一番有名な「Ａ」や内容的に一番近い「Ｄ」と比較してみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。各人のソロを省略しているので曲数は参考ですが、圧倒的に長尺なのがご理解頂けるでしょう。熱心なコレクター諸兄なら「午後の部」限定のギフト盤『BUDOKAN 1977 2ND NIGHT: AFTERNOON SHOW（つまりＤ）』をご記憶かと思いますが、あれも完全ではなく収録時間は約60分。今回の新マスターは、それより22分も長いのです。しかも長いだけでなく、演奏が放送版と同じなのに、アングルが違う曲もある。別アングル編集なのか、「夜の部」の映像も混ぜ込んでいたのか、あるいはその両方か。これから全世界のKISS研究家が検証していくことになるのでしょう。
まさに衝撃、驚天動地の完全版です。本作の現場から45年。まさかアンコール来日の当日に、こんな奇跡の映像をご紹介することになろうとは。今週は２公演分が丸ごと流出したわけですが、「午後の部」である本作はより従来盤に近く「伝説放送の大元」としても楽しめる。日本洋楽史でも最大級となる文化遺産を永久保存するプレスDVD。全霊で正対していただきたい永遠の１枚が誕生です。
