After completing the album “STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS”, Oasis with new members went around the American event to unveil it in December 1999. The pattern is being broadcast in it, thanks to appearing in an event hosted by an American radio station.
It was Anaheim on December 11th that became known to fans in this way. The title “HELTER SKELTER CHRISTMAS” was released in the rear tie, and above all, the fans were excited because the live performance of the new oasis could be heard on the stereo sound board recording.
Therefore, although it is rough, the sound quality is good enough, but there are two skips in the middle of “Supersonic” and in “Helter Skelter”, and there is a defect at the beginning of the performance of “Champagne Supernova”. Difficulty. Even so, the latest live performance was immediately heard on the sound board, which was a hot topic.
After that, the album was released and the 2000 tour was turbulent, so this 1999 live was not talked about at all, but it was just a warm-up stage of a new band. I wonder if I can do it if I think about it.

More than 20 years have passed since the first live activity of such a new oasis, and when I ask it again, the performance content is very interesting although it is short.
The overall tempo of the performance on this day was slow, and it was also interesting to get the impression that it was the most “laid back” in the history of Oasis live performances. The new members have just joined and the repertoire is all past songs, but it would be valuable now to have a live performance that is so relaxed.
Even for Noel when it comes to “Supersonic,” it’s funny that the tempo has been raised from the middle, perhaps because the performance seemed too slow.
In contrast to the band’s performance, Liam’s voice is in great shape as he has been performing live since the end of the previous year’s tour. Moreover, because it is a short stage, he sings to his heart’s content.
It is a stereo sound board recording full of such nostalgia, but this gift is a maniac who made up for the missing part of the previous “HELTER SKELTER CHRISTMAS” with another source. The other source used for compensation is full of sound, and it is presumed that the quality is so full that it is unbearable to hear, but it is still a big point that the skipping has been eliminated.
In particular, the parts of “Champagne Supernova” and “Helter Skelter” have been adjusted neatly, and the finish is fully enjoyable even if you close your eyes to the discomfort of the sound quality. The nostalgic stereo sound board recording of the oasis transition period has been revived for a long time with this gift CD-R, and it has been reborn as easy to hear!

アルバム「STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS」を完成させた後、新メンバーを加えたオアシスがお披露目を兼ねてアメリカのイベント廻りを行ったのが1999年の12月。その中にはアメリカのラジオ局が主催したイベントに出演したおかげで、その模様が放送されています。
こうしてファンに知れ渡ることになったのが12月11日のアナハイム。それは「HELTER SKELTER CHRISTMAS」というタイトルがリアタイでリリースされ、何より新生オアシスのライブがステレオ・サウンドボード録音で聞けるということからファンは色めきだったものでした。
よって粗めながらも音質は十分に良好なのですが「Supersonic」の途中、さらに「Helter Skelter」では二か所も音飛びがあり、また「Champagne Supernova」の演奏開始時にも欠損があるというのが難点。それでもなお最新のライブがさっそくサウンドボードで聞けたということで話題を呼んだものです。
その後アルバムがリリースされ、さらに波乱万丈だった2000年ツアーが行われたことで、この1999年のライブはまったく話題に上らなくなってしまいますが、あくまで新しいバンドのウォームアップ的なステージであったことを考えれば致し方ないかと。

そんな新生オアシス最初のライブ活動からも20年以上の歳月が経過し、改めて聞いてみると短いながらも演奏内容は非常に面白いものがあります。
この日の演奏は全体的にテンポが遅く、オアシスのライブ史上もっとも「レイドバック」した印象を受けるのがまた面白い。新メンバーは加入したばかりでレパートリーも過去の曲ばかりですが、それらをこれほどまでゆったりと演奏しているライブというのも今となっては貴重でしょう。
「Supersonic」に至ってはノエルとしても、あまりに演奏が遅すぎるように映ったのか途中からテンポが上げられているのが微笑ましい。
そんなバンドの演奏とは対照的にリアムは前年のツアー終了以来のライブ活動ということで声は絶好調。しかも短いステージということからなおさら思う存分に歌いあげてくれる。
そんな懐かしさいっぱいなステレオ・サウンドボード録音ですが、先の「HELTER SKELTER CHRISTMAS」の欠損個所をマニアが別ソースで補ったのが本ギフト。補填に使われた別ソースは音がこもっており、なるほどフルで聞くには忍びないクオリティなのだと推測されますが、それでもあの音飛びが解消されたという点は大きい。
特に「Champagne Supernova」と「Helter Skelter」の個所は奇麗にアジャストされており、音質の違和感に目をつぶっても十分に楽しめる仕上がり。オアシス過度期の懐かしいステレオ・サウンドボード録音が本ギフトCD-Rにて久々の復活、しかも聞きやすく生まれ変わりました！
