A tremendous amount of power … In words that apply to the earmoni recording of the 2009 Eden Project performance of Oasis, which will be released this time. Around this time, fans were taking advantage of the evolution of recording equipment and recording gigs with earphones. Even items based on the performances in Japan were actually released. They tried to get rid of the overly direct balance of the earmoni recordings by mixing them with the audience recordings, but in most cases it seemed that only Liam Gallagher’s voice stood out and the outline of the performance was blurred. I can’t.
Some earmoni recordings were also produced from the UK tour after the performance in Japan. For example, in the Cardiff performance on June 12, although the earmoni sound source appeared on the net in real time, this was a typical earmoni sound quality. It is. Not only was it direct but monaural and crushed, but above all, the interception of earphones was not stable, and there was a problem that noise was introduced from beginning to end. Furthermore, the earmoni sound source of the V Festival in August, which became the last gig of the oasis, was also famous from that time, but this was also a rough and unbalanced sound source.

In that respect, I am surprised that the Eden Project on July 14th, which will be released this time, is an excellent sound source that is not hard to hear, which is often the case with earmoni recordings. In the first place, the stability of the original recording is outstanding, and there is almost no unpleasant interception noise. The enthusiast synchronized the audience recording with such a sound source, and the balance is really wonderful. It’s not the state where only the loudness of Liam’s voice is conspicuous like the recording of the Japanese performance a few months ago, but the sense of separation of the performance and the sense of presence of the live are both exquisite. By this processing, the dead texture that is often found in earphone recordings at that time and the balance that is too direct are brilliantly eliminated.
However, after more than 10 years have passed, there are some piercing parts such as the sound of the cymbals, so I eased them by equalizing.
Speaking of unpleasant sound sources, I get the impression that the presence is thin, but the balance of synchronization is so wonderful that I do not feel such stress at all. The sense of presence is also truly wonderful, and the balance of the clapping of hands in “Half The World Away” sung by Noel Gallagher is another exquisite word. Of course, the balance between the performance and the big chorus in the encore “Don’t Look Back In Anger” is also wonderful. If this happens, I wonder if I can enjoy it as if I were listening to a live album.

In the first place, the final tour process after June has surprisingly few items, and the official iTunes Festival is not currently distributed on the subscription, and there is no way to listen to it only on the bonus disc of the best compilation album “TIME FLIES”. There were problems such as the FM broadcast version of it, and the sound sources that broadcast the festivals in Denmark and Switzerland that existed at that time were now difficult to obtain, and Liam’s tone was uneven. Among them, it is famous that Liam was so rough at the iTunes Festival that he rarely sang “My Big Mouth”.
Then, as for the Eden Project this time, the direct feeling of Liam’s singing voice is strengthened because it is an earmoni recording, but he is in very good condition on that day. Rather, if you hear him yelling “Thank you Berima … Chatcha!” When he finishes singing “Songbird” because of the balance unique to Iyamoni, you will feel the good performance.
Also, from around “The Shock Of The Lightning”, you can clearly see how he is fully open, and the performance of this song is really wonderful. The final stage of the 2009 tour was the time when the hard live sound of the album “DIG OUT YOUR SOUL” mode reached the maturity level, and because of the texture of the earmoni recording, it perfectly matches the rough sound of this time. .. It is no exaggeration to say that he captured the final system of the 2009 oasis more realistically than the broadcast sound sources mentioned above.

And the original sound source recorded the sound check (without Liam) of the day as a bonus, but it will be adopted as it is for this limited press CD release. However, although it is this part, noise occurs frequently probably because the recorder also makes use of the sound check to adjust the interception of the earphones. Above all, “Live Forever” at the beginning had too much noise and blank space, so I cut it. Furthermore, in the latter half of the sound check, the scene of just playing the instrument continues, so this is also cut. Even in “Half The World Away”, noise frequently occurs, and the sound source has a bare bonus feeling, but the result of the effort here was a wonderful recording in the actual production.
Still, it is a fact that a valuable scene is captured, and after all, it seems that Noel is trying “Gas Panic!”, Which has disappeared from the repertoire for a long time, and it seems to be a sound check, so I caught this scene. It’s a good job to get lost. Furthermore, in front of “Falling Down”, it is also valuable to hear the scene of playing the riff of Fleetwood Mac “Oh Well” which is reminiscent of the 2000 tour.
Noel himself gave a gig at the 2009 Eden Project, which he said was “fun” in his diary at the time. This is the best matrix album of Iyamoni & Audience that captures the high-tension performance and Liam singing in a good mood in the heavy rain. Speaking of rain, the original sound source included the announcement of the venue before the appearance of Oasis, but there was no choice but to cut it because the sound of rain hit the microphone and could not be heard!

「Half The World Away」でもノイズが頻発するなど、あくまでボーナス感が丸出しな音源ですが、ここでの努力の成果が本番での見事な録音だったのですね。
