This is a nice reprint of “Jamming with Edward!”, Which is currently out of print, using the UK original LP.

This album, “Jamming with Edward!”, Was released in the United Kingdom and the United States in January 1972 and is ranked 33rd in the United States.
The content is said to be a recording of a jam session held at the Olympic Studios by Mick, Bill, Charlie and Nicky Hopkins, and Ry Cooder during the recording of Let It Bleed in 1969. This was also the time when the Stones returned to their roots music, the blues.
That’s why it’s basically an improvisation based on blues. Track 2 “It Hurts Me Too” is a cover of Elmore James. On track 5, you can hear “Uruwashi no Yoi e”, which is famous for Mario Lanza’s singing, although it is very small.
As for the episode of this album release, it seems that it was released at a low price in the UK and the domestic version was also released at a lower price than the record price at that time.

Until the CD was released in 1995, it was not converted to a digital sound source, and in the past, items reprinted from the analog record were released as in this gift project, but it is unique to the original record that sets it apart from them. It is a gift that you can enjoy with the sound of. The reason is none other than the careful tracing of the original UK version of mint condition.

このアルバム、「ジャミング・ウイズ・エドワード!」は72年1月に英国ならびに米国で発売されに米国では33位にランクインしています。
内容は69年のレット・イット・ブリード録音時にミック、ビル、チャーリーとニッキー・ホプキンス、ライ・クーダーの五人がオリンピック・スタジオでおこなったジャム・セッションを収録したものと言われています。この時期ストーンズは彼らのルーツ・ミュージックであるブルースに回帰した時期でもありました。
それ故か基本的にはブルースを基調とした即興演奏です。トラック2の”It Hurts Me Too”はエルモア・ジェームスのカバーとなってます。トラック5ではごくわずかですがマリオ・ランツァの歌唱で有名な”うるわしの宵へ”が聴くことができます。
このアルバム発売のエピソードとしては、英国ではあえて安価での発売され国内盤も当時のレコード価格と比較しても低め目の価格設定で発売されたようです。
基本的にはニッキーのピアノがメインでそれにこのアルバムが発売された72年当時ソロ・アーチストとして注目されていたライ・クーダーのスライドが絡む展開がこのセッションアルバム全体の構成となっています。全編にわたり2人の素晴らしい演奏を聴くことができます。ニッキーのピアノ好きの方にはトラック3、トラック6が、ライ・クーダーのギター好きの方にはトラック2、トラック4が堪らん！でしょう。またチャーリーとビルのストーンズ・リズム隊も安定のサポートです。
そしてなによりもかによりもニッキーのストーンズへの貢献の大きさをあらためて思い出されるアルバムです！このセッションは1時間半ほど行われたと伝えられているので、いづれは全編が発売されることを願いたいものです。
95年にCD発売されるまでデジタル音源化はなされておらず、かっては今回のギフト企画と同じようにアナログ盤から復刻したアイテムが発売されていましたが、それらとは一線を画すオリジナル盤ならではの音でお楽しみいただけるギフトとなっています。そのワケはミント・コンディションのオリジナルUK盤を丁寧にトレースしたからに他なりません。
