Live at Shibuya Kokaido, Tokyo, Japan 26th June 1982 plus Ltd Bonus 2CDR “EUROPEAN BROADCAST 1982”
MOTORHEAD’s first visit to Japan, which was realized during the Brian “Robo” Robertson era. The legendary masterpiece that tells the scene is a reprint release decision.
Engraved on this work is the “June 26, 1982: Shibuya Public Hall” performance. It is a super-superb audience recording that vacuum-packed the whole story. Speaking of the Robo era, the gravitational singularity in the history of MOTORHEAD, which is also known for the mysterious work “Devil’s Incarnation”. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s look back on the whole activity and check the position of the first visit to Japan.

<November: Robertson withdraws>
This is the 1982/1983 MOTORHEAD. When the North American leg of the “IRON FIST Tour” began, Eddie Clark withdrew and the golden trio collapsed. Robo joins as a substitute. They landed in Japan about a month after the historical replacement drama. Speaking of their first visit to Japan, there is another press masterpiece “TOKYO 1982: DEFINITIVE MASTER (Zodiac 462)”, but this work is a completely different performance. Let’s focus on the schedule to visit Japan and check the positional relationship between both works.
・ June 26: Shibuya Public Hall ← This work
・June 28: Mainichi Hall
・June 29 “TOKYO 1982 (Nakano)”
・June 30: Tokyo Postal Savings Hall
・July 1: Nagoya City Public Hall
All five performances above. The Shibuya performance of this work was the first day of the first visit to Japan. This work, which recorded the first meeting between Japan and MOTORHEAD, is a miracle-level super-superb recording. It is an original recording of Mr. “Miracle Man” who was a master of the world, and it is a product that has been digitized directly from the original cassette.
If I were to describe the sound in one word, it would be “just like a soundboard.” It is also a type that has both a neat and fresh natural feeling. For example, the Nakano performance press masterpiece “TOKYO 1982: DEFINITIVE MASTER” also boasts a strong core strength and direct feeling, but its ringing was also somewhat rough. Of course, the rough sound suits MOTORHEAD, but this work is more for everyone. If you have noticed this article, I think you know the FM broadcast of IRON MAIDEN’s first visit to Japan, but the well-organized sound of this work is similar to that FM sound board. It is a neat and superb sound that would convince you if you were told, “Actually, MOTORHEAD was also broadcast on the radio.”
The legendary full show is portrayed with such a beautiful and powerful sound. Speaking of live performances in the Robo era, the official Manchester performance sound board is a symbol, but that is the “ANOTHER PERFECT DAY Tour” and the set is significantly different from this work. Let’s organize them by comparing them here.
● Ace of Spades (6 songs)
・Shoot You in the Back/The Hammer(★)/Jailbait(★)/(We Are) The Road Crew(★)/Bite the Bullet/The Chase Is Better Than the Catch
● Others (9 songs)
・Iron Fist: Iron Fist (★) / Heart of Stone / Go to Hell / (Don’t Need) Religion / America
・Other: I’m Your Hoochie Coochie Man/Overkill(★)/Bomber(★)/Motorhead(★)
* Note: “★” marks are songs that cannot be heard on the official Manchester performance soundboard.
… and it looks like this. In the “ANOTHER PERFECT DAY Tour”, Remy, who was angry at the review that criticized “Devil’s Incarnation”, removed the standard songs, but on his first visit to Japan, he behaved on a large scale. For us Japanese, memories of our first visit to Japan precede, but even from a global perspective, it is also a cultural heritage where you can fully enjoy “representative songs played by Robo”.
Japan almost missed out on experiencing the “Golden Trio”. However, I was fortunate to be able to live experience the Brian Robertson era, which is extremely precious when I look back from now on. A masterpiece that allows you to fully experience such a scene with the finest sound of FM broadcasting. Please enjoy the permanent preservation press CD anytime, forever.
★ “June 26, 1982: Shibuya public hall” super-best audience recording. A masterpiece that was digitized from the original cassette of the master “Miracle Man” and conveys the legendary first visit to Japan. Not only does it have a direct feeling that goes “just like a sound board” on the ground, but it also has a neat and fresh natural feeling. It is a miraculous sound that is as good as an FM soundboard, and it is a cultural heritage album that not only comes to Japan for the first time, but also allows you to enjoy the full show of the Robo era, which is valuable worldwide.
Motorhead / European Broadcast 1982 / 2CDR / Non label
Limburghal, Genk, Belgium 21st October 1982 &Wiener Stadthalle, Vienna, Austria 7th November 1982
The main press CD is a cultural heritage that allows you to fully experience the legendary first visit to Japan with super and superb sound like an FM soundboard. It is a masterpiece that allows you to experience the full show of the Brian Robertson era, which is valuable even from a global perspective. On the other hand, there are some genuine soundboards left in the Robo era. Therefore, even in the Robo era, a special bonus will be attached to a 2-disc set that allows you to collect the same “IRON FIST Tour” sound board as the main press CD at once.
This work contains two FM soundboard recordings. The 7th performance of “Europe # 2” in the schedule of the commentary on the main part, “Genk Performance on October 21, 1982”, was placed on DISC 1, and the 20th performance, “November 7th of the same year, Vienna Performance” was placed on DISC 2. It’s a set of 2. These two performances were broadcast and have been loved as valuable soundboard recordings in the Robo era for a long time. In particular, “Henk Recording (DISC 1)” has been adopted as one song “Nadine” in the official box “STONE DEAF FOREVER!” Henk performance). This work is a two-disc set that collects such traditional FM soundboards with the best masters.
Also, speaking of the soundboard of the Robo era, in addition to the official Manchester performance, the definitive edition “ANOTHER PERFECT COLLECTION (Shades 1603)” is also a big staple at our store. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s check out the Robo era soundboard collection here.

・November 7 Vienna performance ←★ DISC 2 ★
● 1983

… and it looks like this. In other words, the official deluxe edition of “ANOTHER PERFECT DAY”, our “ANOTHER PERFECT COLLECTION”, and the Robo era sound board are complete in this work. Well, such a work is not only collection value. The biggest point is that you can enjoy the repertoire that you can not listen to on the official sound board or the main press CD. Let’s check the set while comparing.
-Common songs for both days (6 songs)
・Iron Fist: Heart of Stone/Go to Hell/America
・Others: Turn You Round Again(★★)/(I’m Your) Hoochie Coochie Man/Nadine(★★)
● Only one song (8 songs)
・ DISC 1 (Genk performance) only: Iron Fist / (Don’t Need) Religion / I Got Mine (★)
・ DISC 2 (Vienna performance) only: Iron Horse-Born to Lose (★) / Capricorn (★★) / Overkill / Shoot You In The Back / (We Are) The Road Crew
* Note: “★” marks are songs that cannot be heard on the main press CD. In particular, the “★★” marks are songs that are not even on the decision board sound board “ANOTHER PERFECT COLLECTION”.
As a matter of fact, the main press CD is better in terms of sound quality. However, it is because the main part “FIRST BOMBER IN JAPAN” is too miraculous recording rather than saying that this work is inferior. And this work itself is also a live album where you can enjoy a delicious repertoire such as the valuable “Turn You Round Again”, Chuck Berry’s “Nadine”, and the Robo version of “Capricorn”. A sound board album that pours into the brain the “Melodic MOTORHEAD” of the Robo era, which is different from any other era. Please enjoy it to the fullest along with the main press CD.
