A must-have collection of three of Miles Davis’s precious 1972 live shows. There were so many live performances in 1971 the previous year and 1973 the following year, but this 1972 only counts a few performances. So what did Miles do? He was working in a studio recording. It is a recording of the second problematic work following “Bitches Brew”, and the street funk album “On the Corner”, which is touted as a masterpiece in modern times. And this is the live that was done after the recording. An electric sitar and a tabla player participated in the band to leave the influence of the “on the corner” session. You can enjoy the exotic sound only at this time. The set list is also unique, and fans’ coveted things such as “Black Satin” recorded in “On the Corner” and “Light Off” recorded in “Jack Johnson”. However, as mentioned above, the number of performances is small, only a few performances from late September to early October. Among them, the ones with good sound quality are recorded here. Both use FM Broadcast Master and are 70 to 80 points level (out of 100 points). By the way, there are some sound sources that are not recorded here, but they are not at a very audible level. In other words, the decent live sound source of 1972 is complete with this one item. All have the latest remastering edits. In addition, the sound source at Stanford University recorded on Disc 3 is also on the market that claims to be complete, but since this is a supplement to the missing part from the Ann Arbor performance of Disc 1, only Stanford is purely here. The first press version will come with a DVDR containing live footage from the following year’s Village East as a limited bonus. This was broadcast on TV as “PRINCE OF DARKNESS”, but the image quality is not good and psychedelic video effects are applied, so it cannot be commercialized as a single item. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain and the members are almost the same as the main story (the saxophonist is different), which is a nice bonus as a collection.

マイルス・デイヴィスの貴重な1972年の重要ライヴを三つカップリングした必携コレクションです。前年の1971年と翌年の1973年は非常に多くのライヴが行われていましたが、この1972年は数公演を数えるのみ。じゃあマイルスは何をしていたのかと言うと、スタジオ録音に勤しんでいたのです。『ビッチェズ・ブリュウ』に続く第二の問題作、そして現代では大名盤と謳われているストリート・ファンク・アルバム『オン・ザ・コーナー』の録音です。そして録音を終えて行われたライヴがこれなのです。『オン・ザ・コーナー』セッションの影響を残すようにバンドにはなんとエレクトリック・シタールとタブラ奏者が参加。この時期だけのエキゾチックなサウンドが楽しめます。セット・リストも独特で、『オン・ザ・コーナー』収録の“ブラック・サテン”や『ジャック・ジョンソン』収録の“ライト・オフ”といったこの時期ならではのファン垂涎モノ。しかし前述の通り公演数は少なく、9月下旬から10月頭の数公演のみ。その中で音質の良いものをここに収録したわけです。いずれもFMのブロード・キャスト・マスターを使用してあり70点から80点レベル（100点満点中）。因みにここに収録されていない音源も存在こそしますがとても聴けるレヴェルではありません。つまり1972年のまともなライヴ音源はこのアイテムひとつで揃うというわけです。いずれも最新のリマスタリング編集が施されています。尚、ディスク3に収録されているスタンフォード大学での音源はコンプリートを謳ったものも出回っていますが、これは欠落部分をディスク1のアナーバー公演から補ったものであるため、ここでは純粋にスタンフォードだけの音源で収録となっています。
初回プレス版には限定ボーナスとして翌年のヴィレッジ・イーストでのライヴ映像を収録したDVDRが付きます。これは『PRINCE OF DARKNESS』としてテレビ放送されたものですが、画質が良くない上にサイケデリックな映像効果もかけられており、単品で商品化できるものではありません。従ってなかなか入手できないうえメンバーも本編とほぼ同じ（サックス奏者が違います）で、コレクションとしてありがたいボーナスなのです。
