The legendary first visit to Japan, which was realized in the summer 40 years ago and produced the “Flying Legend”. The Osaka sound board recording has been completely expanded. It is decided to release two works at the same time with the permanent storage press 2CD. This work is the first one. This is a stereo sound board recording of “August 19, 1981: Osaka Festival Hall (afternoon)”.

Speaking of MSG’s first visit to Japan, first and foremost, “Flying Legend”, but in addition to the Nippon Budokan that was the stage, the finest sound board was left in the Osaka 2 performances. It was officially officially bootlegged more than 10 years ago, but it is already out of print. Moreover, while the quality was excellent, the incomplete recording was also a flaw in the ball. This work appeared there. Based on the superb master equivalent to the official sound board, supplemented with the highest peak audience recording of the same day that was missing. I finished it as a complete full live album.
This week, two consecutive releases of such a complete version. We have archived many masterpieces of MSG’s first visit to Japan, so let’s organize the collection by schedule as well.

Above, all 6 performances. In Osaka, two performances will be held a day on “August 19th”, and these two performances will be released at the same time this week. This work is a full live album of “Afternoon Club”.
The quality is just the best stereo sound board. If you know the official version, you can think that it is completely the same. If you haven’t experienced it, please consider it as “completely official class”. You might think, “It’s natural because it was officially released,” but it’s not that simple. The MSG and UFO excavation soundboards, even if official, are pinch, and some things have digital degradation that makes you wonder, “Are you going through mp3s?” However, the Osaka Sound Board is an exception among the exceptions. Although the mix is ​​a rough table connection, the sound itself is super beautiful and there is no aging or digital deterioration. It is a superb quality of a dimension that is not so much even in the official masterpiece of regular release.
The length of the complete recording is beyond the official level as it is the official class so far. The compensation situation is different between the “afternoon section” and the “night section”, so let’s organize them together with the set here.

… And it looks like this. In the songs below, it may seem that “Tales Of Mystery” also has compensation, but this is only between songs. Roughly speaking, only two places, “Valkyrie at the beginning” and “Drum solo / Guitar solo in the second half”, are recorded by the audience. “Lost Horizons” will also become a soundboard before the band comes in.
And the audience recording used for compensation is also the best. The clear and clear air is wonderful, the powerful core approaches in front of you, and the details are really delicate. It’s hard to say “I don’t know how to switch to a sound board”, but it’s an on-and-beautiful recording that makes you want to call it “FM broadcast”. As a matter of fact, contrary to this work, a press CD project called “mainly audience recording and complementing the tape change part with a sound board” was also considered.
The complete system that was born in this way is a masterpiece that surpasses the Nippon Budokan. “Flying Legend” is also famous for being overdubbed and replaced in large numbers, but that can’t be helped. As a matter of fact, the first visit to Japan was at the beginning of the tour that was held after finishing “Myth” (actually, I also appeared in PINKPOP FESTIVAL as a warm-up, but there is no new song of “Myth” and until I come to Japan. It was two months free). The Budokan performance was the first day of the performance, and it was almost a real hit. The new song was the world premiere. Well, I think that I made an official live board at such a show, but after two performances after that, it grew rapidly. Although I can’t say that I’m familiar with the whole body, I’m doing a full show that is firmly audible without overdubbing or replacement.

In 2009, the official “Flying Legend” was expanded to the full version, but this work is the Osaka edition. A full live album that is complemented by the best audience recording on the uncensored and unprocessed super-superb stereo sound board. One of the transcendental performances that surpasses the Nippon Budokan, which is directly poured into the brain with 100% of the original students. MSGの初来日と言えば、何よりもまず『飛翔伝説』ですが、その舞台となった日本武道館以外にも大阪２公演でも極上サウンドボードが残されました。10年以上前にオフィシャル・ブートレッグとして公式化されたこともありましたが、既に廃盤。しかもクオリティは極上な一方で、不完全収録が玉に瑕でもありました。そこで登場したのが本作。公式サウンドボードと同等の超極上マスターをベースに、欠けていた同日の最高峰オーディエンス録音で補完。完全形のフル・ライヴアルバムに仕上げました。
今週は、そんな完全版２連続の同時リリース。当店ではMSG初来日を数々の傑作でアーカイヴしておりますので、それらも併せて日程でコレクションを整理しておきましょう。

以上、全６公演。大阪は「８月19日」に１日２公演が行われ、今週はその２公演が同時リリース。本作は「午後の部」のフル・ライヴアルバムです。
そのクオリティは、まさに超極上のステレオ・サウンドボード。公式版をご存知の方でしたら完全に同格と思っていただいて構いません。もし体験されていない方なら「完全オフィシャル級」とお考えください。「公式リリースされたんだから当たり前だろ」と思われるかも知れませんが、そう単純な話でもないのです。MSGやUFOの発掘サウンドボードは公式だとしてもピンキリで、物によっては「mp3を経由してる？」と疑りたくなるデジタル劣化があったりする。しかし、大阪サウンドボードは例外中の例外。ミックスは荒っぽい卓直結系ではあるものの、サウンド自体は超美麗で経年劣化もデジタル劣化もない。レギュラー・リリースの公式名盤でもそうそうない次元の超極上クオリティなのです。
ここまではオフィシャル級だとして、公式超えを果たしているのが完全収録の長さ。「午後の部」と「夜の部」では補填状況も異なりますので、ここでセットと共に整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。下記曲目では「Tales Of Mystery」にも補填があるように見えるかも知れませんが、ここはあくまで曲間のみ。ざっくり言いますと「冒頭のワルキューレ」と「後半のドラムソロ／ギターソロ」の２ヶ所だけがオーディエンス録音。「Lost Horizons」もバンドが入ってくる前にサウンドボードになります。
そして、補填に使用したオーディエンス録音がまた極上。クリアに透き通った空気感が素晴らしく、力強い芯が目の前にグイグイと迫り、ディテールも実に細やか。さすがに「サウンドボードとの切り替えが分からない」とまでは言えませんが、いわゆる「まるでFM放送」と言いたくなるようなオンで美麗な名録音。実のところ、本作とは逆に「オーディエンス録音をメインに、テープチェンジ部をサウンドボードで補完」というプレスCD企画も検討されたほどなのです。
そうして誕生した完全系は、日本武道館を超える名演。『飛翔伝説』は大量のオーバーダブや差し替えが行われた事でも有名ですが、それも仕方がない。実のところ、何しろ初来日は『神話』を仕上げた後に行われたツアー冒頭（実際にはウォームアップ的にPINKPOP FESTIVALへも出演しましたが、『神話』の新曲はない上に来日まで２ヶ月も間が空いていました）。武道館公演はその初日であり、ほとんどぶっつけ本番。新曲に至っては全世界初演だったわけです。よくもまぁ、そんなショウで公式ライヴ盤を作ったものだとも思いますが、その後２公演を経たことで急速に成長。まだまだ全身に馴染んでいるとは言えないものの、オーバーダブや差し替えなしでもしっかりと聴き応えのあるフルショウを繰り広げているのです。

2009年にはオフィシャル『飛翔伝説』も完全版へと拡張されましたが、本作はその大阪編となるものです。無修正・無加工ながら超極上なド直結ステレオ・サウンドボードに、極上オーディエンス録音で補完したフル・ライヴアルバム。日本武道館を超える演奏が本生100％のまま脳みその直接流し込まれる超絶の１本。どうぞ、永久保存プレス２CDで存分にお楽しみください。
