MEGADETH’s latest Japan tour, which is monopolizing the topic of the metal scene. A superb video that allows you to experience the scene from a special seat is now available.
This work contains audience shots from two performances. This is a two-disc set with “February 24, 2023: Toyosu PIT Performance” on DISC 1 and “February 28, 2023: Grand Cube Osaka Performance” on DISC 2. Speaking of the latest footage from Japan, Nippon Budokan’s delivery pro shot is a hot topic, but of course this work is a separate performance. First of all, let’s organize each video according to the schedule.

Although the Osaka performance (DISC 2) wasn’t that far, it was still about the 5th row directly in front of Mustaine. This is also a powerful shot that can not be a normal audience shot. Moreover, with this sense of distance, if you shake the camera left and right, you can hold down the highlights from end to end of the stage. Although the impact of the ultimate experience is given to the Toyosu performance (DISC 1), the visibility and dynamism as a video work are higher here (and the sound that is not too close is also higher). … and it looks like this. Basically, it is a slim style of Nippon Budokan, and the new song “Soldier On!” was also omitted in the final Osaka. However, the interesting thing about music is that big doesn’t always mean small. The effect of slimming down the set is remarkable, and Mustaine’s vocals are very strong. As expected, it would be too much to say, “It’s more amazing than the heyday!”
The Budokan video where you can enjoy the professional shot of Marty Friedman co-starring was also historical, but this work is historical in a completely different sense. I have introduced many MEGADETH images so far, but I can not think of anything other than this work such as “Full show experience while staring at Mustaine”. Of course, the delivery pro shot is amazing, but this work is an inevitable absolute work for collectors who have stepped in from there. Please fully enjoy the shocking video experience!

そんな本作に収められているのは２公演分のオーディエンス・ショット。「2023年２月24日：豊洲PIT公演」をDISC 1、「同２月28日：グランキューブ大阪公演」をDISC 2に配した２枚組です。最新来日の映像と言えば、日本武道館の配信プロショットが話題を呼んでいますが、当然のことながら本作は別公演。まずは日程で各映像を整理しておきましょう。

【最前列／中央からの究極MEGADETH体験】
以上、全３公演。つまり、本作は日本武道館以外の全部。配信映像と本作で最新来日公演をコンプリートできるわけです。そんな本作は、単なる「配信とは別公演映像」では済まない。それが異様極まるクオリティです。特に強烈なのが豊洲公演（DISC 1）でして、なんと最前席！ それもステージ・センターのド真ん中!! すぐ目の前にマイク・スタンドがあり、そこにデイヴ・ムステインが仁王立ちになって歌う・弾く・吠える！ 最前ですからムステイン以外に視界に入るはずもなく、彼と面と向かい合うフルショウ………これって、究極のMEGADETH体験じゃないですかっ!!!
大阪公演（DISC 2）はそこまでではないものの、やはりムステインの真っ正面で５列目くらい。こちらも普通のオーディエンス・ショットではありえないド迫力ショットです。しかも、この距離感は左右にカメラを振るとステージの端から端まで見どころをキチンと押さえられる。究極体験の衝撃力は豊洲公演（DISC 1）に譲るものの、映像作品としての見やすさ、ダイナミズムはこちらの方が上（さらに付け加えれば、近すぎないサウンドも上）なのです。
【武道館よりも好調だった２公演】
そんな超・特等席から楽しめるのは、日本武道館よりも好調だった２公演。セットも２公演で微妙に異なりますので、ここでまとめて整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。基本的に日本武道館をスリムにしたスタイルで、最終の大阪では新曲「Soldier On!」も省略されてしまいました。しかし、大が小を兼ねるとは限らないのが音楽の面白いところ。セットをスリム化した効果はてきめんで、ムステインのヴォーカルが非常に好調なのです。さすがに「全盛期よりスゴい！」と言ったら盛りすぎですが、日本武道館の配信映像で甘く見ている方にこそ味わって頂きたい本領発揮のショウなのです。
マーティ・フリードマン共演をプロショットで楽しめる武道館映像も歴史的でしたが、本作はまったく別の意味で歴史的。これまで幾多のMEGADETH映像をご紹介してきましたが、「ムステインと睨み合いながらのフルショウ体験」など本作以外では考えられません。配信プロショットがスゴいのは当然として、本作はそこから一歩踏み込んだコレクター諸兄に不可避な絶対作。衝撃の映像体験、どうぞ存分にご堪能ください！
