★ “Memoir: Anthology 2” contains the footsteps of a wide range of musical activities since the 1970s, including solo activities from 1971 to 2018 in the latter half of APPLE, movies and stage soundtracks, and numerous group activities.
While leaving the Beatles APPLE label and continuing her solo activities, Mary Hopkin has reached a mature stage through group activities such as “HOBBY HORSE”, “SUNDANCE” and “OASIS”.
CD1 contains rare singles from the latter half of APPLE. Rare sound sources are completely covered up to the alternate version of “Call me sorrow” sung in Japanese and the last single “Water, Paper and Clay” of APPLE. The single AB songs released in the 1970s, including the precious single of “HOBBY HORSE” in 1972, who participated in group activities with Tony Visconti, the husband of Mary who was famous as a producer of David Bowie and T Rex. All covered. In the 1980s, she joined group activities as a member of “SUNDANCE” and “OASIS”. It is also recorded from a valuable TV show at that time. In the 1988 tribute to the poet Dylan Thomas, he performed the Beatles number produced by George Martin. She participated in the anti-war song “No More War” in Eastern Europe in 1991. Since 2000, he has been active on his own label and has released versions of his representative song “Sad Angel” re-recorded in 1977 and 2017, respectively. This is the second anthology that has established itself as an artist and summarizes the footsteps up to the present.

ビートルズのAPPLEレーベルを離れソロ活動を続ける中で、”HOBBY HORSE”や”SUNDANCE””OASIS”といったグループ活動を経て、円熟期を迎えたメリー・ホプキン。
CD1にはAPPLE後期のレアなシングルを順次収録。日本語で歌われた「私を哀しみと呼んで」やAPPLE最後のシングル「水と紙と粘土」のオルタネイト・バージョンまでレア音源は完全網羅。デヴィッド・ボウイやＴレックスのプロデューサーとして名を馳せたメリーの夫であるトニー・ヴィスコンティとグループ活動に参加した1972年”HOBBY HORSE”の貴重なシングルをはじめ、1970年代にリリースされたシングルAB曲はすべて網羅。1980年代に入ると”SUNDANCE””OASIS”のメンバーとしてグループ活動に参加。当時の貴重なTVショウからも収録しています。1988年詩人ディラン・トマスのトリビュートではジョージ・マーティンのプロデュースでビートルズ・ナンバーを披露。1991年にはルーマニア東欧での反戦歌「ノー・モア・ウォー」に参加。2000年以降は自らのレーベルで活動を続け代表曲「悲しき天使」は1977年と2017年にそれぞれ再レコーディングしたバージョンも発表しています1960年代のアイドル人気か70年代以降本格的な音楽活動を貫いてアーティストとしての地位を確立し現在に至るまでの足跡がまとめられたアンソロジー第2弾となっています。
