This day’s live was not distributed in the LP era, and in the early ’90s, “Dazed” and “Whole Lotta’s incomplete SB sound sources appeared.
In the mid-’90s, the audience recording appeared from the nostalgic Savage Beast board, and this is Aud source 1. Recording from the start of the live to “Heaven” head.
In the 2000s, a title that reproduced the full length of a live performance for the first time appeared on the EV board, making full use of two types of Aud sound sources, Aud source 1 and source 2, and SB sound sources. Therefore, Aud source 2 appeared in the form of the main source of the Aud part. After that, full-length albums based on fan titles such as Winston, and titles composed almost entirely of Aud sources from new cod appeared.
Since these titles appeared in the early 2000s, perhaps because there is no good material among net traders, there have been no surprising updates to date.

This time, it will be the culmination title of the ’73 Essen performance, which is currently imaginable.
The three discs of Disc 1-3 are the core section of this title, and the full length of the live version is composed of two types of Aud sound sources. The main source here is Source 2, which is better in terms of sound quality, and Source 1 compensates for the missing part. This is the first Aud live full-length version based on this Aud source 2. By the way, in the past Aud full-length board, source 2 was not used at the beginning).

The 4th and 5th discs are treated like bonus discs, and the whole Aud source 1, which was a sub on Disc 1-3, is recorded straight. However, Source 1 will be recorded from the start of the live to the beginning of “Heaven”, but the whole recording has been since the Savege Beast board.

The final sixth piece is a summary of the two SB sound sources. Originally, SB was only two songs apart from “Dazed” and “Whole Lotta”, so on this board, the missing two songs are recorded on the 6th disc in a pseudo-complete version that compensates for the lack of Aud source. The idea of putting SB into the core Discs 1-3 was a standard recording method before, but at this time it would be better to record separately without putting it into the main source.

Disc1-3 Supplement
There is a new cod board in the title with a similar concept in that it is a title that “composes the full length of the live with only Aud sound sources”, but there is no priority to source 2 with good sound as the main source, but the early stage It seems that the recording format was extremely rough, with source 1 for the middle stage and source 2 for the middle stage. As I mentioned earlier, in this edition, the source 2 (not the net) with good sound is used as the axis, and the missing source 1 is used to compensate for the lack. . In “I Can’t Quit You Baby” in “Whole Lotta Love”, there are a few seconds of missing that can’t be compensated by both Aud sound sources, but here I didn’t dare to compensate for the SB, and this time it’s left as it is. increase.

The sound quality is clearly superior to the existing Savage board, and although it is inferior to Source 2 in terms of clarity, the sound has a good low range, and fans will be able to hear it unexpectedly. There is no one on the net that has recorded only this source 1 in good condition separately, and it can be said that it is definitely the best version of Aud source 1 while treating it as a maniac bonus. In addition, from “Misty” to the beginning of “Dazed”, it will be a duplicate recording with the corresponding part of Disc 1-3, which is the core of this board, but there is a complete mono mix mastering, and this Disc 4 In -5, it is a stereo tape mono recording that respects the air of the original data where you can feel the hiss component from the left and right. can also be enjoyed.

Disc6 Supplement
The SB sound source has no good material among net traders, and it is definitely the best sound (not the net) that the main board can be said to be two ranks higher. The lack is compensated for by the Aud sound source, but since it is compensated after phase correction, discomfort such as sound deviation at the joint is minimized. In the existing Winston etc., the Aud sound source is heavily biased to the left, and the SB sound source is biased to the right, so it is a subtle editing with a strong feeling of “I have connected for the time being.” With precise processing, you can enjoy the SB version from beginning to end without such discomfort.

’90年代半ばにオーディエンス録音が懐かしのSavage Beast盤から登場し、これがAudソース1。ライブ開始から”天国”アタマまでの収録。

ネットトレーダー間に良いマテリアルがないからか、2000年代初頭にこれらタイトルが登場して以降は、意外と目立った更新もなく現在に至ります。

今回は、現在考え得る限りを尽くした、’73エッセン公演の集大成タイトルとなります。
Disc1-3の3枚が本タイトルの核となるセクションで、Aud音源2種によりライブ全長を構成したバージョン。ここでのメインソースは音質的にベターなソース2で、欠落部をソース1で補填。このAudソース2をメインにしたAudライブ全長バージョンは本盤が初。ちなみに過去のAud全長盤では序盤にてソース2が未使用)。

4-5枚目はボーナス・ディスク的な扱いとなり、Disc1-3でサブだったAudソース1を丸ごとストレート収録。もっともソース1はライブ開始から”天国”序盤までの収録となりますが、丸ごと収録という形態は、実にSavege Beast盤以来。

最後の6枚目は2曲のSB音源を総括したもの。元々SBは”Dazed”と”Whole Lotta”の離れた2曲のみということで、本盤では2曲とも欠落をAudソースで補填した疑似完成バージョンにて6枚目に収録。SBを、核となるDisc1-3に入れ込むという考えが以前なら定番的な収録方法でしたが、現時点ではメインソースに入れ込まずに別途収録するのがベターでしょう。

Disc1-3補足
「Aud音源のみでライブ全長を構成」したタイトル、という点で似たコンセプトを持ったタイトルに新タラ盤がありますが、そちらではメインソースに音の良いソース2を優先するということでもなく、序盤をソース1、中盤以降をソース2と、極めてザックリした収録形態を取っていたようです。先にも述べましたとおり今回盤では音の良いソース2(ネットではない)を軸に、欠落をソース1で補う形が取られており、間違いなくAudオンリー全長バージョンのベストタイトルと言えるでしょう。”Whole Lotta Love”中の”I Can’t Quit You Baby”にて両方のAud音源で補えない欠落が数秒ありますが、ここは敢えて違和感の出るSB補填はせず、今回はそのままとなっております。
また既発EV盤ではSB音源が優先された関係で、音の良いソース2メインの”Dazed”は今回が初登場となり、要注目です(*”Whole Lotta Love”のAudソース2バージョンはWinstonで既出)。

Disc4-5補足
先にも述べましたとおり、Audソース1(ネットではない)のみをストレート収録したパート。
既発Savage盤よりも音質的に明らかに優れており、ソース2にはクリアさで劣るものの、低域が良く出たサウンドで、ファンなら意外と聞けてしまう。ネットにもこのソース1のみを単品で良好な状態で収録したものはなく、マニアックなボーナス的扱いながら間違いなくAudソース1のベストバージョンと言えるでしょう。なお、”Misty”から”Dazed”出だしまでは、本盤の核となるDisc1-3の該当パートと重複収録とはなりますが、そちらでは完全なモノ・ミックス・マスタリングがなされており、このDisc4-5では左右からヒス成分を感じられる元データの空気を尊重したステレオテープのモノ録音となっており、Disc1-3パートとはマスタリング違いであり、単なる重複収録にはなってませんので、これも十分楽しめます。

Disc6補足
SB音源はネットトレーダー間には良い素材はなく、間違いなく本盤が2ランクは上と言えるベストサウンド(ネットではない)。欠落をAud音源で補填していますが、位相修正のうえ補填されているため、繋ぎ目での音ズレ等の違和感も最小限に抑えられております。既発のWinstonなどではAud音源が左に大きく偏り、SB音源が逆に右に偏っているため、「とりあえず繋いどきました」感の強い微妙な編集となってたりしますが、本盤では緻密な処理により、そのような違和感もなく終始SBバージョンを楽しめます。
