Original KISS’s only reunion album “PSYCHO CIRCUS”. The ultimate version of the peripheral sound sources is now available on the Permanent Preservation Press 2CD.
Various official / semi-official treasure trucks are engraved in this work. Rare tracks such as demos of the album production process, outtakes, unreleased takes and official singles / bonuses. There are many famous sound sources such as those that have already been released, but in this work, we have the best masters, and we are pursuing the perfection that can be heard as a music work as a whole. It is finished in a 2-disc set of ultimate quality.
Since the contents are diverse, let’s introduce them individually in the order of recording.

● DISC 1: All songs from the album + α demo (14 tracks)
The main part of DISC 1 is a collection of demo takes of “PSYCHO CIRCUS”. In addition to all 10 songs from the album, there are also demos of “In Your Face”, which was a bonus for the Japanese edition, and “It’s My Life”, which first appeared in “THE BOX SET”.
Demos range from memo recordings at the composition stage to rough mixes where you can’t tell the difference from the final version, but in the case of this work, it’s close to the latter. Although the difference is not so obvious, the arrangement is highly complete and the sound quality is quasi-official. Moreover, it is a studio album that can be enjoyed as “another PSYCHO CIRCUS” because all the songs of the album are available.
Also, as you know, only “Into The Void” was played by the four originals in “PSYCHO CIRCUS”, and the ace guitars were also three songs “Into the Void”, “You Wanted the Best” and ” In Your Face “only. Therefore, although it is difficult to say how much Peter and Ace are involved in this demo, it is also a nice point that there are two takes each of “Into the Void” and “In Your Face” sung by Ace. Even the vivid stick counts of the “Into The Void” intro are exciting to think of as Peter’s legacy.

● DISC 1: Official rare take (2 tracks) from the PSYCHO CIRCUS era
DISC 1 is almost a “demo album”, but at the end, two official rare tracks are additionally recorded as a bonus. The first is “Raise Your Glasses (Collectors Version)”, which is a demo version of the songs on the album. In the sense of “demo”, it is the same as the above 14 takes, but this alone was recorded in the official CD single “Psycho Circus”. It’s a different version from the main demo “Raise Your Glasses” above, and it’s closer to the final, and what’s surprising is the genuine official track “Raise Your Glasses (Collectors Version)”. And the above main demo has almost the same sound quality, and there is no discomfort even if you listen to it continuously. It’s also a take that proves how good the above leaked demo is.
And the second song is the re-recorded version of the classical music “Detroit Rock City (1998 Version)”. It was made for the movie soundtrack, but it is a phantom version that was not announced as it is.

◆ DISC 2: PSYCHO CIRCUS outtake (6 tracks)
DISC 2 instead is a collection of “PSYCHO CIRCUS” outtakes and surrounding official live takes. First of all, the main outtakes are 6 songs. This isn’t as complete as the DISC 1 demo, but it’s still a solid song. Just because the final arrangement is not fixed, you can fully enjoy it as an unreleased song collection. In a sense, it is also the 6 most responsive songs in this work.

◆ DISC 2: Bonus track (6 tracks) limited to single edition
Up to this point, it was recorded in the studio, but after this it is an official live track. However, even though it is live, it is a related track of “PSYCHO CIRCUS”. The first to appear are the six songs that were the bonus tracks of the German version of “PSYCHO CIRCUS” at the live performance of “Terre Haute Performance on December 12, 1998 / Indianapolis Performance on December 13th”.
Unlike the studio, it is definitely performed by the original 4 people, but the most delicious one is “Within”. A repertoire that is a limited song of “PSYCHO CIRCUS World Tour” and was not played in “ALIVE: THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT OUTTAKES”. It’s not the only one, but it’s a valuable official soundboard.

◆ DISC 2: ALIVE! THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT outtake (3 tracks)
The last section is the outtake of the original KISS reorganized live album “ALIVE: THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT”. Best Buy Limited Edition bonus tracks “2000 Man” and “God Of Thunder” and iTunes Limited Bonus “Detroit Rock City”. Only these three songs were outtakes, and they were also recorded on the analog board.

As mentioned above, it is a collection of treasures in all 29 tracks, 2 hours 25 minutes 58 seconds. A demo that will be “another PSYCHO CIRCUS”, an outtake that expands the album world, an official live where you can enjoy live performances of the original four people, etc …. The sound board track related to “PSYCHO CIRCUS” is permanently preserved with the highest quality 2 Disc set. It is a semi-official work that is exactly the “deluxe edition of the back PSYCHO CIRCUS”. That is a masterpiece that I would like you to collect next to “PSYCHO CIRCUS”. Please enjoy it anytime, forever.

内容が多岐に渡りますので、収録順に個別でご紹介していきましょう。

●DISC 1：アルバム全曲＋αのデモ（14トラック）
DISC 1のメインとなるのは『PSYCHO CIRCUS』のデモ・テイク集。アルバムの全10曲に加え、日本盤ボーナスだった「In Your Face」、『THE BOX SET』で初お目見えとなった「It’s My Life」のデモも収録されています。
デモというと作曲段階のメモ録音からファイナル版との違いが分からないラフミックスまで多種多様なわけですが、本作の場合は後者に近い。違いが分からないほどではないものの、アレンジの完成度も高く、サウンド・クオリティも準オフィシャル級。しかもアルバム全曲が揃っている事で「もう１つのPSYCHO CIRCUS」として楽しめるスタジオ・アルバムなのです。
また、ご存知の通り『PSYCHO CIRCUS』でオリジナル４人が揃って演奏しているのは「Into The Void」だけでしたし、エースのギターも３曲「Into the Void」「You Wanted the Best」「In Your Face」のみ。そのため、このデモでもピーターやエースがどれだけ関わっているかは断言しづらいものの、エースが歌う「Into the Void」「In Your Face」が２テイクずつあるのも嬉しいポイント。「Into The Void」イントロの生々しいスティック・カウントさえ、ピーターの遺産かと思うとワクワクしてしまうのです。

●DISC 1：PSYCHO CIRCUS時代の公式レアテイク（２トラック）
DISC 1はほぼほぼ「デモ・アルバム」ですが、その最後にはボーナス的に２曲の公式レアトラックが追加収録されています。１つ目は「Raise Your Glasses (Collectors Version)」は、アルバム収録曲のデモ・バージョン。「デモ」という意味では上記の14テイクと同じですが、これだけでは公式のCDシングル『Psycho Circus』に収録されました。上記のメイン・デモの「Raise Your Glasses』とはアレンジから異なるバージョンで、こちらの方がよりファイナルに近い仕上がりです。そして、驚きなのが正真正銘の公式トラックである「Raise Your Glasses (Collectors Version)」と上記のメイン・デモがほとんど同じサウンド・クオリティで、続けて聴いていても違和感ゼロな事。上記の流出デモがいかに極上なのかを証明するようなテイクでもあるのです。
そして、２曲目はクラシックの再録バージョン「Detroit Rock City (1998 Version)」。映画のサントラ用に制作されたのですが、そのまま未発表となっていた幻バージョンです。

◆DISC 2：PSYCHO CIRCUSのアウトテイク（６トラック）
代わってのDISC 2は、『PSYCHO CIRCUS』のアウトテイクと周辺公式ライヴ・テイク集です。まず、メインとなるのが６曲のアウトテイク。こちらはDISC 1のデモほどの完成度ではないのですが、それでも曲としてはしっかりと完成。最終アレンジが固まっていないだけで、未発表曲集として十分に楽しめる。ある意味で、本作で一番聴き応えのある６曲でもあります。

◆DISC 2：独盤限定のボートラ（６トラック）
ここまではスタジオ録音で通されていましたが、この後は公式のライヴ・トラックです。ただし、ライヴとは言っても『PSYCHO CIRCUS』の関連トラック。まず登場するのは「1998年12月12日テレホート公演／13日インディアナポリス公演」のライヴで、ドイツ盤『PSYCHO CIRCUS』のボーナス・トラックだった６曲です。
スタジオと違って間違いなくオリジナル４人による演奏なわけですが、特に美味しいのが「Within」でしょう。“PSYCHO CIRCUS World Tour”の限定曲であり、『ALIVE: THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT OUTTAKES』では演奏されなかったレパートリー。唯一ではないものの、貴重な公式サウンドボードなのです。

◆DISC 2：ALIVE! THE MILLENNIUM CONCERTのアウトテイク（３トラック）
最後のセクションは、オリジナルKISSの再編ライヴアルバム『ALIVE: THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT』のアウトテイク。Best Buy限定盤のボーナス・トラック「2000 Man」「God Of Thunder」と、iTunesの限定ボーナス「Detroit Rock City」です。アウトテイクだったのはこの３曲だけで、アナログ盤にも収録されていました。

以上、全29トラック・２時間25分58秒に秘宝集です。「もう１つのPSYCHO CIRCUS」となるデモ、アルバム世界を拡張するアウトテイク、オリジナル４人の生演奏が楽しめる公式ライヴ等々……『PSYCHO CIRCUS』にまつわるサウンドボード・トラックを最高峰クオリティで永久保存する２枚組。まさに「裏PSYCHO CIRCUSのデラックス・エディション」となる準オフィシャル作品です。それこそ『PSYCHO CIRCUS』の隣に棚差しコレクションして頂きたい大傑作。どうぞいつでも、いつまでもお楽しみください。
