The “KISS MY ASS Tour” marked the 02nd anniversary of the group’s formation and ended the no-makeup era. The transcendental sound board album is here. Engraved in such a work is the super-superb stereo sound board recording of “September 3, 1994 Buenos Aires Performance”. It is also a new excavation DAT master brought from our original outflow route!
Before the quality that bothers me, first of all is the position of the show. Let’s take a bird’s eye view of the history of the Bruce Kulick / Eric Singer system, which was the last of the no-makeup era.

This is the 1992-1995 KISS. The “REVENGE Tour” was only in 1992, the “KISS MY ASS Tour” from 1994, and the unplugged “CONVENTION Tour” from (half of) Australia in 1995. The original reorganization will be realized with the appearance of MTV UNPLUGGED, which was a part of that. Speaking of “1994 Buenos Aires”, pro shots and FM broadcast sound boards are famous, and the Sao Paulo performance pro shots formalized in “KISSOLOGY” are also very popular. It tends to be a little confusing, so let’s focus on the schedule and check the positional relationship.

… and it looks like this. Five performances were held in Buenos Aires, and this work is the first day. The FM broadcast sound board was the second day. Full pro shot is known on the first day, but this work is not that sound drop …. The pro shot version was a VHS source, but this work is the original DAT master leaked from a local radio station. If you are a core collector, you may remember the legendary Argentinian limited boot “ROCK CITY” and the European edition “FUEGO”, but this DAT master is the original source before editing.
Its quality is the “ultimate type directly connected to the mixing desk”. Instead of hearing the loud cheers, it has a powerful sound that engraves the thick core into the brain, and if the ultra-fine details are clear, the panning that blows left and right with a fierce stereo width is also brilliant. Especially the drum seems to stick its head between the snares. It is an extreme mix because it is based on the assumption that the PA is placed far to the left and right of the venue, and it is not intended to be listened to with home audio or headphones. In that sense, it may not be work-like, but that’s why the experience of a different dimension is irresistible for soundboard enthusiasts. This work is the highest grade board, and because it is DAT direct, it is super delicate to the subtleties of subtleties.
The full show of the “KISS MY ASS Tour”, the last electric tour of the no-makeup era, is depicted with such a richly colored, different-dimensional sound. Speaking of the live album of the curic / singer system, the official “ALIVE III” is a symbol, so let’s organize the set while comparing.

… and it looks like this. Whether it is based on the tribute work “KISS MY ASS”, the 70’s classics have increased considerably. In that sense, it is hard to say that it is a “summary of the no-makeup era”, but it is also a culmination set of the 20th anniversary of its formation, which is more colorful than that.
The following year, 1995, “KISS UNPLUGGED” was realized, and KISS proceeded to reorganize the original. This work is just before that. It is a transcendental soundboard album that pours a full show into the brain that should be called “the right way of the no-makeup era” before stepping into unplugged. Please fully enjoy the highest peak sound of the Omoto DAT master, the essence of Masamichi’s no-makeup era, which is now precious.

これが1992年ー1995年のKISS。“REVENGE Tour”は1992年のみで、1994年から“KISS MY ASS Tour”、1995年の豪州（の半分）からアンプラグドの“CONVENTION Tour”を実施。その一環であったMTV UNPLUGGED出演を機にオリジナル再編が実現するわけです。「1994年ブエノスアイレス」と言えば、プロショットやFM放送サウンドボードが有名ですし、『KISSOLOGY』で公式化されたサンパウロ公演プロショットも大定番。やや混乱しがちですので、さらに日程をフォーカスして位置関係を確認しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。ブエノスアイレスでは５公演が実施され、本作はその初日。FM放送サウンドボードは２日目でした。初日はフル・プロショットが知られるわけですが、本作はその音落とし……では、ありません。プロショット版はVHSソースでしたが、本作は現地のラジオ局から流出した大元DATマスター。コアなコレクター諸兄なら伝説的なアルゼンチン限定ブート『ROCK CITY』や欧州盤『FUEGO』をご記憶かも知れませんが、このDATマスターはその編集前の大元なのです。
そのクオリティは「ミックス卓直結タイプの究極形」。大歓声もほとんど聞こえない代わりに、極太の芯を脳髄に刻み込むような強力サウンドで、超微細なディテールも克明なら猛烈なステレオ幅で左右に吹っ飛ぶパンも鮮烈。特にドラムはスネアの間に頭を突っ込んでいるよう。会場の左右に遠く配置されたＰＡを前提にしているからこその極端なミックスで、家庭用オーディオやヘッドフォンで聴くことを想定していない。その意味では作品的ではないのかも知れませんが、だからこそサウンドボード・マニアにとっては異次元の体験感がたまらない。本作は、その最上級盤であり、しかもDATダイレクトだからこそ機微の機微まで超繊細なのです。
そんな極彩色の異次元サウンドで画かれるのは、ノーメイク時代最後のエレクトリック・ツアー“KISS MY ASS Tour”のフルショウ。キューリック／シンガー体制のライヴ盤と言えば、公式『ALIVE III』が象徴ですので、比較しながらセットを整理してみましょう。

翌1995年には『KISS UNPLUGGED』が実現し、オリジナル再編へと突き進んでいったKISS。本作は、その直前。アンプラグドにも踏み入れる前の「ノーメイク時代の正道」とも言うべきフルショウを脳髄に流し込む超絶サウンドボード・アルバムなのです。今となっては貴重な正道ノーメイク時代の本領、大元DATマスターの史上最高峰サウンドで存分にご堪能ください。

The main press 2CD is an official transcendent sound board album that conveys the “KISS MY ASS Tour”. It is a new masterpiece of the highest quality ever reprinted from the outflow DAT master. As I mentioned in the commentary, this show is also famous for the fact that multi-camera pro shots were left. In order to collect the top works of the live album version and the video version at once, it is decided to come with a luxurious bonus.
That’s why this work contains the same “Buenos Aires performance on September 3, 1994” as the main press 2CD. It is the multi-camera pro shot. The main press 2CD is a ridiculous sound board album of the official transcendence class, but this work of the video version is not defeated. Speaking of South American pro shots in the 90’s, it’s no wonder that the video is full of crowded dubbing, but this work is a super beautiful master that has appeared in recent years. Complete master quality with no dubbing traces or even traces of broadcasting. In fact, it is not at all beaten by the formalized São Paulo Pro Shot.
And the superlative stereo soundboard audio adds color to the visual beauty. Compared to the main press 2CD that was directly raised from the DAT master, the details are slightly sweeter, but the same basic mix table direct connection system. The direct feeling of the class and the stereo feeling that pans violently are brilliant anyway.
A full show that is now the final form of the precious no-makeup era that is drawn with such transcendent quality. In the main commentary, I referred to “ALIVE III”, but here let’s organize it by comparing it with the official Sao Paulo performance shot of the same “South America” leg.

On the first day in Buenos Aires, I wanted to read into Paul’s true intentions when he chose Starchild’s shirt. というわけで、本作に収められているのは本編プレス２CDと同じ「1994年９月３日ブエノスアイレス公演」。そのマルチカメラ・プロショットです。本編プレス２CDはオフィシャル超越級のとんでもないサウンドボード・アルバムですが、映像篇の本作も負けていない。90年代の南米プロショットと言えば、ダビング混んだらけのゴワゴワ映像でも不思議ではないのですが、本作は近年になって登場した超美麗マスター。ダビング痕どころか放送の形跡すらなく、完全なマスター・クオリティ。実際、公式化されたサンパウロ・プロショットにまったく負けていないのです。
そして、その映像美をさらに彩っているのが超絶級のステレオ・サウンドボード音声。DATマスターからダイレクトに起こされた本編プレス２CDと比べるとディテールにやや甘みも感じられますが、基本的な同様のミックス卓直結系。ド級のダイレクト感も猛烈にパンするステレオ感もとにかく鮮烈なのです。
そんな超絶クオリティで画かれるのは、今となっては貴重なノーメイク時代の最終形となるフルショウ。本編解説では『ALIVE III』を引き合いに出しましたが、ここでは同じ「南米」レッグの公式サンパウロ公演プロショットと比較しながら整理してみましょう。
