KISS in 1977, who sent “LOVE GUN” to No. A hidden treasure album that tells the scene is now available.
What is imbued in this work is “Fresno performance on August 17, 1977”. It is an excellent audience recording. Speaking of 1977, it is a time when three tours “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour” / “LOVE GUN Tour” / “ALIVE II Tour” intersect, but this work is a record of the “LOVE GUN Tour” in the middle. Not only was the official “ALIVE II” produced for this tour, but the soundboard albums “SAN FRANCISCO 1977 SOUNDBOARD” and “FORT WORTH 1977” reigned as large classics at our shop, and this week the official outflow professional shot “HOUSTON 1977 1ST NIGHT/2ND NIGHT” will also appear. In such a situation, let’s quickly look back at the tour schedule to see what the position of this work is.
《“LOVE GUN” released on June 30》
・July 8-August 13 (18 performances)
* August 16 “SAN FRANCISCO 1977 SOUNDBOARD”
*August 17: Fresno Performance ← This work
・ August 19-22 (3 performances)
・ August 26 Inglewood performance ← * ALIVE II recording date
・ August 27 Inglewood performance ← * ALIVE II recording date
・August 28 Inglewood performance ←* ALIVE II recording date
*September 1 “HOUSTON 1977 1ST NIGHT”
*September 2 “HOUSTON 1977 2ND NIGHT”
*September 4 “FORT WORTH 1977”
*September 5 “FORT WORTH 1977”
《September 13-16 “ALIVE II” studio work》
* Note: “*” marks are days with our collection.
This is the whole picture of “LOVE GUN Tour” (“ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour” / “ALIVE II Tour” before and after is omitted). The Fresno performance of this work is the 20th performance in the US tour of 30 performances. It was also a concert the day after the press masterpiece “SAN FRANCISCO 1977 SOUNDBOARD (Zodiac 547)”.
This work recorded at such a show is a thick dynamic sound. Although it is an audience recording that also sucked in the hall sound, it is a miso that there is plenty of density and there is no feeling of being empty. The core that breaks through the thick sound is on and powerful, so it does not give a sense of distance, and the hall sound is converted into dynamism. Moreover, the details are vivid (strangely) and the audience noise is strangely farther than the performance sound. Although it is difficult to call it a sound board in terms of timbre, it sounds like an FM broadcast.
Moreover, this work is the highest peak board of such a famous recording. At our shop, the outflow sound board / professional shot is causing a big whirlwind, but we are also asking overseas KISS researchers for its authenticity. This work is a masterpiece that the core researcher has stamped “This is the best!” As a matter of course that the pitch is accurate, it is the highest peak board with each range and left and right stereo balance.
Everything so far is the best, but unfortunately the length. The middle stage of the show is a recording leak, and it is an incomplete recording. As mentioned above, it is also the day after “SAN FRANCISCO 1977 SOUNDBOARD”, so let’s check the recorded contents while comparing at the end.
● Show first half (9 songs + α)
・I Stole Your Love/Take Me/Ladies Room/Firehouse/Love Gun/Hooligan/Christine Sixteen/Makin’ Love/Shock Me
● Uncollected parts of this work
×I Want You/Calling Dr. Love/Shout It Out Loud/God Of Thunder/Rock And Roll All Nite
● Show end (3 songs)
・Detroit Rock City/Beth/Black Diamond
Although it is incomplete, it is a press-grade live album that responds to listening and shows content. Unfortunately, while leaked sound boards and professional shots are occurring in rapid succession, press production cannot be expected for incomplete audience recordings, but that does not mean that such a wonderful vintage master can not be buried in the dark. A new masterpiece that collectors who have taken a step forward from the sound board / professional shot group should experience. Please take your time and enjoy.
★ Excellent audience recording of “August 17, 1977 Fresno performance”. It’s a thick, dynamic sound, with plenty of density, and it’s a secret that it doesn’t feel empty. The core that breaks through the thick ringing is on and powerful, so it does not give a sense of distance, and the details are vivid (strangely), and the audience noise is strangely farther than the performance sound. Unfortunately, the middle stage of the show is not recorded, but you can experience the “LOVE GUN Tour” on-site with a listening response like FM broadcasting.
