Tipper Gore, who founded the PMRC at the time, created a stir when he said, “It’s a song about oral sex at gunpoint.” “Eat Me Alive” made its stage debut on the “NOSTRADAMUS Tour” in 2008. In the entire history of PRIEST, only two albums have been performed live: “BRITISH STEEL” and “DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH.”

しかも、本作はそんなフル・サウンドボードを細心マスタリングで磨き込んだ最高峰盤。それこそ、ロングビーチの公式サウンドボードと並び立ち、堂々と両巨頭となるベスト・マスターなのです。ただし、クオリティ面で拮抗しつつも個性はやはり公式とは異なる。ロングビーチ公演の公式サウンドボードはオフィシャルらしく大歓声もオーバーダブされてキチンと整えられたサウンドだったのに対し、本作はミックス卓直結系。現場の大歓声が遠くで囁く一方、演奏音とヴォーカルが極太・ゼロ距離で脳内に轟く。コンサート会場の体験感はないわけですが、だからこそ生演奏と全身が一体化するシンクロ感が絶大で、凄まじいステレオ幅で吹っ飛ぶパンも強烈。擦れっ枯らしのサウンドボード・マニアにとっては、オフィシャル以上にド直結な醍醐味が味わえるのです。
