This work was recorded at “August 31, 1985 in Raleigh”. It is the stereo sound board recording. Speaking of the “HEART” era, not only was it the beginning of a great heyday, but it was also memorable for the fact that he came back to Japan after a long time. First of all, let’s check the position of the show by looking back at the whole view of the tour, which was the largest in the career.

This is the 1985/1986 “HERAT Tour”. It was the biggest tour along with the next “BAD ANIMALS Tour”, but it was all North America except Japan. The Raleigh performance of this work is the 14th performance of “North America # 2”, which is the beginning of it. It was also the best time when I got used to tour life and started driving at full power.
Such a show was also known to have been broadcast on the ABC Radio Network’s famous program “Supergroups Live”, and has produced many already-released and half-official shows. Perhaps, if you have noticed this article, you may have experienced it in some previous episode. This work is also the same FM sound board, but it is the latest master that was discovered recently. Its identity is the “R.J.P.” collection. This person is a recordist living in Chicago, known not only as a taper for audience recordings but also for having left numerous TV / FM broadcasts precisely (for example, Tom Petty’s masterpiece “BOSTON 1978 FM (Uxbridge 1867)” is also an R.J.P. collection). In this work, the prestigious “Krw_co” excavated the original reel master. I did.
“The quality is truly the best ever.” It’s a broadcast that has been called “official class” for a long time, but depending on the previous episode, it may be distorted with a stiff feeling, dubbing marks can not be wiped, and as a result of flashy equalization to deceive them, it will become a patter… …. Each had some drawbacks. However, there are no such drawbacks in this work. Even if it is natural that there is no dubbing mark only on the original reel, there is no slight noise, and it is fresh as if it was broadcast yesterday.
What’s more, this work is the highest peak update board that refined the net original sound with original mastering. The pitch, which was about 50% higher than a semitone, was sharply adjusted, and the stereo feeling that was slightly to the right was also corrected. Rather than finishing it as something different, it draws out the charm of the original sound to the maximum and pursues perfection as a musical work. It was just finished as a decision board that will be “official substitute”.

これが1985年／1986年の“HERAT Tour”。次の“BAD ANIMALS Tour”と並ぶ最大ツアーだったわけですが、日本以外はすべて北米でした。本作のローリー公演は、その中でも序盤となる「北米#2」の14公演目。ちょうどツアー生活にも慣れて全力運転に入った一番オイシイ時期でもありました。
そんなショウはABCラジオ・ネットワークの名物番組“Supergroups Live”で放送された事でも知られ、数々の既発やハーフオフィシャルを生み出して来た定番中の大定番。恐らく、本稿に目を留められた方なら何かしらの既発で体験された事があるのではないでしょうか。本作も同じFMサウンドボードではあるのですが、最近になって発掘された最新マスターなのです。その正体は「R.J.P.」コレクション。この人物はシカゴ在住の記録家で、オーディエンス録音のテーパーとしてだけでなく数々のTV／FM放送を精密に残した事でも知られる（例えば、トム・ペティの名作『BOSTON 1978 FM（Uxbridge 1867）』もR.J.P.コレクションです）。本作は、その大元リール・マスターを名門「Krw_co」が発掘。したのです。
そのクオリティは、まさに過去最高。古くから「オフィシャル級」と呼ばれてきた放送ですが、既発によってはゴワゴワ感で歪んでいたり、ダビング痕が拭えなかったり、それらを誤魔化すために派手にイコライジングした結果パッツンパッツンになっていたり……。それぞれ何かしら欠点を感じるものでした。しかし、本作にはそうした欠点が見当たらない。大元リールだけにダビング痕がないのは当然としても、わずかなノイズも見当たらず、それこそ昨日放送されたかのようにフレッシュなのです。
しかも、本作はネット原音を独自マスタリングで磨き込んだ最高峰更新盤。半音の約50％ほど高かったピッチをビシッとアジャストし、やや右寄りだったステレオ感も補正。別物に仕上げるのではなく、原音の魅力を最大限に引きだし、音楽作品としての完成度を追求。まさに「オフィシャル代わり」となる決定盤に仕上げたのです。
そんな極めつけサウンドで画かれるのは、歴史的な復活劇のド真ん中にいたHEARTのフルショウ。当時ならではのレパートリーも披露されていますので、チェックしてみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。70年代クラシックスも交えつつ、軸となるのは最大ヒット作『HEART』の名曲群。アルバム全10曲中８曲を大盤振る舞い。現代感覚だとレア曲「Nobody Home」「What He Don’t Know」を演奏していながら全米10位ヒットの「Nothin’ at All」が外しているのが意外な気もしますが、実はこの曲がシングル・カットされるのは翌1986年になってから。ライヴ初演も「北米#5」でして、この辺もリアルタイム感だったりします。
