GUNS N’ROSES, a monster that has finally begun to move after overcoming the new Corona Pandemic. In the first report, the latest live album that jumps out to the new song “Absurd” and the super rare cover is released.
It is “August 27, 2021 Las Vegas performance” that is imbued with such a work. It is the first appearance audience recording. As the name suggests, the current tour “GUNS N’ROSES 2020 Tour” was originally scheduled to be held last year. This is the schedule that has been announced so far. I was supposed to do a Latin American tour from March 2020, but it was interrupted after only the first performance. The tour resumed in my home country of America. The Las Vegas performance of this work was the 8th performance of “North America # 2” (or the 11th performance of the US tour).
This work recorded at such a show is an audience recording with a powerful core and wonderful dynamism. The “Alesian Stadium”, which became the site, is the latest indoor dome stadium that just opened in September 2020, and this day is the first rock concert (whether the accelerator also has a feeling, the person himself tweeted and announced. was doing). The capacity that can accommodate 65,000 people surpasses that of Tokyo Dome, and the sense of scale can be felt realistically from this work as well. The thick sound is not the type that is mistaken for a sound board, but the point is that it is not blurry or boring. Perhaps the sound is taken into consideration only in the latest venue, the core that comes through the thick sound is extremely thick, and along with that, the details reach the ears with all their might. If the Las Vegas tapers find a sweet spot in the venue in the future, a ridiculous superb recording may be born … It’s a type of sound that exudes such a feeling.
Moreover, this work is mastering to maximize the potential of the original sound. To be honest, the original sound that appeared on the net was not suitable for listening to the fine parts, but in this work I adjusted it more boldly than usual. The details hidden in the thick sound were brought out, and in fact, the beauty that was easy to hear and powerful was pushed to the front.
And the biggest point is the show where such a dynamic sound is drawn. Even now, the standard and symbolic work of the reorganized GUNS is “ROCK IN RIO 2017”, so let’s organize and watch the set while comparing.

The latter “I Wanna Be Your Dog” is a cover of THE STOOGES sung by Duff McKagan, and is a very rare song that was played for the first time on this tour.

新型コロナ・パンデミックを乗り越え、遂に動き出した怪物GUNS N’ ROSES。その第一報にして新曲「Absurd」や激レア・カバーまで飛び出す最新ライヴアルバムが登場です。
そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「2021年８月27日ラスヴェガス公演」。その初登場オーディエンス録音です。現行ツアー“GUNS N’ ROSES 2020 Tour”はその名の通り、本来なら昨年に行われる予定だったもの。新型コロナ禍によって延期を繰り返し、１年４ヶ月を経てやっと再開されたわけです。まずは、彼らの近況を知る意味でも現行スケジュールを紐解き、ショウのポジションを確かめてみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されているスケジュール。2020年３月からラテンアメリカ・ツアーを行うはずでしたが、最初の１公演だけで中断。ツアー再開は母国アメリカとなりました。本作のラスヴェガス公演は「北米#2」の８公演目（と言いますか、全米ツアーの11公演目）にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、力強い芯とダイナミズムが素晴らしいオーディエンス録音。現場となった“アレジアント・スタジアム”は2020年９月にオープンしたばかりの最新屋内型ドームスタジアムで、この日が初のロック・コンサート（アクセルにも思い入れがあるのか、わざわざ本人がツイートして告知していました）。６万5000人を収容できるキャパシティは東京ドームも凌駕しており、本作からもそのスケール感がリアルに感じられる。ぶ厚い鳴りはサウンドボードと間違えるタイプではないのですが、だからと言ってボケボケ・ボワボワではないところがポイント。最新会場だけに音響にも配慮されているのか、ぶ厚い鳴りをぶち抜いて来る芯がえらく極太で、それに伴ってディテールまで力尽くで耳元に届く。今後ラスヴェガスのテーパー達が会場のスウィート・スポットを見つけ出したら、とんでもない極上録音が誕生するかも知れない……そんな予感を滲ませるタイプのサウンドなのです。
しかも、本作はその原音の可能性を最大限に引き出すマスタリングを敢行。正直なところ、ネットに登場した原音は微細部を聴き込むのには向いていませんでしたが、本作では普段よりも大胆に調整。ぶ厚い鳴りに隠れていたディテールを引き出し、実は聞きやすくパワフルな美点を前面に押し出したのです。
そして、そんなダイナミック・サウンド描かれるショウこそが最大のポイント。現在でも再編GUNSの基準・象徴作と言えば『ROCK IN RIO 2017』でしょうから、比較しながらセットを整理して観ましょう。
