GTR is a super group formed by Steve Howe and Steve Hackett. The super-superb master of that precious professional shot video is now available.
“Munich performance on September 22, 1986” is included in this work. It is the multi-camera pro shot. Speaking of GTR, the only album was a smash hit, but after that, it was a super band that disbanded after only one tour. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s take a bird’s eye view of the progress that ended in foam.
・February 6: Appearance at Double O’ Charity Benefit
《GTR released in May》
・ June 20-August 9: North America (32 performances) ← * Official KBFH
・ September 8-14: UK (3 performances)
・September 22nd: Munich performance ← ★This work★
・ September 29: London performance
“Steve Hackett Leaving”
This is an overview of GTR’s activities. There are contradictory descriptions depending on the materials, so it’s hard to say exactly, but I think you can imagine the approximate scale. After the release of the album, they went on a North American tour, but in Europe, it was only a showcase in their home country, England. This work was the only exceptional German show.
This stage is also a special performance on the assumption that it will be broadcast on TV, and the professional shot video has been synonymous with “moving GTR”. While this work is also a familiar image, it is a new excavation master that updates the highest quality. Its identity is the 2007 digital rebroadcast version. It is a Japanese broadcast version that was played on a certain satellite broadcasting station’s music program “The Rock Masters: Rock Guitarist Retsuden!”.
The quality is exactly “official grade”. Our shop has archived numerous music programs with the provision of the finest masters from core recording maniacs, but this work is also the latest work. In particular, this work was recorded by a maniac who is familiar with the blockbuster works of Michael Jackson and Prince. The visual beauty that has become an iron wall has no dubbing marks or deterioration over time, and is completely master quality. That’s why I want it to be officially released as the only deluxe edition of the album and set.
And what’s more, the unique bonuses that are typical of Nippon Broadcasting are also delicious. First of all, at the beginning of the program, a commentary corner by a certain music critic is arranged, and the background of the band’s formation and a short history are reviewed in an easy-to-understand manner with a passionate narrative. And at the live, the MC is also equipped with Japanese subtitles. If the official DVD version of the Japanese version is realized, it will be like this work.
The stage depicted with such perfect quality is truly the pinnacle of “moving GTR”. The set is far from a full concert with a total of 8 songs along the broadcasting frame of about 1 hour, but each song is precious. There is no repertoire of YES or GENESIS, and all songs are album “GTR” numbers … I think, but only one song is “Prizefighters”. This was a new song made for the 2nd album, and although the 2nd album itself ended up being a phantom, the sessions for some songs were realized. This song was also included on Hackett’s solo album “FEEDBACK 86”.
No one will think about the revival of the GTR now, and it will be difficult to get a chance to rebroadcast the live. I can’t assert that it will never happen again, but it is the highest ever version of a valuable pro shot that I can’t believe there is. It is a definitive edition that boasts the same value as the album “GTR” and is an eternal absolute work. Please enjoy it to the fullest.
★ Multi-camera pro shot of “September 22, 1986 Munich performance”. A digital rebroadcast version of 2007, a new excavation master that updates the highest quality of large classic TV broadcasts. Both audio and visual beauty are “official class”, and there are no dubbing marks or aging deterioration at all. Equipped with a unique commentary corner and Japanese subtitles for the MC, it is a cultural heritage video where you can enjoy the precious “moving GTR” with such master quality that you want it to be officially released.
