In addition to the absolute virtuoso sound, heaps of rare songs and Bill Bruford. An absolute must-listen album with a lot of things to listen to is now available.
“August 9, 1982 Inglewood performance” is imbued in this work. It is a superb audience recording left by the genius Mike Millard. The most recent studio work was “ABACAB”, but at that time it was a tour related to the subsequent live album “THREE SIDES LIVE”. Speaking of 1982, the historic reunion event SIX OF THE BEST was realized, and Phil Collins’ solo work “THE HELLO, I MUST BE GOING!” It was also a time when activities became more complicated. First of all, let’s take a look at the overview with the schedule and check the position of this work.

《3×3 released in May》
《“THREE SIDES LIVE” to be released on June 4》
・August 1-29: North America (23 performances) ← Coco
・ September 3-16: Europe (10 performances) ← * FESTIVAL UNITA 1982 etc.
・ September 18th-30th: UK (12 performances) ← * MAN ON THE HAMMERSMITH and others
・October 2: SIX OF THE BEST
《“THE HELLO, I MUST BE GOING!” Released on November 5》
《“THE HELLO, I MUST BE GOING Tour” starts on November 21》

This is the 1982 GENESIS. At that time, it was also a big hit era, but in 1981, the “ABACAB Tour” was held once. The 1982 “THREE SIDES LIVE: ENCORE Tour”, which was also the second round, toured Europe and the United States at once in just two months. The Inglewood performance of this work was the 7th performance of the “North America” leg, which is the beginning of it.
This work, which is a vacuum-packed version of such a show, is a top-class audience recording by the absolute master Millard. At the beginning, the hustle and bustle that seems to be a big hit era blows out and I have a bad feeling, but that is only at the start of the performance. Once the performance began, the hustle and bustle gradually subsided, and the clear and vivid sound of the performance dominated the venue. If that happens, it’s already the usual mirrored world. After all, the scene is “The Forum” in Millard’s garden, and the band is GENESIS, which he recorded like his life’s work. The sound output characteristics are well understood, and there is no doubt that high sound quality will not be achieved.
In fact, the sound of this work is suitable for pressing, but it was not perfect. First of all, what was discovered was not the original master, but the 1st Gene Master who had dubbed only once. Secondly, “I Know What I Like” played in the encore last is not recorded. Regarding the latter, it is unknown whether it was a recording omission (Millard makes such a mistake !?) or it was dropped during dubbing, but in any case the possibility of future upgrades was left. Hoping for that possibility (although it is not very high), we have decided not to preserve it permanently this time.
And what is depicted in such a mirrored sound is a show that attracts a lot of attention with extremely rare songs and delicious guests. Speaking of the representative work of this tour, our press masterpiece “MAN ON THE HAMMERSMITH 1982 (Virtuoso 137/138)” is famous, so let’s organize it while comparing.

● 3 people era
・Duke: Behind The Lines/Misunderstanding/Turn It On Again
Abacab: Dodo/Lurker/Abacab/No Reply At All (*)/Man On The Corner/Who Dunnit?
・Others: Follow You, Follow Me/Paperlate (*)
● Classics
・ Gabriel era: Supper’s Ready / Medley (In The Cage / Cinema Show / The Colony Of Slippermen) / Medley (★: The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway / Watcher Of The Skies)
・4 people era: Dance On A Volcano/Los Endos/Afterglow/Drum Duet
* Note: “★” marks are songs co-starred with Bill Bruford. The “*” mark is a song that PHENIX HORNS participated in and cannot be heard on the press masterpiece “MAN ON THE HAMMERSMITH 1982”.

… and it looks like this. “No Reply At All” and “Paperlate”, which are also co-stars with PHENIX HORNS, are extremely rare, especially “Paperlate” can only be played with one hand. It’s miraculous just to listen to live performances, but to be able to taste it with mirrored sound …. It is encore that attracts ears more than that. When the band reappeared, Phil called Bill Bruford. “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway” & “Watcher Of The Skies” are co-starring in a medley performance.
Furthermore, the whole show is full of flavor from the “THREE SIDES LIVE: ENCORE Tour”, which became a hot topic as a “return to prog”. The main set that starts with “Dance On A Volcano” and ends with “Los Endos” has a conceptual mood, and the core large song “Supper’s Ready” is a full performance of more than 20 minutes.
The precious “THREE SIDES LIVE: ENCORE Tour” was only two months old. Even in that collection, in addition to the special sound quality, it is a definitive board packed with rare “No Reply At All”, “Paperlate” and guest co-stars. In terms of content and quality, it is a new name board that is suitable for permanent preservation press if it is originally. Please enjoy it to the fullest.

★ The best audience recording of “August 9, 1982 Inglewood Performance”. It is the 1st Gene Master by absolute master Mike Millard, and there is no doubt that the sound recorded in his garden “The Forum” is bad. It is an absolute new masterpiece that you can enjoy even the extremely rare “No Reply At All” and “Paperlate” and guest participation of Bill Bruford and PHENIX HORNS.

また1982年と言えば、歴史的な再結成イベントSIX OF THE BESTが実現し、フィル・コリンズのソロ作『THE HELLO, I MUST BE GOING!

《6月4日『THREE SIDES LIVE』発売》
・9月18日ー30日:英国(12公演)←※MAN ON THE HAMMERSMITH他

《11月21日“THE HELLO, I MUST BE GOING Tour”開始》

第二に、アンコールラストに演奏された「I Know What I Like」が未収録な事。

Behind The Lines/Misunderstanding/Turn It On Again
Dodo/Lurker/Abacab/No Reply At All(*)/Man On The Corner/Who Dunnit?
Follow You, Follow Me/Paperlate(*)
(In The Cage/Cinema Show/The Colony Of Slippermen)/メドレー(★:The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway/Watcher Of The Skies)
Dance On A Volcano/Los Endos/Afterglow/Drum Duet
「*」印はPHENIX HORNSが参加し、プレス名盤『MAN ON THE HAMMERSMITH 1982』で聴けない曲。

「The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway」&「Watcher Of The Skies」がメドレー演奏で共演しているのです。
