A new series of shocking super-excellent original recordings is born! The soundboard-class master collection that has not been known until now is being discovered one after another. This week, three super masterpieces, the first in the series, will be released at once. It is open to the public on a permanent storage press CD!
Yngwie Malmsteen, EUROPE and Michael Schenker were selected for the first public release of the new master collection. This work is the EUROPE edition. It is a transcendental audience recording of the performance of “January 13, 2005: Hiroshima Club Quattro”, which was reunited and returned to Japan for the first time in 13 years.

It was their first visit in 13 years, but since the legendary first visit to Japan, it would be the “five people” including John Norum. Only after the miracle of returning to Japan for the first time in 19 years, a tour of a scale comparable to the heyday was organized. In fact, their local performance was last realized in 2005, and the Hiroshima performance of this work was one of them.
This work recorded at such a site is truly “super” superb. It also makes me want to line up in a row. Of course, the core is on and very thick, the details are super clear, and the separate feeling of each note is also great. Above all, I can’t feel the sense of distance at all. Do you call it a “sound board”? If it hadn’t been handed over by the recorder himself, he would have thought, “A great sound board has leaked!” Without considering the possibility of the audience. For example, when it comes to EUROPE in 2005, St. Petersburg’s professional shots are a big staple, but they are much more beautiful and clear than that soundboard sound. Despite the audience, it is a transcendental recording that I would like to call “completely official class”.

新たなる達人コレクションの初公開に選ばれたのは、イングヴェイ・マルムスティーン、EUROPE、マイケル・シェンカー。本作は、そのEUROPE編。再結成を果たし、13年ぶりに日本へ戻ってきた「2005年１月13日：広島クラブクアトロ」公演の超絶級オーディエンス録音です。

彼らの来訪自体が13年ぶりでしたが、ジョン・ノーラム込みの“あの５人”ともなれば伝説の初来日以来。19年ぶりという奇跡の再来日だけに、全盛期に匹敵する規模のツアーが組まれました。まずは、その全景からショウのポジションを確認しておきましょう。

以上、全７公演。公演数も彼らの来日史上の最多タイですが、東名阪に留まらない幅広さは90年代かのよう。実際、彼らの地方公演が実現したのは2005年が最後であり、本作の広島公演もその一幕でした。
そんな現場で記録された本作は、まさに「超」極上。それも、超々々々々……とズラズラ並べたくなる。もちろん芯はオンで極太ですし、ディテールも超鮮明ですし、１音１音のセパレート感も絶大。何より距離感がまったく感じられない。「まるでサウンドボード」と言いますか、録音家本人から譲られていなかったらオーディエンスの可能性など微塵も考えず、「凄いサウンドボードが流出したね！」と思った事でしょう。例えば、2005年のEUROPEと言えばサンクトペテルブルクのプロショットが大定番ですが、あのサウンドボード音声より遙かに美しく鮮明。オーディエンスにも関わらず「完全オフィシャル級」と呼びたい超絶録音なのです。
とにかくド肝を抜かれっぱなしの超絶サウンドで描かれるのは、帰ってきた“あの５人”によるフルショウ。先ほどサンクトペテルブルクのTV放送プロショットを引き合いに出しましたが、本作はさらに名曲増量のフルセット。ここで比較しながら整理してみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。ロシア・プロショットより４曲多いわけですが、それがすべて80年代のクラシックスというのが嬉しい。もちろん、復活作『START FROM THE DARK』にしてもリアル・タイムだからこそのレア曲が取り上げられており、「America」「Hero」「Wake Up Call」など現在では望めないレパートリーが美味しいのです。
それにしても、衝撃的なまでの超極上サウンド。ＰＡや機材がさらに進化した2022年の現代でも奇跡レベルの超絶のライヴアルバムです。せっかく再結成を果たしながら『LIVE AT SHEPHERD’S BUSH, LONDON』まで公式ライヴ盤はオアズケだったEUROPEですが、これで再始動直後の活きの良いフルショウをいつでも味わえる事ができるのです。
