Eric Clapton / Costa Mesa 1990 Mike Millard Master Tapes / 2CDR/ Uxbridge
Pacific Amphitheater, Costa Mesa, CA, USA 4th May 1990 Truly Perfect Sound *New Source
The legendary taper, the treasured master recorded by Mr. Mike Millard, was recently uploaded on the net by JEMS. From the “Journeyman Tour” performed by Eric Clapton in 1990, it is a master that completely recorded the Costa Messa performance on May 4 with the finest stereo audience recording. At our shop, we have released a press 2CD “Costa Mesa 1990” as a pre-launch board, but of course it is a different master, and it has the same excellent sound quality as the pre-launch board, which had high sound quality. Moreover, if this master does not include the voices of the surrounding customers, it has a texture like a sound board recording! This master was completely unreleased among the mirrored tapes, but when it was uploaded on the net, the opening number Pretending was cut in (probably the start of recording was delayed), Before You Accuse In the middle of Me, it included a large cut due to a tape change. However, there was a splendidly smooth compensation from “Costa Mesa 1990”, which boasts the same high-quality sound as the driving force of our shop, and was reborn into a completely flawless figure! In terms of timing, the release of the complete version of “24 NIGHTS” has just been announced. It was this tour that jumped out to the world after that. Please enjoy the appearance of Clapton, who performed a raging performance even at Costa Messa, with this work of the best master, keeping the vitality that achieved “24 NIGHTS”.
[Clapton’s angry stage that looks like a rock star, playing full-length electric! ]Let’s take a look at the transition of this year in chronological order as to what timing this concert was held in Clapton’s career. Clapton’s activities were active from early 1990.

You can see that the year 1990 was a year to promote the album “JOURNEYMAN” released at the end of the previous year. It picks up old blues while incorporating typing and synthesizers. With a ballad that melts in your heart, and an intense, edgy number, this is an album in which he created himself as “a modern artist, Eric Clapton,” using a variety of approaches. I thought you wanted to let me know. From the album, it was an ambitious tour with 6 numbers set in Pretending, No Alibis, Bad Love, Running On Faith, BeforeYou Accuse Me, Old Love. This performance to be released this time was the second performance from the last day of the US tour first leg. In other words, after “18 NIGHTS” in London so far (18 consecutive nights in 1990), I got a good feeling in Europe and the United States, and on the stage where confident Clapton stood in a sense of finishing. bottom. At the end of the second leg of the US tour, he lost his co-star Stevie Ray Vaughan in an accident and fell into the depths of disappointment. I was showing off a majestic stage that hits the sound. You will surely be satisfied with the sound quality and the power of the sound of this board, which has been brushed up much more than the state of the net as it is. As I mentioned earlier, Clapton’s play in this performance is also amazing! The guitar play that cuts sharply from the opening is too sharp. The flow of I Shot The Sheriff, White Room, and Bad Love will completely knock out the listener. especially white Solo in Room is too amazing! At this time, there was no structure such as inserting an acoustic set in the middle stage. We are developing a raging stage with a difference in slowness and speed only with an electric set. I would like you to listen to this intense performance by all means. Before Old Love, he announced, “I would like to dedicate this song to my friend.” Perhaps there was a friend who lost a loved one at this time or broke up. It was also a day with such a special feeling, so naturally I was enthusiastic about playing. This work is the best sound source for those who want to listen to the sharp Clapton. A good sound source that has been sleeping for 33 years. Only our shop will release it with the highest quality that has seen the light of day for the first time.
