Last week, Eric Clapton’s latest European tour released a complete recording of the best audience shots of the Amsterdam 2DAYS performance on June 7th and 8th. 先週、エリック・クラプトンの最新ヨーロッパツアーから、6月7日と8日のアムステルダム2DAYS公演の極上オーディエンスショット完全収録映像をリリース致しましたが、何と！その4日後のアントワープ公演の極上完全収録オーディエンスショット映像も登場となりました。そのため、また緊急リリース決定です！どうやら撮影者は熱狂的にクラプトンのヨーロッパツアーを追いかけていたようですね。本作に収められた6月12日のアントワープ公演での撮影アングルは、ステージに向かって左の1階スタンド（日本武道館や埼玉スーパーアリーナの、あの1階スタンドの感じです）30°くらいからの角度です。この角度はベストとも言えるもので、なぜならプレイするクラプトンをギター込みで完璧に捉えているからです。エレクトリックセットでのストラトキャスターはもちろんのこと、アコースティックセットでのマーティンもクラプトンとともにギターの全景が捉えられています（冒頭のみ、カメラの三脚を固定するのに手間取り、カメラがブレるシーンがありますが、それも瞬時で安定します）。非常にきれいな画質で、クラプトンのアップショットも多用されています。そして音声は非常に良好なステレオ・オーディエンス録音で完全収録されており、カットやトラブルは皆無です。この日のクラプトンはダークカラーのシャツにピンストライプのヴェスト姿のダンディないでたちです。少し長めの髪もよく似合っており、ルックス的にも非常にそそられます（クラプトンは坊主に近い短髪よりも、絶対この映像の髪型の方がかっこいいです）。再開されたツアーの全貌をまたも完璧に捉えた極上映像。病み上がりにもかかわらず、その影響を微塵も感じさせないプロフェッショナルなクラプトンの元気な姿を再び堪能できる素晴らしい映像です。先週の続編として、本作も是非コレクションに加えていただければと思います。

ということで、クラプトン自身のコロナウィルス感染により延期された公演は秋にリスケされ、予定されていたロシアでの公演は、ロシアのウクライナ侵攻を非難してキャンセルということになりましたので、結果的には本作はツアー終盤のステージを収録したものだということです。ツアーも終盤となり、しかもコロナウィルス感染症からの病み上がりというクラプトンの体調を考慮し、ツアー再開後はなるべく体への負担の少ないセットリストに固定化された感があります。しかしここにきて驚くべきナンバーが披露されたのです。アコースティックセットでのMean Old Worldです。この曲と言えば、ドミノス時代に故デュエイン・オールマンとドブロでセッションした思い出のナンバーです。クラプトンの心には、ずっとこの曲の思い出が残っていたのですね（それが確認できただけでも嬉しいことです）。75年全米ツアーでもこの曲はプレイされましたが、それはバンドによるエレクトリックバージョンとしてでした。この曲の弾き語りバージョンは、彼の長いキャリア上でもこれが初となります。このパフォーマンスを観られるだけでも価値ありです。ドイル・ブラムホールによるブルースハープのパフォーマンスも最高です。本公演では、Badgeで延々と気持ち良さそうに弾き続けるロングソロが特に聴きものです。さらにこの日は、クラプトンの娘さんジュリー・ローズさんの二十歳の誕生日だったため、パパはステージでHappy Birthdayを歌ってお祝いしたという、何とも微笑ましいシーンがありました。クラプトンがオーディエンスにお願いして一緒に歌ってもらっています。会場は大盛り上がり。娘の誕生日をステージで祝うなんて、50歳を迎えるまで女たらし人生を送っていたクラプトンには考えられないことです。こんな平和なシーンはめったに観られませんので、是非本作でご覧ください。そして元よりライブミュージシャンであるクラプトンですから、同じセットリストでも一つとして同じプレイをしていません。ソロはすべてアドリブですから、そういう意味でこの公演は、アムステルダム公演とはまた違った味わいがあって楽しめると言えるでしょう。復帰を果たしたクラプトンが元気にツアーを進めている姿を確認できることが嬉しいところです。
